The location was perfect! Breakfast was very good and the owners were lovely. Very helpful and kind.

No parking. There is a parking garage 2-3 minutes down the street approximately 20 euros a day. Not a bad walk to the hotel though. Wasn’t that big a deal. Accommodations definitely made up for no on sight parking.

The pictures shown are real pictures and our room was the same as on the pictures. Everything clean, even the remote control for the TV was wrapped in plastic foil so they can clean it easily. There was a big modern ventilator that cooled the room on hot days. The view from the hotel was nice, a little green garden in the city centre. Very quiet. Sometimes you have the seagulls whining but that is actually enjoyable if you are on holiday at the sea side, we love it. When you close the windows you practically here nothing anymore. At night we had a good rest even with the windows open though. We had our own little terrace which was superb. I'm a wood retailer and I saw they used IP wood, which is a very high grade of wood that is rarely seen. At this moment, you are unable to buy this kind of tropical wood anymore. A lot of sun to enjoy on the terrace and they have pretty large windows were a lot of light can fall inside the room in the day. They even have a few german tv-channels. The scrambled eggs at the breakfast were very tasty. I have to say that this room was a modern room (superior double room), very recommended.

Price was high but we enjoyed it and everything was good. We know prices can be high everywhere in tourist area's, especially in a top location and busy periods like this. Also we noticed there is just too much demand in Ostende so prices go up which is normal. We are happy that we had a good place to stay, because this was one of the last rooms available in the centre.

We used the elevator constantly, and it works great. We saw another hotel guest getting stuck inside the elevator because it was his own fault. As he kept standing in front of the safety sensors. After a while he finally understood how to use the elevator and when he got out, he stupidly blamed the hotel for a faulty elevator. But I can honestly tell you, it was the guest his own stupidness that got him stuck and the elevator is just working perfectly if you use it normally. There are even instructions inside the elevator for dumb guests. I had to get this off my chest as I am surprised how guests can be so ignorant and dumb because I saw this with my own eyes. Kudos to the hotel staff for still being friendly.

Price higher due to high season but totally worth it. Superb location. Check-in highly efficient. Breakfast area was very beautiful and everything was very well cared. The first hotel I have been in Oostende with a fly screen on the windows. You can keep the window open without fly's or mosquito's coming in. & when you do close the windows, there is virtually no sound coming from outside. Also, very important.. They have sufficient power sockets and USB sockets in the room. (About 6 USB's and 6 free sockets). There was just nothing negative. Loved it.

Told them that we will be checking in very late at the evening. They provided us detailed instructions and pin-code to check-in by ourselves via Whatsapp. Loved it :)! Would definitely recommend this Hotel. Its very close to everything.. Shopping, restaurants, main square, beach, public transport,... so very convenient. Yet they are in a very quiet area with a nice garden behind the hotel. Room was cosy and very clean. Fridge in the room was awesome. Breakfast was everything you needed to get the day going. The biggest plus point for me was also the private entrance. In other hotels you always have to greet the reception or pass the reception, this can be very annoying. Here in this hotel you can choose to pass by the reception or use your keycard to enter the private entrance and straight to the elevator in just 5 steps. Very easy entrance and overall a good experience.

Hotel Cardiff is a hidden gem in Ostend! It scores top marks across the board. The proprietor (Kay) went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed all Ostend has to offer. After drinks at the Tea Room and great restaurant recommendations, we retired to our modern, clean, and comfortable room for a great nights sleep. In the morning we were treated to a very nice breakfast to start the day. I will stay at Hotel Cardiff when I return to Ostend.

Efficient check-in by instructions received on my day of arrival. Very clean property. Breakfast was everything you needed. Very cozy place. Though they do not have 24/7 physical reception, they are very available on digital reception by Whatsapp. Who needs 24/7 physical reception anyway nowadays.

I definitely recommend the place for a stay in Ostende. Staff was pleasantly available by Whatsapp (due to the restrictions in place), good quality breakfast served in the room. Very clean place. We were celebrating our anniversary and we received with a nice surprise.

Just a thought about breakfast. It is now served in the room due to the sanitary measures. We prefer the hot food (eggs, sausage, bacon) and we would have loved to be asked if we wanted a refill considering it is usually a buffet. ;) Towels in the shower could be improved.

Lovely property, nice cosy room and very friendly staff.

My phone could connect to the wifi but it would not be able to connect to the internet through the wifi, or only for a couple of minutes. Ended up using my mobile data instead.
