Hotel Portinari

To start with there is a huge underground multi level car park and the lift comes up right in front of the hotel. To make things easier I pre booked and paid for my parking on the Interparking web site, you just scan a QR code on your phone to the receiver on the entrance barrier etc. The hotel had everything you could need with a very nice selection for breakfast, good shower and very comfortable bed along with air conditioning. As it was so hot we were worried about buying chocolates to bring home but it was simply a case of putting them straight into the fridge, the kitchen staff even put our cool bag ice block in the freezer for the return journey. Would definitely stay again when we return.

Right on a central square with market and events. good view looking out at the activity! Lots of nearby attractions, restaurants and shops. Lovely breakfast selection with quality and range and very helpful staff. They-got my friend some warm oat milk on request. Clean room with high spec sanitary ware. Comfortable beds. I slept well on both nights of my stay. Lovely murals in the corridors and historic pictures of Brugge in the lift.

The reception staff were a bit glum, not so smiley. I object when they routinely speak in English at you even after you asked questions in Dutch to them. The bath tap and plug although flash was difficult to manage. The bath was literally in the bedroom, suiting perhaps a couple of lovers, but not two friends not so used to sharing a bathroom.

Had a lovely stay here. The room was spotless, It's quite at night. There was a fridge in the room for your convenience. The air conditioning was great also. I stayed in a single room on the 5th floor in roof, there was plenty of space and a lovely bathroom attached. You could see the Belfy tower from the window. The hotel is close to everything only a short stroll to the train station and short stroll in the other direction to the main square where the Belfy of Bruges stands. I had the breakfast there on the morning I was leaving as I left early. It was very nice, good variety of food to suit all tastes.

The hair dryer was not the best, it worked but only blew out cold/ very slightly heated air, so took a while to dry my hair with it.

Location is excellent for the historic city centre. t'Zand square has an excellent underground car park with several EV chargers which are very easy to use. The area is easy to access on arrival and for leaving Bruges as well. A friendly welcome from the Receptionist who was happy to allow us to practice our French! Breakfast room staff were also very welcoming and helpful each morning. The rooms are beautiful bathrooms.

Nothing. As a break for a couple of nights during our journey back to the UK, it worked very well.

No door on the toilet/bathroom and TV was not facing the bed so couldn’t watch it properly..

Great location, very close to the main tourist routes. Convenient public underground parking (Centrum 't Zand) right next to the hotel at €15.80 for 24h (car access through the tunnel, with many pedestrian exits in the square). It is best to park at level -1 (or -3/-5). Recently refurbished and rather querky room, with large comfortable bed. Very quiet room facing the rear of the hotel (with a view of the rooftops). On Saturdays there is a market in the square, with lots of freshly cooked food.

The corridors look like hospital, and there is a strange chemical smell, but nothing too extreme.

Nice hotel close to the center (7 minutes walk to the Grand Place), very close to a very big and clean paid parking (10 meters), 5 min to a small supermarket. The room was clean and quiet (we found some old chips under the bed, but they didnt bother us :P), had a nice terrace and was comfortable. The breakfast had enough options, maybe a bit to many sugary and processed foods for 54 euros (2 adults, 2 kids under 11 years old), no healthier choices like fresh fruit, vegetables, unsweetened cereals, but it was okay for one morning. Overall, a pleasant experience!

More healthy options at breakfast

- Location is perfect if you're coming by car. Literally 25 meters from the entrance to the big city parking garage. The beach is about 25 min away. - Room was almost perfect: * great modern AC * good heat isolation in case of a heatwave * ceiling shower head if you're into that * large shower * walk-in bathroom (no door) * everything clean * good choice of bathroom amenities (soap, shampoo, body lotion) * big cupboard + safe + small fridge * kettle, cups, and hot beverages. - Western breakfast was good as well with a wide range of food - Checkin/-out experience standard. Special mention to the very nice lady with short hair working in the evening. -> Overall a great four star stay for a good price in a lovely city in a perfect location especially if coming by car.

- Small details like: * The TV remote wasn't the most responsive. * Bed pillows could be more comfortable. They were just regular pillows. I'd rather have one more orthopaedic /with more neck support amongst the four I received. * Door to corridor not entirely sound proof. There's a gap under the door so you hear when someone's outside talking. * Some very loud alarm went off at about 9 PM. Not sure what triggered it. Luckily we weren't asleep yet.

This was a lovely boutique hotel. I stayed in a single room on the 5th floor, which was not ideal for me given that I'm claustrophobic and the elevator was tiny and slow. I chose to walk up and the very kind receptionist brought my bags up in the elevator on her suggestion. The room itself was very modern and well equipped, with a nice view of the tower.

I was told the windows would open and they didn't. As someone with severe claustrophobia this was not ideal. Walking up 5 flights (to avoid the tiny elevator) was not ideal but also not a major problem as I was only staying one night.

Good location just a 10 minute walk from the main Square and 15 minutes from the train station. Nice size room, comfortable bed, lady on reception was very helpful. Good options at breakfast. Definitely recommend when travelling to Bruges for a city break.

There was a problem with the lock on our door which we only realised when we came back to our room and the door was open. We discussed this with the lady at reception who was very helpful.
