Tequendama Suites and Hotel

Breakfast was great, also dinner at the restaurant. Room was spacious and clean with a fabulous view of the city with the mountains in the background. So many convenient things in the immediate area of the hotel in walking distance..we even found a late night club nearby to party and dance at, Piel Roja. And an Irish Pub just up the hill behind the museum. Restaurants, bars, pharmacy, convenience store all nearby. Street shopping vibe just a couple of minutes walk down Carrera 7 where the street turns into pedestrian shopping area with street vendors etc. Area of hotel felt safe with a strong military and police presence. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room wifi very fast, excellent ... Super important for me as I do some work remotely while travelling.

The building is easy to find, but the hotel entrance not so much.... It's tucked inside the little square beside Aladdin Casino so you don't see it from the street.... Worth the effort tho and easy once you know... Finding it the first time a bit challenging.. Lol For the hotel itself only one complaint... We found the bed quite hard, even for Colombia, where extra firm verging on hard is the norm in most hotels. I love a firm mattress but this one took firm to an excessive level. We adapted though and managed to sleep well, even if it meant a few extra roll overs during the night.

Tequendama Suites and Hotel is located conveniently close to the same road that connects the airport with the old center of Bogotá. This makes it well suited for the exploration of those neighbours. The room itself was incredibly spacious and well designed. It has everything we could wish for. Additionally, the breakfast buffet was delicious and very varied.

The bed was a little small for two people. Apart from that, it might be a bit complicated finding the hotel; our can driver dropped us off at the neighbouring hotel and we had to find our stay with the help of a serviceman late at night.

I loved everything about this hotel. It was located near lots of inexpensive restaurants , had a great view of the Bogota skyline, and it was quiet at night, plus it was located in a very safe part of town. It was a relaxing 10-15 minute walk to La Candeleria for all the sights yet it was nice staying outside all the activity. The bedroom was very good size, functional with tables and chairs, the bed very comfortable, and the shower was excellent. The adjoining living room was a great place to stretch out and relax after a day out seeing the sights, with couches and flat screen TV, as well as a refrigerator. I loved mornings because of the awesome buffet breakfast that was served on the fourth floor.

The cupboard in the kitchen had no plates, glasses, cutlery, so if you planned to make a meal, that would be a problem

I am glad we chose here! The breakfast was superb. The restaurant's offerings were deliciously mouth-watering and filling. The pride in preparation was evident. The rooms were spacious and clean. The housekeeping staff did an excellent job. The taxis arranged by the hotel were reliable. The young staff member with the braces (sorry I didn't get his name) was the best at his job. The location was good for getting around to some of the main attractions. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

The suites didn't have a kitchen towel or paper towel in the kitchen and no dishwashing soap. The housekeeping staff took care of all the cleaning and tidying up, so it wasn't much of an issue. I just like having the option because sometimes we ran out of clean dishes. The staff member who spoke the most English worked the not too busy shift. Not that it was a problem for us, but it may be something for other guests.

Convenient location near many buses, the City Center, the National Museum, with restaurants and banks close by, and a large garage below. The breakfast was very good, the rooms were spacious, with great views, lots of hot water in the shower and many TV channels to choose from. Cordial staff everywhere, safe place to leave luggage in case of a late flight, and all elevators were working well for easy access to rooms. The rooms have great views. I had a very pleasant experience.

Some furniture and carpeting is starting to look dated.

Very helpful staff. Breakfast with varied and abundant options, lots of fresh fruit. From floor 20 upwards great view. Huge suite with very comfortable sitting accomodations (2 sofas, 2 armchairs, desk with chair, dining table with four chairs). The building complex to which this hotel belongs is owned and managed by the ministry of defence, so perimetral security is rather good. Expect to see more armed military police than usual around the building. The mattress was the best I've slept in either in Europe or in Colombia.

Wi-Fi access was simply atrocious from our suite and from the restaurant. Wireless access points were almost always full between 6 pm and 9 am, we couldn't connect at all in that time range. During the day a connection was more likely, but even then the data transfer rate was so low that web surfing and voice calls were almost impossible. You can forget about video calls or video conferences of you're staying here for business. Windows didn't close properly, so that noise from the really busy streets filtered into the room. I had to use ear plugs during the night. The building was built in the 70s and it shows. Nothing extremely bad, but expect to notice some general wear and tear

Hotel was in a great location. We walked to most places and there were lots of restaurants close by. The suite was very large and the view was amazing. Breakfast was absolutely delicious! The sauna and hot tub were very nice!

We only had one meal from the restaurant but would recommend eating out at cheaper places close by. The room was lovely but the kitchen needed a few more appliances (like a spoon)! The bathroom was also a little outdated and worn down. (But this wasn’t an issue just something I always notice)

Big hotel with plentiful staff, great breakfast with good selection. Excellent coffee and so it should be if we’re in Colombia. Our room was very big and clean with all you need in it like a home.

Location is hard to find as it’s nestled in with other buildings…. There’s another big place called ALADDIN not sure if that’s a shopping mall name but it’s more a less next to that. But after a day we got use to the location… it also needs a bit of a update especially in hallways as it looks dull and outdated…

Amazing hotel with excellent staff, superb views and large variety breakfast. Didn't get to enjoy the lunch but very very good breakfast. Front desk was extremely helpful and friendly. Washer and dryer on site for a fee. Stayed in the 2 room family suite and it was very large and comfortable. Kitchen and large refrigerator was nice, could see staying here for a longer time on my next trip. Easy taxi pick up in front of hotel. ATM and a small store was right is area as well. There are a couple of little Cafe's in the same entry area so you have a lot right at your fingertips. Location is very pleasant even though a quick 15 min walk you will be the Santa Fe.

The beds were hard and both drains for the master shower and the second bath tub did not drain quick. The water pressure was amazing but I wouldn't turn it up too much so you can shower without filling tub with water.

The breakfast was outstanding! We got a well balanced/filling meal to start our day. There was a vast array of cheeses, breads, cakes, fruits and local dishes. The size of the room was surprisingly spacious with two bathrooms; much larger than most American one bedroom apartment. The location is fantastic....in the heart of the city center, which makes for a little traffic noise late into the night, however, most of the noise subsides by midnight, although on our last night, 7/19, someone played music all night into the wee hours of the morning.

Lack of information on tourist attractions and possible bus tours in and around Bogota. Information on places to shop and where to find souvenirs. Didn't like that one of Tequendama's taxi drivers, shamelessly, over charged us for a trip to and from Montserrate.
