O'Donnell's Of Donegal0

The location was excellent - right in the centre of town. We are bike packers and the hosts allowed us to keep our bikes securely locked up in the bar below overnight. The room was comfortable with a kettle and tea/coffee facilities and a TV.

Unfortunately due to current staffing shortages the pub itself is not operating which was a shame not to have a bar/restaurant available on the site. The were plenty of other eateries around so not a real problem. We were sharing a bathroom with three others rooms which was really not very pleasant by the morning. Again not the hosts fault at all but cleanliness was not a strong point for some of the other gusts. I guess that’s the risk you take when you don’t book an ensuite room ( I’m not sure this pub even has that as an option). The doors to each room were terribly noisy and squeaky so you could hear when others got up through the night to visit the bathroom.

O'Donnells was a very comfortable place to stay, fantastic that it was SO central in the middle of the Diamond in Donegal Town, the view was fab from the window, the room very clean, the staff very helpful, and there was a bar and restaurant where you could get both food and drink, what more could you ask for! In actual fact, we intended to stay only ONE night, liked it SO much....we stayed two, which the helpful staff made SO easy to arrange! There were great nearby scenic walks and the Boat trip was Brilliant....we had a great stay...and hope to do it ALL again soon!

Rita and the whole staff were lovely! Always helpful and very flexible! I stayed for 2 weeks and couldn‘t have stayed at a better location. Since i didn‘t have a car to go around with, the location was perfect for taking the bus (either Eireann/Expressway or Local Link) to numerous places to explore this beautiful county and more.the hotel/pub is directly in the city centre on the Diamond so you can explore this lovely town very easily on foot. My room was very spacious and nice! Will definitely come back! big thank you to the whole team for making my first trip to Ireland special ❤️

Excellent location, very clean and comfortable.

Much of the time, there was no one around. it would have been helpful to have check out instructions, directions for how to exit the parking lot, etc. There was a number to call, but it would have been nice to have more friendly faces.

The room was huge with a fireplace and sitting chairs. the bathroom was also large, clean, and had the best water pressure ever. The view of the main square in Donegal Town was great and there’s an amazing cafe a few stores down for breakfast called Blueberry Cafe. The double and single beds were nice to sleep in.

Because O’Donnells is located right in Donegal Town, the amount of noise coming in from outside throughout the night was unbearable. Granted we did stay on a Friday night, we got hardly any sleep, which is the only reason I’m eating O’Donnells less than a 10.

Great location for our purposes. Charming and a good value.

It was a little noisey as our rooms were right on the Triangle, but that was the experience we were after. Bar and restaurant downstairs were finishing up renovations during our stay, so we could hear the workers in the AM. That’s a very temporary thing. We were unable to turn the radiators on during our stay and the last morning we had no hot water, but we also never made our host aware. (It wasn’t much of a bother.) Host was very responsive with any requests we made.

There was no cost for the car park but a 2 Euro fee for departure, which was no problem. Location was great, room was lovely. Lovely bar and restaurant. Private car park for guests and customers use only.

If you arrive on a Monday or Tuesday the bar does not open until 4 pm and there is no staff at the hotel, however, the staff will be there to meet arrivals. The restaurant is not open on Monday or Tuesday but this was not an issue for us.

We arrived from Scotland after a 13 hour journey to attend a wedding near Donegal. Amazing price for the offer you get. Nice and clean room on the Diamond! The main square of the town, windows directly looking to the main part! which we absolutely loved! Coffee provided but also cafes around. Supermarket just around the corner. Towels and Shampoo etc provided! The team working there, super nice and attentive! Got our own keys to go in when the pub is closed! Rooms above the O’donnells Restaurant & Pub. Look, for the price and what we needed it was perfect and more then we expected! Thank you so much! Greetings from Scotland and Germany x

Very central and included a car park. Lovely large comfortable room with a nice view out across The Diamond. Bus stop for inter-city services within one minutes walk.

A charge of EUR2 is levied to exit the car park. Given the price of the rooms it might be nice if this was waived for guests. Donegal Town is incredibly loud and busy on a Saturday night so think carefully if you have young children or are a light sleeper…..
