Hotel Victoria

The wonderful staff at this hotel could not be improved upon. Every member was friendly, very helpful, enjoyable to deal with, welcoming and professional. Our room was extremely comfortable, very roomy, beautifully decorated throughout. The hotel was small which really appealed to us compared to a large impersonal choice. The size of the hotel did not take away from all this place offers. The central train station is less than a 10 minute walk which is very convenient for train travel plans.

So, this was not necessarily a dislike to us but some should be aware. We did not find the location an issue at all though some people may be somewhat uncomfortable as it is not located in the most desirable neighbourhood. However, we read about this area in Frankfurt well in advance to our arrival so we were not put off when did arrive. Yes, the streets are not as clean as other areas of the city but it is a diverse and lively area complete with excellent dining and shopping options. The only thing we would recommend changing is the quality of the mattress as the bed we had was not to most comfortable. That and firmer bed pillows.

You can't beat the location! Very easy to find. 4 minutes walk from the main train Station. Full of restaurants and shops. The rooms are clean and the bathrooms are very functional. The breakfast was good enough for the price you had to pay. The big landmarks can be reached on foot if you like walking or very easily by public transportation. The personnel was polite and helpful.

There are very small things that were issues like very little shampoo/shower gel provided (but I had read about it in the reviews so I brought my own) some sketchy people during night time (which is expected due to the proximity of the main train station) but I always felt that the main street is well lit the elevator was a bit slow, especially if you had to wait for it to go upstairs and then come down to your floor the beds were just ok, not something amazing But really, all the above can't beat the value for money that you get

My room was very comfortable and warm. The heating worked well, which was good, as it was around freezing outside. The bed was great and the facilities in the bathroom all worked. A good shower and plenty of hot water. Soap and shampoo are provided daily. The breakfast was certainly worth paying for. Cereals, yoghurt and plenty of cold meats and bakery products, rolls, croissants and bread. The location is not the best. It is about 15 minutes walk from the main station, which is why I chose it, but like many railway stations, there are some undesirables roaming the area, especially at night and there are strip clubs for those looking for that sort of thing. However, nobody actually bothered me. I think the threat is more imagined than real. Overall I was very happy with the Victoria and I will certainly consider staying again next year, when I plan to be in Frankfurt again.

As mentioned above, this is not the best area of Frankfurt, but it is vey convenient for the main station.

nice rooms close to Hauptbahnhof (Main)

Very close and convenient to the train station, plus an easy walk to the Christmas market. We arrived early in the morning due to our flight and we were allowed to check in early, which was SO appreciated! The staff at reception and in the breakfast room were polite and helpful. Our room was small, but clean and very comfortable.

The area near the train station is a bit sketchy, but we are an “older” couple and we did not feel unsafe at any time. Our room was on a lower floor and the “street noise” persisted throughout the night, even until 0330. I wear earplugs to sleep so it was a minor annoyance, but had we stayed more than one night we might have asked for a higher floor or one not facing the Kaiserstrasse. Otherwise no issues.

Close to Main train station. METRO FRANKFURT with its multiple culinary facilities, Indian, Mexican, Japanese, Turkish, Italian, German, convenience stores and ATMs etc within walking distance. Room was simple but sufficient with typical amenities. I did not see an ironing board. The room I was in had shower and no tub. (fine with me). I would go to this hotel again. Overall hotel looked clean and modern with good maintenance.

This is a very nice and elegant hotel. We liked it a lot. The room was spacious and the shower was good. There was a lot of storage space. There was a refrigerator and coffee maker. Electrical plugs and switches were convenient and thoughtfully placed. The location was perfect for the train station. Only about 2 blocks away. Our room was in the back and very quiet.

They did not replace our coffee cups when cleaning our room. So we didn't have clean cups or more coffee on day 2. The bed was a little soft for our liking.

Very great location close to the railway station and also Messe buildings (tradeshow). The hotel is also very clean.

Bad value for money. I booked 12m2 room…and it felt like a shoe box. Also this idea of having single beds in this tiny room doesn’t help to build any space. It’s clear while the booking process but for me it was hard to imagine how small this place was. You can forget about keeping your luggage open - zero space for it 😂

The hotel is clean and has a pleasant aesthetic, the staff was friendly. I arrived at 9 in the morning and was worried that I wouldn't be able to check in until 14:00 (as is the case with most hotels) but I could do so right on the spot, which was very helpful. The hotel is a very short walk from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station) so it is easy to get there, and the city centre is within walking distance (maybe a 10-15 minutes walk).

Because it is located in a busy area, it was very noisy at night during the weekend. The windows also seem a bit old so maybe they didn't help with keeping the noise from being heard. Even though the area is convenient, there were also many shady people around and as a female solo traveller I felt unsafe walking alone at night to get back to the hotel, so keep this in mind.

It is close to the train station but not right next door. Room was perfect size for 1 person and was very clean. Very cute building. All of the staff was wonderful. Some reviews commented about how sketchy the area is around the train station and had hesitation recommending it due to this. I came in when it was dark (but not late as it was December). As a female traveling myself (my husband booked for me to explain the name on review), I wasn’t concerned. It’s like any big city, much better than some. I’m from Seattle area and Seattle makes me feel way less safe than this train station area. Yes there were some interesting folks but I never felt unsafe. The hotel is about 4 blocks away and once you get just outside the train station a block away it’s really nice.
