Mantra Sun City

The staff was very pleasant. The room was large and spacious with a beautiful view. Facilities were wonderful.

The carpets in the room weren't very clean, the coffee table was visually very broken and the fridge was so old the shelf snapped from very little weight being placed in the middle. I wasn't informed the room was going to be 2 single beds placed together, one bed was obviously older and softer where the other one was very very solid. We also didn't realise that we would have to pay for WiFi prior to our stay.

Loved the location! Only one block back from the beach, tram stop directly out the front, short walk to Cavill Ave (10 mins max). Room was very spacious - big kitchen, big living area, big main bedroom & ensuite. Fantastic view over the ocean (saw some whales)! Outdoor pool area with waterslides and the sandy area, kids loved it! We unexpectedly arrived very late (midnight - thanks Jetstar) but someone was there to give us keys to our room without any issues.

The balcony area could do with a clean and a bit of a spruce up - cobwebs on the glass barrier, table was grubby, chairs were mis-matched and table & chairs were cheap and cheerful (plastic). The outdoor pool was fantastic but the water was so cold - it needs to be heated for the cooler months. The TV was a bit too small for the room size and the TV made a buzzing noise when the volume was turned up to a certain level (not very loud). Also, a TV in the main bedroom would be a good addition. Lighting throughout the room needs to be improved - couldn't put makeup on in the bathroom as it was too dark, had to do it in the loungeroom but even the lighting there wasn't great (having natural light helped).

We enjoyed the wide variety of pools available to us. The spaces were very clean and tidy, and smelt very nice. The views we had were exceptional, and our rooms were lovely. It was in a nice and efficient location. Comfy beds and good shower.

We disliked that wifi was not free, and was actually quite expensive to buy. We did have to travel a bit to nearby food places/restaurants. We also got locked out of the pool area. The pools closed at 10pm, however we tried to exit the area at 9:45pm but the gates were locked and our cards were unusable. We were afraid we’d be there all night, but a guest helped us find our way out.

Great location, there's literally a tram stop outside the door, just 2 stops away from Surfers Paradise main centre. I also love that it's walking distance to the beach. What we love the most is the pool! The kids love love love the little beach on the pool and the slide. There's also an indoor bubbling pool and warm pool. We booked the 2 bedroom apartment. The master has a queen and an ensuite with bath tub and shower, the second room is a bit smaller with 2 singles and a full bathroom just outside the door. The property is large with lots of room for living/tv and dining. Overall very satisfied with the stay.

If you booked less than a week stay, there is no cleaning service included. When we arrived, most of the amenities like bath/shower soaps have ran out, we asked the main desk but were told that the service guys only comes once a week on Saturdays, though they still didn't refill our amenities until we checked out on Sunday. We were given soap bars instead. Also, the guy in the reception were very snobbish, the ladies there were very lovely though. We were only given 2 towels in each bathrooms with no extra towel for pool. If you want to borrow a towel it's $5 per towel per use, which we think is a bit ridiculous since the pool is part of the main reason we booked. How do you expect us to use just the 1 towel for shower & pool and no change of towel for 4 days?

We came to Gold Coast for our holiday as my partner’s birthday was during our stay. I’d like to say thank you to hotel staff team to making my partner’s birthday special. There was birthday card and complementary bottle of wine for him. This hotel is close to transport station such as tram and bus. Easy to get heat of surfers paradise. We were lucky enough to have ocean views so we really enjoyed the room and view. Room was clean, comfortable. Staff were nice and kind. We asked staff about theme parks and the staff was so helpful. There were indoor and outdoor Swimming pools, water slide, jacuzzi, sauna, gym and BBQ facilities available. Car park fee was included to the price, that was bonus! We really enjoyed stay at Mantra Sun City.

The bed was little bit uncomfortable… it might we love our bed so much 😅

- Children under 10 were unsupervised in the spa with inflatable by floating - men drinking alcohol in cans in spa - People eating in the spa there was even a woman eating her banana while in the spa - unsupervised children under 10 yelling for no reasons in the indoor heated pool. - men talking on their phones in the sauna - large groups of people were hogging the bbq area very intimidating if you want to go to the outdoor pool deck area

we liked how central it was to everything.

I wasn’t impressed with how we could only have 1 car park & there were 3 couples who didn’t all come in one car. The other couple had to park 3 blocks away with a baby. Also I booked a cot when I made the reservation, paided for the cot when the room was paided for & then charged again on arrival, only to not get the cot. I was only refunded 1 lot of the money. Also for the amount we paided the floors were absolutely filthy. The babies socks where black along with our feet.

Beautiful foyer, pools, rooms clean, great views, close to everything!

Reception could have been more welcoming. We have stayed twice within the last year and a half, on both occasions we’ve gotten an average welcome. I have several years experience in my 20x and 30’s working front desk reception in Sydney Hotels. Greeting of your guests should begin with genuine enthusiasm and a smile. But the reception staff were generally a bit boring and lacking personality

Cool themed Mayan hotel. The retro aesthetic adds to the charm. Stayed in an ocean view room and the pleasure of having the balcony door open means you could fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves. Heated pool and spa is a plus. The beach is right at your door and Cavill Avenue is a short walk with many restaurants nearby Perfect for our honeymoon. Would go back to this place again and again to relive the wonderful time we had.

Avoid breakfast buffet at Koastal Kitchen: it is uninspiring and your money is better off at a local beachside cafe

The view of the beach was amazing from 28th floor. The water slides were a highlight. Massive bathroom and kitchen was very clean. Easy access to the beach and multiple eating places. Fantastic location within walking distance of everything you need. Staff were accommodating and friendly always happy to help.

Hair-dryer in room has a safety thing that turns it off after a few minutes and my hair couldn't dry. Heater in indoor pool was broken and not working. Public heated spas were rather dirty. Pillows in the room were very uncomfortable, used couch ones instead.
