Farnham Estate Spa and Golf Resort

Mattress was very comfortable. The whole ambiance was lovely. Gorgeous spa facilities and lovely massages. Staff all very friendly and accommodating. The food in both restaurants was fabulous also.

I have stayed here three or four times before and this time the pool was the coldest it’s ever been. So disappointed with this. Previously the lovely warm outdoor pool is why I have kept coming back. Every guest was grimacing with the cold getting in. A degree warmer would’ve made all the difference. Unfortunately can’t recommend the hotel on the pool experience because of this. But everything else was lovely.

Restaurant breakfast really good. Staff were pleasant. Spa was good, but certain parts in need of attention. Lovely walks around estate.

Spa area showed signs of needing attention. Some areas closed for maintenance, bad smell in other areas, pool temperature on the cool side as reported by number of visitors.

Dinner was excellent

The main reason to book here was the spa area and the outdoor pool and sauna were both out of order during our stay. Felt we could have been told in advance we would have made different plans. A bit disappointing.

This is a beautiful hotel offering the best of old and new, great facilities, well proportioned rooms, the outdoor pool was a real experience, and the walking trails were beautiful. I hope to return again soon. Staff were genuinely warm and courteous - sometimes with a hotel as nice as this, the staff can be rude if they don't think you're important, but there was no pretentiousness at all, compliments to all staff members and the management as you are clearly doing a great job at creating this respectful culture. We even stopped at the club house after our walk and were able to get coffee, the member of staff actually went to the trouble of wiping down the outdoor furniture as there was still some rain from the night before. I was once shouted at for being near golf facilities at another other hotel so the courtesy was very refreshing.

Everything was fabulous except for our evening diniing experience. Breakfast was superb. Staff were pleasant snd very attentive.

Our evening dining experience was extremely disappointing. We had invited another couple to join us for a special celebration and it was ruined by the service. The food itself was good but the service was terrible. The pints were flat and the coffee was cold. At one stage our table was full of glasses. The staff were polite but perhaps inexperienced. The opposite to our breakfast experience.

We had a fantastic stay here, I booked it for our anniversary and on arrival we had a card and chocolates wishing us a happy anniversary which was such a lovely touch. Orla who greeted us at reception was an absolute gem, she was beyond lovely, and also very helpful, her cocktail recommendations were spot on, and her manner was second to none, such a lovely girl who has us smiling from the minute we walked in. And for breakfast that morning there was a lovely lady called Mary who made us feel so welcome, she chatted to us and provided us with everything we needed, one of the loveliest stays in a hotel we have had so far, but was most definitely made ten times better by the amazing staff. Will come back in a heartbeat, 10/10. Spa was top class also!

The whole ambience of the hotel was beautiful. Staff were friendly and helpful. Grounds of hotel were really lovely for walks and trails. Enjoyed our round of golf despite the weather. Spoke to a very pleasant and helpful young man in the pro shop. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Will definitely return .

Very difficult to find fault with hotel . My only suggestion it that in Cedar Room Restaurant the management would consider offering a wider choice on Main Course. We found it rather restrictive. But did have a very pleasant dining experience there.

The spa with a large heated outdoor pool There are bathrobes in every room - no need to change in a busy changing room as you put on your swimming costume and bathrobe in your room and walk to the spa. In addition, the rooms had large very comfortable beds.

There was an airco unit or something driven by a motor outside the room that was making noise. The golf course was very expensive but in poor condition. The accommodation asked to book a time for breakfast in advance and requested to take max 1/2 hour. In practice they luckily were not that strict
