The location and security at the hotel were great. Breakfast had a good spread and room service was good too.

No views for this category of rooms. The room keys worked infrequently which made us return to the reception multiple times for reactivation. The worst thing was this manager who took my phone on the last day of my stay to tell me about Booking.com genius account but had gone ahead and given the hotel a 10 star rating and a comment 'Exceptional' without my knowledge. I came to know about this when I received an email from booking.com that my review has been approved. That was unethical and a gross invasion of the privacy of a guest. Now I understand now how they have a 9 star rating for a property that should be around 8. So please ignore such ratings from other reviews.

Good Hotel in a good location for visiting the Egyptian museum. Excellent food and service in the restaurant.

Tour representative who did not listen to requests for what we wanted to do. We used alternative services. On checkout a staff member tried to use my details to write their own booking.com review. I thought this was pretty strange and stopped it.

The hotel room was modern, clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was very closed to the Cairo Museum, only takes 5 minutes walk.

Dispite I asked for an itemised bill, the hotel was not able to provide a receipt with listing tax and service charge. Be aware there is 26% extra for your Booking.com bookings of any Egypt hotel. We were called to reception about our payment but it turned out we had paid the correct amount in the end. Breakfast was 17 USD per person, there were plenty of options and nice service but probably not worth the cost, especially my partner had upset stomach after having food in hotel. We didn't eat outside of the hotel during our two days of stay. Wifi keeps dropping out. For a four star hotel in Egypt, we expected better hygiene, hope this will improve in the future.

Everything.. the staff ( Farida, Amr, Saleh, the security, the waiters, the room service, really everyone) the breakfast is exceptional. The location is great, i love the hotel and sure i recommend it for everyone

Riham Khaled, the Guest Relations Officer, was excellent and did her very best to make us happy, when the room did not reach our expectations, communication was excellent. All the staff were excellent, friendly and helpful.

The first room carpet was stained and room smelly, tired bed valance,stained cushions etc Bathroom, mouldy grout in-between tiles and sealant. Second room offered was also smelly much the same etc, we were then offered a top floor updated room, newer carpet etc, was fine but the noise from the street was really loud, not double glazing, hard to sleep with the hooting horns! Etc... The pool area , well we only sat there once for a drink, pigeons flying everywhere, congregating at side of pool to drink water, dropping their excrement into the water from the overhang roof, and noisy from street, but I suppose that cant be helped. I also think the air freshner you are using in the hotel corridors etc is really Awful and needs changing, but thats my opinion.

Stayed in Cairo for 3 days. Had an amazing time. Big thankyou to hotel manager, who helped us out with a wheelchair for my mother due to my own not being loaded onto the plane. Hospitality and breakfast was outstanding. Would highly recommend.

Mario made our Check-In process a pleasure. The rooms we got were modern, clean and the bathrooms were brand new. The buffet breakfast was great value for money with lots of choice. The location is great for the Metro and the Egyptian Museum of course. Overall great value for money for the location and quality of the hotel.

Being on Tahrir Square means you have to endure cars honking all day. This is only an issue in the daytime, when not in the hotel. By the late evening, the traffic eases up. I am a light sleeper and I felt it wasn't noisy during the night. This is the only consideration to an otherwise flawless stay.

Steigenberger Hotel is a nice new addition to Cairo. We enjoyed the rooms, finding them clean and well-suited for our needs. Housekeeping was friendly and cordial. Management was fast to help us if asked.

My only qualms with the hotel were the restaurant and the room service. The food and the service were subpar. The restaurant should reduce the size of the menu and make each dish higher quality. They have too many dishes, maybe that's why the quality is poor. In addition to this, the room service staff didn't know the menu - I would order one thing and receive something entirely different. This happened on multiple occasions.

1) Room could be more clean. We found hair in the bed linen and overall cleaning is just not detailed enough. We stayed in 4 hotels during our stay in Egypt, all 4 or 5 stars, and this was a common issue in all of them. I guess the standard is different here. 2) Airport transfer is overpriced. Not enough, we tipped the driver and he asked for more money. He even insisted and asked if we had cash in different currencies to tip a bit more. Very uncomfortable situation. 3) Misleading cost info in booking.com. My term of payment was "Pay at the hotel. No pre-payment needed" but 24h before my check-in they tried to charge my card. In booking, it says the breakfast is 10USD per person per day if bought separately, but it is actually 13USD with taxes. They only tell you this when you're there.

The location of the hotel was great. It was right next to Cairo Museum and Tahrir square. We could walk to the Qasr-Nile bridge and enjoy the riverside. The best thing about the hotel was its staff. The restaurant staff was outstanding. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of local and international cuisine. Car rental service was also good (though a bit expensive) and the drivers were no less than your guides. The best thing in the stay was the Guest Relations Supervisor Ms. Riham Khaled. We had a late evening flight and were worried about the checkout time which is generally before lunch. Riham was so forthcoming and helpful she arranged for us a late checkout (at 5pm - can you believe it?). The whole staff made us feel comfortable and welcome throughout our stay. We would definitely recommend this hotel!
