Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah

Magic view, great restaurant, good conditions.

To many times disturb by the staff. They call or knock the door 6 times to ask if everything ok or we need something. I feel uncomfortable with this .

they need to improve the bathrooms and the staff in the lobby especially in the coffee.

Great location, very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Rooms had great view of the Nile. Breakfast virtually on the Nile was an added plus.

Checking in time could have been reduced. First day of stay - there was trouble with the airconditioning.

The service at check-in was very helpful as I only had a picture of my passport and not an original or a copy. Sara, from Guest Relations stepped in to help. Sara was amazing during our stay! She took us up to our room, told us about the facilities and spa and left. We saw her shortly after and she asked how we were. I explained I could not get a spa appointment until after 2:00pm the following day. This was a big disappointment for me but what could I do. Sara said she would see what she could do. She later phoned and said she got us a 4:00pm check-out. Sara then had the spa phone me and low and behold, I had an appointment for my requested time. We told no one at the hotel that it was my birthday, but upon check-out we run into Sara once again. She was disappointed we were checking out before 4:00 as she had arranged a birthday cake for me! We told no one at the hotel I was celebrating my birthday. We've always enjoyed the Sofitel, but Sara in Guest Relations, made our stay fine to fabulous!

Honestly, the food is mediocre at best and the wait staff needs huge improvement! It's such a lovely location to sit along the Nile for drinks and food so the service is such a shame. When at check-in, they were pleased to tell me that I had a King Room with Panoramic Views. I would expect so as that is what I paid for. I have stayed at the Sofitel a number of times and always get a Nile view room. I spent extra money on the room this time, and I feel that there was no need. I could have spent less and had the same type of room and view I've had previously. No different other than I was on a higher floor so a bit disappointing.

Location and the view

I booked two rooms , one with queen bed and the second is twin beds . I booked and paid before a month . They don’t give me twin beds and ask extra charge if i want to request one more bed and told me there is no possability to upgrade or to refund. I talked with reception staff in the other shift and he send extra bed as help and peomise me to transfer us to twin beds tomorrow . He did not transfer us and there is no apologize for any thing . Really, its unproffesional to deal with the customer in 5 stars hotel with scammer ways . Its good hotel and location but with totally unproffessional staff . Will not come again

The splendid view over the nile

The promenade is nice but full all the time, during 5 days of stay we couldn’t have a chance to sit at one of the tables alongside, we had to go to the kababdji restaurant to have the pleasure to sit beside the nile (even if we are not hungry)

The staff of the hotel are welcoming friendly and very helpful. the hotel location is great with great view of the nile and cairo. we had a high level room with balcony overlooking the nile, and with view of the pyramids. the room is comfortable and clean. the breakfast was superb and the staff in le Sud restaurant are extremely helpful and joyful. food in the La Palmeraie Resturant was superb, great taste, good quantity and very filling.

the sound insulation was not good as we could hear the loud music played all night in the nearby nightclub unfortunately, so I hope the hotel can figure a solution for sound insulation. we also had an unfortunate encounter with the staff of kebabgy grill restaurant and with the aqua lounge bar, however, this will not be reflected on how i view the hotel in general.

One of the best located hotels in Cairo right on the Nile with a wonderful river bank promenade, tasteful architecture; good sized rooms and glorious infinity pool. Also has one of the most charming middle eastern restaurants- El Kebabgy - with romantic outdoor Nile dining terrace and excellent food. Hotel generally has good staff with special mention to the guest relations team and the wonderfully helpful doorman bilal.

Very strange anti-social policies at the pool which allow people to play their loud music from powerful portable speakers and allow people to reserve pool loungers. Some days we would arrive at 9.30 and find all the best loungers reserved by people many of whom still hadn’t shown up when we left at 12. This shouldn’t be allowed. Also very poor service from the in-house doctor ashraf who faithfully promised our COVID test results for travel by noon the next day and then when they hadn’t arrived by 1 and the 2 and then 2.30 just lied at one point even claiming he was printing out the paperwork but the bell captain said the results had still not arrived from the lab

assigned me room # 805 which is located at lower rate , they should assigned me a room located at 9th floor and up and hotel charge higher rate for 9th floor and up. 2 nd day assigned me room #1705 , room’s balcony was very tiny no room for 1 person to stand up.

Fantastic hotel. Great facilities which were all open. Good choice of restaurants on site. Excellent views from the room.

We had problems with the air conditioning not working properly. This was fixed very quickly on two occasions. The shower tray kept overfilling while using the shower. This was fixed to a certain extent. The Jacuzzi and steam room were extremely 🔥.
