Savoy Hotel

Each time I travel to Buenos Aires I stay at the Savoy. I like the venue itself and its location. It keeps a bit of the old BA charm.

Operationally it can be improved. The receptionist almost accused me I'm illegally staying in Argentina because he couldn't see my visa, he didn't know what Apple Pay is and when he finally checked me in he sent me to the wrong room, where there were other guests already - all this around midnight, after a 5h trip. He would be one of the reasons I am doubting my return.

Classic, timeless, iconic, loved it! Top quality crisp white bed linen. Extremely comfy mattresses and pillows. Spottless bathrooms. Really hot water (extremely enjoyable during the cold time of the year). Good water pressure. Cozy and well decorated rooms. Food quality during breakfast. Very nice and helpful stuff.

-I was disappointed about grayish color really old and nasty bathrobes (which are supposed to be white and crisp). We changed a few rooms during our stay and the situation was the same in all the rooms. -Exactly the same breakfast choice every day! Considering that the choice of the food was not great, it became very boring after a few days to eat all the same. -Really tiny windows in most of the hotel rooms, and all of them covered with the frosted film, no view, not enough light, very disappointing. (In fact, they have a few rooms with the view, but I am not sure how you can book these rooms. Maybe there is an option “room with the view” on the web site, but I am not sure about that.)

Grand old building with large rooms that have beautiful 1920s Art Deco cornice coving & ceiling decorations. The hotel has an opulent feel & when you read about the previous residents you can image bumping into Albert Einstein or Evita Peron on the staircase.

Largely the staff were not attentive enough. The bar area is popular, but the two staff manning it don’t spot you walking in & taking a seat, so you wait ages to be served. Tables are not cleared so remain festooned with dirty crockery & many of the ingredients for cocktails etc are not in stock. The same issues arise at breakfast with fresh pastries, yogurt etc running out & not being spotted by the staff. This can be easily remedied with some customer service training & effective management overseeing things.

Good breakfast; lots of choice. Nice dining room; well presented. Staff made us an breakfast to put in our fridge as we had an early AM departure. All staff accommodating and pleasant. Location perfect for walking to historic buildings. The Savoy has a grand historic feeling to it. The rooms are very comfortable with good beds and quiet. We stayed at the Savoy twice during our visit to Argentina and loved it! We will stay again when we return to Buenos Aires on our next trip. Restaurant served gourmet food, delicious and well-priced. We had 3 of our 4 dinners there as we found it so appealing.

Nothing negative.

Beautiful hotel which has updated. Some lovely traditional spaces. Easily accessible for the sites of Buenos Aries. We were able to walk to many places of interest. Breakfast had plenty of choice. Staff serviced the area well and kept tables clean and tidy. We enjoyed the variety of food and attentiveness of staff. One porter, Daniel, who looked after us was really helpful and gave us lots of ideas of where to visit during our short stay.

The taxi that was 'flagged down' for us when we left was not metered and we were extremely disappointed to be charged so much for the ride. It was extortionate. Left a bitter taste really which we of course relate to our stay at the Hotel.

Wonderful Atmosphere in a traditional "Grand Hotel" at an affordable price (The Savoy has hosted celebrities like Evita Peron and Albert Einstein in its long history). Beautiful Art Deco Building in a quite central location. Very spacious rooms. Great breakfast!

It is very hard to keep cleanliness at a perfect level in such an older building. That does not mean the Savoy is not clean, but if meticulous cleanliness is your number 1 concern you may want to stay in a newer hotel. As far as we are concerned, we loved the place and would definitely go again when we get back to Bs. As.

The front desk staff was very helpful with any request. They helped us secure a taxi to the airport when city was shut down to celebrate the World Cup win. The include breakfast provides a variety tasty fresh foods. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced.

Most of the lobby bar staff provided very poor service for any non-Spanish speaking customers, even though we could speak Spanish. They would recognize you needed service and then then would just ignore you. The manager was informed and hopefully made changes.

The location is excellent and on the main street to avoid quiet at the night time. Right in the city centre and close to the subway station (but I didn't try to take). Easy to take Uber to anywhere and airport. The size of room is good and spacious. Staffs are nice and helpful.

Wi-Fi is very slow. The breakfast is good but can be improved.

It is a beautiful old building however the decor was very tired. The staff were generally very courteous and friendly. It was a convenient location to access the majority of sights in the city.

Although very clean, the decor was in need of refurbishing. Lampshades and carpets needed replacing. The shower/bath combination also needed upgrading as the bath surface was very degraded. Our room was on the front of the building and although the windows we’re double-glazed, road noise was still an issue.

Very beautiful hotel, event though the building seemed to be an old one the rooms are new and modern and the arhitecture is very beautiful. Staff was very helpful, mr Fisherman also gave us the room earlier for check in which we were very happy about and also they help you woth any information uou might need.

Only minus was the orientation of our room - the view was very beautiful we were directly at the main street but it was a bit noisy so if you are a light sleeper try requesting a room on the other side.
