Caravelle Saigon

Good 5 star quality, beautifully decorated rooms, all the comfort you can expect, everything well thought through. Nice bathroom with large shower. Beds are large but way too soft for me. Good sound isolation from the honking motorbikes in the street below. The view on the opera house would be nice but windows were dirty as hell. Very nice pool with palms around, large enough to actually go swimming. Good level of service, friendly staff, late check out. Lots of shops, bars and restaurant around. Around 30mins to the airport, Grab app works very poor in Saigon, download Vinasun taxi app - much more reliable. I made 3 bookings with that hotel, on one of them I was offered a discount for the room service, on the other ones not, no idea how does that work.

Check in and check out are usually smoother at other hotels in this category. It was hard to figure out the positions on the invoice, had to ask them for a correction, because the staff gets lost with that system.

I stayed at Caravelle the second week after Vietnam reopened in 2022. Everything was excellent, and I don't just say that lightly. Considering the fact that this is a locally owned and managed hotel, not an international chain, every aspect of this hotel exceeded my expectation. First, the room is exactly the right size, very comfortable, has beautiful design. Bathroom has a shower, and no bathtub, but that's perfectly okay with me. Wifi is reasonably fast. The best part is the view overlooking the Opera House and the walking street area. It's in the center of District 1 where all the best restuarants and shops are a 5-min walk away. The breakfast is very good.

I can't think of anything I don't like about the hotel. The only complaint I have is about the breakfast buffet. Unlike in most US hotels, coffee must be ordered when you arrive at the restaurant, and that usually takes a few minute to make, and is served by the very nice staff. For people who drinks at least two cups of the very nice coffee, you have to wait for your coffee every morning.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel for 4 nights. We stayed in a king room with the signature lounge excess. 1. Great location. You can walk to many attractions and shopping. 2. Very clean and comfortable room. 3. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Service orientated. They were fantastic. 4. We enjoyed many drinks and canopies at the signature lounge & the roof top bar. Everything was perfect.

Unfortunately, on the last morning of our stay I had food poisoning. We had breakfast at 6.30am, and checked out at 7am straight to the airport to catch our flight to SG. On the way to the airport i was feeling unwell and threw up in the plane and taxi and had severe diarrhoea. I had to go to ED in SG for treatment.

should be nothing, there were 2 thing made my experience a bit disturbed; I booked for 2 night but the reception only made key for 1 night, have to go up and down to unlocked my key, on my first stay they didn’t ask for any deposit which also I believed they have upgrade my room to higher category, this time the reception have asked for deposit (I remember the name but I guess she is new) and mentioned there were some mistake from the hotel with booking.con about the rate; I don’t understand this, I booked the room with access to the lounge and paid the higher rate as I choose to pay in the hotel, although I made payment before my arrival. likely they have very poor guest recognition; noted i choose to checked in at the reception instead of at the executive lounge, in both of my stays.

We had a great experience at the Caravelle. Like the rest of the post-Covid world, it was different, but not disappointing.

The Saigon Saigon Rooftop bar was being renovated. It is a pity that this was not done during the Covid shutdown of the country.

Good equipment and service, the quality of accommodation is very high。 This stay is a honeymoon, the hotel is very carefully decorated and small surprises. I think it's very thoughtful.

The accommodation experience is very good. One suggestion is that the bath products are refilled due to environmental protection. Please ask the room staff to check whether they can be used again. In addition, the part of the toilet has a flushing function, and it is also necessary to ask the cleaning staff to clean the flushing head thoroughly. It is best to use a warm toilet seat, which is more in line with the image of a high class hotel.

The room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable (it seems like the hotel has different mattress firmnesses for different tastes), the shower was quite large, housekeeping was good, and the soundproofing between rooms was good as well…overall the room was very pleasant. The gym was well-equipped and open 24-7, which was great. The pool area was relaxing, and there was a jacuzzi in the locker room.

On the first and second morning, there was a an outdoor concert with loudspeakers right across the street, which started at 8am one day and 6am the next! While the hotel can’t prevent this noise, they did seem to know the concert schedule — when I asked about switching rooms after the second day, they told me that the following days would have no more noise, which was correct — so it would’ve been nice to be warned about these concerts upon checkin. I would’ve gladly taken a room without the opera view in exchange for being able to sleep in. Besides the noise, though, the hotel was perfect. It’s not cheap, but you get a nice experience

The room was lovely, the view over the river was magical and the bed just so comfortable. There was plenty of storage space in the bathroom and bedroom areas. The toiletries were generous and of high quality. The historic bar upstairs in the old section had a generous happy hour with superb city views. The location was excellent.

It was such a shame that the casino had taken over what I presume had been the restaurant area upstairs. That would have been a perfect area for the high tea and breakfasts which we considered before arriving. But unfortunately, the ambience of the coffee shop and nearby restaurant downstairs was not amenable to the elegance for which I was hoping as they were both very noisy being adjacent to the main downstairs corridor.

They don’t have computer room to check flight or check-in. You have to buy $27/day to access the signature lounge & use computer. The lounge serve snack at happy hours 5-7pm & drink all day. But too boring! Guests have to dress up in casual business just like going to a serious meeting to use the lounge. at first walk in, there are 3-4 server ask your room #, checking system if you paid for service. Not worth to buy $27/day for boring style lounge.
