Franca City Hostel

- Air conditioned everywhere at all times, which is rare - Very nice staff - Everything is super modern and high quality, as should be expected at this price - Especially the locker setup in the beds is great, with plugs inside the lockers - You get a key to the door - Very nice layout of the whole hostel, with dedicated areas for chilling together, cooking/eating, and working quietly

- The bathrooms are small and offer little privacy. The men's bathroom had very bad air, probably the ventilation was broken - The atmosphere was not super social, it was difficult to meet people organically here - prices were a bit too steep when I stayed there

Loved this hostel! The building has a cool feel with old architecture. Beds were comfy with curtains and your own light. The kitchen and bathrooms were nice and clean. They have a great little co-working space upstairs as well as plenty of comfy couches.

I really liked the facilities: great kitchen space, living room, and co-working space. Bunks are spacious, private, and the mattresses are really comfortable. The staff was kind. I felt like the currency exchange here was fair, if you need to exchange a little money in a pinch. Super clean overall.

Showers need hooks/shelves. Like everywhere I've stayed/eaten, I wish the wastebaskets in the toilets were emptied more frequently. The location is not ideal and can be a little interesting given the current political situation, but I would most likely choose to stay here again given all the positives :))

i had a wonderful and great stay, place was conducive for making friends or doing work. they had the whole second floor dedicated for that. big kitchen with a refillable water station (save plastic bottles!).Hostel workers were great, especially Sebastian and a brazilian girl who just started out there, they were helpful and tried their best with everything. Last but not least, kudos to the cleaning lady, hostel was spick and span for the week i was there, even when it had 100% capacity.

-The first few nights i was given a bed that kept creaking, i felt bad when i got in super late at night. only the bedframe was filmsy, bed was alright. -And this is why they did not get a 10, they needed my credit card number, security pin and expiry date. not sure if it was stored or not but i was very unhappy that they needed/had full access to my credit card details..

I like the staff at this property especially a gal name Sol. it was my first time in Argentina, and she has provided me with tons of information on how to get around the cities, attractions, activities, food, etc. she even gave me a map with drawings. I don’t speak Spanish at all but luckily her English was great! location of this hostel is great, prices was reasonable for a hostel, very clean. I would recommend this hostel to any future travelers. ask for Sol.

the drive from the airport to the hostel was pretty far. the hostel was a little hidden. I wish there was a sign in front saying the hostel name.

What I liked : - modern, clean and very pleasant - excellent dorm beds, very comfortable, with a privacy curtain, a little shelf and a lockable cupboard behind the curtain, which is a great little extra. - location is wonderful, as it's literally outside the Suenz Pena metro station. - excellent showers (very hot water available at a good flow rate) - staff. They were all really welcoming, but one guy really stands out - Eduardo. He didn't behave like an employee, but more like a friend and he gave me an enormous amount of help and assistance saved me $$$ on a ferry trip to Montevideo. He went beyond what was expected and I really enjoyed his conversations, his immense knowledge and friendly manner. Oh.....they can change money at reception too (not quite blue dollar rate, but good enough), so no need to withdraw Pesos from an expensive airport ATM (I made the mistake of doing that) when arriving here. Just bring US dollars, convert here and then pay your accommodation costs.

Nothing really. This is not a criticism, but it would be amazing to have some outside space, esp in the hot weather. But the structure of the building is such that this is not possible. However, there is an awesome plaza mariano moreno literally 1 minutes walk away.

Staff was nice and helpful

It was a great surprise for me. I sadly stayed only one nite, but everything was so nice and comfortable.. I could not sleep well but that was some noisy guests. Which is not Franca 's fault. Even though that I had great experience and I was helped a lot by Emanuel and Beatriz.. Sorry guys if I haven't written your names well.. But u were great! Million of thanks!

great central location lots of buses round about, kitchen was good. hostel is small and quiet with plenty of work space and a few sofas. it’s good they have Netflix! lockers at beds was also a great thing

unfortunately our dorm was noisy but that’s nothing to do with the hostel was just the guests. recommend having somewhere in showers to put your toiletries

Very modern hostel in terms of design, furniture, amenities, and location. It is catered to both those who are traveling and working. The best part of this hostel in particular is that it is located in the heart of the city in the a non-party area. The location made it very easy to walk to the major points of interest in the city without the need for taking a taxi/subway/rideshare at least for me.

Because it's in the center of the city on Av de Mayo, it can and often is quite noisy. Couple that with some nights where your hostel mates are being loud and having some drinks it could get unpleasant if you're a light sleeper like myself. I suggest you bring some good ear plugs and combine those with noise cancelling headphones to get through a night's sleep. It definitely helped me! Be careful of when you shower: Hot water is usually very fickle at either day or night so you could be showering with lukewarm or scalding hot water! Some of the hostel mates nearly finished my coffee despite me labeling it but I did not mind as it was a cheap brand anyway.
