Bay Hotel Ho Chi Minh

The customer service provided by the front desk staff is excellent. (1) We had two stays a week apart at this property. The staff, who checked us in for our second stay, could remember us and she immediately passed us a powerbank that we left at the hotel after our first stay. Her name is Chelsea or Julie. (2) One of the staff was busy with the checking in when we checked out after our second stay and booked a Grab rider. However the Grab driver who didn't want to take us to the airport and he couldn't communicate with us in English. I had to ask the staff, a young man on duty on Sat 11 Feb morning, to quickly help me to talk to the Grab driver that I would need him to cancel the ride. The staff came to assist us. I cannot ask for a better location at this price point. It is close to the Saigon River riverside and I could go to jog there easily though it is a challenge to cross the road with the heavy traffic of cars and motorcycles. They even upgraded us to better rooms for our second stay.

(1) The "Grand Deluxe Double River & Town View" room is not what I expected. The view of the river side was blocked by a building. One could only see a little bit of the river from the sides. I wouldn't think it is worthwhile to pay a premium for such a view. However the view of the riverside from the rooftop swimming pool is good. Please see attached photo. (1) It looked like I am charged twice for a safety deposit of 1,000,000 VND for my second stay which was completed yesterday. One of the two charges was reversed. However one remained. It should only be one safety deposit. At the time of this writing, I am still pursuing the matter with property messages through booking.com.

Great location near Japan town and many cafes and restaurants. It’s also surprisingly quiet. The staff were kind and helpful and even printed some documents for me. It has a pool and rooftop bar (but the bar was always closed and pool didn’t look clean). It also has restaurant but I never went. I also really enjoyed the free snacks and drinks in the room. Good for a short stay.

Room were quite small for the price. Check in and check out were a bit slow. The rooftop bar was always closed and the rooftop pool was small and seemed very cloudy. The restaurant was always dead and way too expensive so I never went. My biggest concern - the shower in our room was very strange. It was right next to the bed and there was a sliding door to close it, but the water still poured out at the bottom onto the carpet. Very inefficient setup if you ask me. I hope they change this soon. Also, please remove the carpet - it will get damp and moldy.

The hotel is well situated, just a short walk and you are on the main street in to town. Room was clean and adequate. a good choice of breakfast and they offer an evening meal and late checkout. Friendly staff.

A lot of building work all around the hotel which seems to go on all night. The hotel needs to work on its sound proofing, anyone talking in the corridors we could hear as well as the building work out side. The top restaurant and bar was not open which was disappointing.

Location was really good. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good. Staff was very helpful

The only thing is the water plumb was noisy i.e. had some noise coming from water plumb system. That was the only downside of the room.

Very nice hotel. The staff Is really helpful and friendly. Top breakfast buffet and very good restaurant. Position perfect to reach the city center in only 5 minute walk. Highly recommended. The location was good close to the river in District 1 and conveniently situated for Restaurants and sightseeing. The gym was small but functional. A big plus was the free mini bar, which was replenished daily.

No hand showers with the toilet, which most places in Vietnam seem to have these days.

Friendly and helpful staff that recommended a room upgrade (had initially booked no view) for staying 5 nights. Beds/pillows were really comfortable so slept really good.

Availability of the hotels food menu. When we had a day at the rooftop pool I needed to go with my 5th choice.

Great Value for money hotel in a convinient location to explore the city day & night. The bed was comfortable and the towels/sheets feel like brand new! Very Good variety & quality in breakfast. The staff is helpful.

The lighting in the room need some improvement

simple design makes the rooms easy to see that they are clean

possibly a bit better information service in the reception, as maps and or similar could make it easier as a tourist

The location of the hotel was amazing. There were a lot of spa places around and is in walking distance to the city center. Value/money was, hotel is superb. Not so fancy but decent and clean. Rooms were spacious. Staff was very helpful.

A bit outdated. Could be renevated but thats fine as well.
