Quality Inn Heritage on Lydiard

The Quality Inn on Lydiard is an older hotel that hasn't had a major renovation in a while. So, the room was a bit dated in nature. BUT, it was large, clean, comfortable, with excellent helpful staff and located in a really central, convenient location. We'd happily stay there again. Special kudos to the receptionist at our arrival. We were early for check-in and while the room was not ready yet, the receptionist gave us room keys early so that we could move our car into the hotel parking lot. My wife had broken her wrist the day before and was having surgery in Ballarat the next day. So, just being able to park the car somewhere safe and not have to move it frequently to avoid parking fines, was greatly appreciated. The receptionist called us as soon as the room was ready for us to move in. The cleaning staff were also really friendly and accommodating in terms of getting the room cleaned in order for it to be ready for the return of my wife from her surgery. We found all of the staff at the hotel to be excellent. The Lane Cafe a couple of doors down from the hotel served very nice coffee and had nice pastries as well. Would happily stay at the hotel again if we visit Ballarat.

From an aesthetic perspective, the room wasn't all that spectacular, BUT that didn't matter since the key aspects of the room (size, comfort of bed, good bathroom, nice TV) made our stay an all-round positive one.

I like the room set up with the split level with a queen bed with its own tv and bathroom and on the other level the 2 single beds with their own tv and bathroom. It was the perfect set up for us. The beds were very comfy and with electric blankets and the rooms were very clean.

I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like. I guess I would have loved maybe an electric jug and a choice of tea bag’s, so I could have had a nighttime herbal tea and a morning cuppa.

The room is gorgeous, and the building itself is lovely. Very comfortable and easy to get around town. Great location.

Not sure if the spa was broken but it was definitely more forceful than expected. We actually shut it off because it was very loud and getting water everywhere, even though we changed the water level to try and make it work. it had one setting and it was violent. We opted for a bath instead, which was good, but we did get the room just for the spa.

The staff were great, everything was clean, and it was an excellent location. Very quiet spot, and great access to restaurants and the art gallery. Excellent place to stay in Ballarat.

The internet access is patchy at best - had trouble connecting the entire time and when it was connected, it was very slow.

Really friendly staff that managed to organise an earlier check in for me on a busy weekend. All My intersections with staff from Booking the room, to check in were amazing. Bed was comfy and the room was clean.

The price was high (understandably for Spilt Milk Festival) but I think for what I paid and what the room was was not great value for money.

Fantastic location, beautiful building, large rooms, beautifully decorated, and amply fitted. Staff were incredibly helpful, arranging a last-minute early check-in and ensuring the room was up to standard. Check out was smooth and pleasant. Will certainly stay again and recommend to anyone travelling to the area.

Room was warm and comfortable, spa was spacious and relaxing. Honestly everything was amazing! Also the location is great, 5 min drive to Sovereign Hill and walking distance to all the great restaurants and cafes!

There wasn't much not to like, if I was to be super picky, I found the toilet was located in an odd spot in the bathroom (in the way of the counter) but this was easy to overlook as everything else was just superb

The location was perfect . Was able to walk to restaurants , go shopping and leave the car in secure parking. Room was very clean and the bed comfortable. Was a perfect stay . Know where I will be staying on my next trip to Ballarat.

There was nothing not to like.

Gas fire in room created great atmosphere. Jacuzi was great. Loved the room as it was spacious and comfortable. Good selection of channels on TV and bar fridge well stocked with a good range of drinks. Room was very clean and tidy.

Room advertised kitchenette and seating area - the table available for seating at was more a glorified plant stand it was so small and the only water and washing up facilities that you would have expected in a "kitchenette" were actually in the bathroom. Take those features with a pinch of salt.

Good location in terms of being in the centre of town, clean and working heating/cooling system for each room

It's within proximity of a nightclub (presumably only open Friday and Saturdays) so that kept me up until about 3am. Not much the hotel can do about that, but hard on light sleepers like myself
