Getaway On Grafton

spacious 2nd floor room with lovely view of pool from a sunny balcony. The apartment had everything we needed . The hosts were full of information on the area. The apartment was perfectly located 10 minute walk to shopping and dining areas and easy access to Captain Cook Highway for excursions. The automatic gate to parking area was great for security and parking under the building was not completely sealed off to the outside, so the breeze kept the area fresh and daylight gave good visibility to access and load vehicles. stairs to apartment were covered from elements and close to our vehicle.

the pool was nice, but we found by the time we got back in early evening that the sun had gone down behind building and shaded the pool area. also their tended to be a slightly cool breeze while we were there which didn't help when getting out of pool.

On the edge of the CBD, a nice walk in. Secure gated complex. The surrounds are kept very clean, the pool is in the centre of the apartments.There is a BBQ area if required.A vending machine is onsite for cold drinks and snacks.We had the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom deluxe apartment which led out to the pool.The apartment was very clean,with air conditioning in the bedrooms and the longe room,as well as fans. There were 2 large showers with great hot water, which didn,t need constant adjusting.The apartment was spacious and everything provided. We were very happy with the apartment,where we stayed for 2 weeks.The pool is kept clean, there is a spa as well.We felt it was good value for money, nice quiet area. We were happy with our stay.House keeping staff were friendly.

The apartment was clean. The logistic around checking in and checking out was easy and well communicated.

Furniture etc was clean but basic. Not located close to Esplanade etc. Needed taxis for most commutes given the humid weather. Supplies provided were very limited. For a 4 night stay for 3 people, 4 tea bags were provided and we were expected to buy from a supermarket if more was required. For the pricing, more refills could have been provided.

Lovely cool apartments, didn't need to use the air conditioning once in October. Spacious apartment. Beds comfortable. Warm shady pool in the afternoon mostly sheltered from the afternoon wind. Walking distance to everywhere we needed to go in cairns . It was also very quiet.

TV was very small which although wouldn't bother most we needed some kind of entertainment after toddler went to bed! Mostly corrected by moving the lounge closer

It was a good location. The apartment was fully stocked with laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid etc. I didn't use the pool but from the sound of the kids, they loved it.

TV reception was very poor in the mornings. My only annoyance was my neighbours who moved in on Thursday. A group of men who spent the night outside talking and laughing until quite late. There is nothing the staff can do about the inconsideration of others though.

Kevin provided exceptional service. He was knowledgeable of the area for everything. From how to visit the Great Barrier Reef in the midst of stormy weather. To making all the arrangements. Sooooo stress free. Where to eat, drink and the best of Cairns. You can't getting better than that when you're traveling and want to focus on enjoying your trip. And even modified our stay when plans changed. So accommodating. We cancelled our other booking at a 5 star accomodation because of Kevin's services. Parking was safe and easy. We had direct access to our reasonably priced 2 bedroom 2 bath with full kitchen. And access direct access to the pool with our deck.

Australia are using blue white LED lightbulbs.

It is a little distant from the tourist/business district, About 20 - 30 mins

Air conditioning fan outside the room made the balcony hot and noisy

Emily at the reception was so wonderful. The weather wasn't the best, so she recommended us a tour that could be enjoyed in bad weather. She called a taxi for us on the departure day and when it took a while to come, she came out of the reception to check on us. She offered to call again to find out how far the taxi was. She was so considerate and helpful. Thank you so much, Emily!

The bathrooms were a little dated and I saw mouldy bits here and there. The room smelled a bit mouldy, too, but with the wet summer we had this year, it cannot be helped, I guess.

We really enjoyed staying at Getaway on Grafton . Our apartment was super clean , very bright, comfortable beds, good pillows , spare towels. Pool was amazing, water was super warm and clean , even warmer in Jacuzzi. Emily at reception was super helpful , recommended and booked for us the best places to visit, outstanding customer service !

All good
