The Coast Beachfront Hotel

The property is a short and pleasant walk into Tamarindo along the beach. The hotel provides a continental breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, toast, etc, brought to your room at a prearranged time. They also organized our airport transfers. They can help arrange other tours/activities, but we didn’t take advantage of that, overall very nice property on the beach. Clean, quiet and in a good location if you would like to be close to things but not right in the middle. We arrived right at the beginning of tourist season on a Monday, and sleepy little Tamarindo definitely got busier as the week progressed. I imagine high season can be quite bustling.

We went to Costa Rica to visit our daughter who lives and works there. The hotel has a strict no guests in the room policy, or on the property. In fairness, there is a bathroom behind reception and they let her use that to change, etc., when she came by to see us.

Beautiful settings, great staff, clean, curtious. Nice beach front, quick walk to town via the beach or sidewalk. AC was cold, nice balcony, pool clean and tidy. Front desk was readily available and knowledgable of items I asked about. I would go back.

Didn't have a restaurant on property although there were a half dozen up and down the beach. Beach was just a few steps away and always raked and clean. Security was good, never had a second thought about it. Friendly merchants were available on the beach front, but not over bearing.

It has an incredible location... remote/quiet, but close to everything via a walk on a quiet street or on the beach. Staff is super helpful. The breakfast is the perfect size to start your day and delivered to your door!

Some of the rules are not enforced. There were guest who consistently smoked/vaped around the pool. The pool being smaller and sparsely used, but still smoker "fumes" were very evident. Same held in the private beach area. Although the breeze helped we had to move if we were down wind.

Located directly on the Pacific Ocean, and just on the edge of the bustling restaurant district, a super clean hotel with a pool. Front staff were helping with recommending great food options and booking transportation at short notice. The room was fully equipped with a kitchenette if you chose to make your own meals...it included everything you could need, including mini appliances

The Coast is a very beautyful and calm hotel. It's not a big hotel, we appreciated this. So it was always very quiet in the night. To walk to the center of the town it's just 10 minutes. The poolarea is beautyful too and there's a grill for use and also fresh water for free to fill up bottles. The rooms has a good equiped kitchen. As there is no restaurant, they deliver the breakfast to the room. You can choose from a menue and also choose the time. By the way: the bed in the room was super comfortabel. We espeacially liked the friendly staff and that everything was very clean. We can highly recommend this hotel.

It has no restaurant or a bar but thats nothing, it was just perfect.

the rooms are clean and cool and large, so quite comfortable. and the bed is huge! the best part is the beach area though which have really comfortable beach loungers, and you can choose between a shady or non shady area.

The main downside is there is no bar or restaurant - they do provide breakfast but you pick what you want (basically just bread and fruit) and it’s brought to your door. warm breakfast like eggs or bacon would have helped. they have kitchens and you can make your own drinks or buy beers but would be nice to be able to grab a cocktail or smoothie to enjoy on the beach without having to make it or go elsewhere. also the location is fine, not extremely far, but far enough it’s not a quick walk into town and back. but good exercise :)

The first room was right there on the beach. the beach was calm and beautiful. Very safe. had a locked gate for night and if you wanted to walk the beach in the morning, they would let you out and back in.

nothing really except our bungalow seemed to only have a queen bed and our toilet was a bit old. The second less expensive room had a big king size bed so not sure why the more expensive bungalow didn't. That was it. Everything was wonderful.

Location and view both where excellent. Nice and private but not totally secluded from everything. Short walk down the beach to town was very nice as well

loved the location!!! directly on the beach and walking distance to town (via the beach or the street) . Altho a bit further than the downtown core so it’s a bit more quiet which is great. The rooms were nice and big and modern. Full kitchen in the rooms we booked (stove , fridge, coffee maker, toaster, blender etc.) The continental breakfast was delicious in the morning and brought right to our room at a time of our choosing. lots of lounge chairs available by the pool and on the beach. Make sure you bring food and drink with you because there are no options to purchase anything at the hotel. surf boards , boogie boards and such available to rent onsite.

not a whole lot of parking. we tried checking in a day early due to a change in our plans. They only had one room left and it was less than ideal. It was basically in the parking lot and on top of what seemed to be a staff room so it was very loud and uncomfortable. The front desk staff did not seem to be very accommodating in that regard. We ended up getting a better room (what we had originally booked) for our second night.

amazing location. Very few hotels in Tamarindo right on the water. The staff was really great and accommodating. Every room having a kitchen was huge. kayaks/surfboards available to rent. I stayed in probably 10 different hotels in Tamarindo and this one was top 2.

no food/bar on site. breakfast is catered to and perfectly acceptable but being able to order a drink at night would be nice.
