Stafford House Bed & Breakfast

Stayed there last night. Arrived about time it was to be available (2 pm). The proprietor met us outside and guided us in, she told us a bit about the house and asked why we were there, suggested places to eat and we did go to a very close place. She told us how to get to the venue and left us be. The room was super quiet and clean which was what you would want. When we got back, she greeted us, asked how it went then let us be if we didn't need anything. Next morning, she came in with a lovely fresh breakfast and she it was fresh and better than most restaurants. Hello, fresh fruit etc. Oh the shower was large, nice freestanding tub and Fluffy towels the way I buy my own. The bed was comfy. We left, seeing a nice kept garden as we left. I would recommend this to anyone. It was better than most hotels and honestly, to see a woman working it like that is inspiring. I used to be sketchy about B&B's. Reviews like mine are your friend. Make sure you do research so you get a good one like this. No complaints. Slightly busy road so be Careful going it as we drive past it a half a block but after we turned around we got it. Oh near lots of restaurants and shopping. Nearby access to Wolftrap (13 min up the road)

Very minor; nothing owner can do, road was a bit busy and hard to get in and out of. not bad though. Shouldn't complain hardly I guess!

I booked a room at Stafford House three hours before I was to arrive. I called ahead after receiving booking.com confirmation and the owner was friendly, ready and met me at the door when I showed up. The room and bathroom exceeded my expectations: Lovely vintage furniture, clawfoot tub, giant shower, beautiful decor and lighting. The breakfast was also bigger and better than I expected, and delivered to my room at the hour I requested. I could not have been more happy with my experience. This property is walking distance to the main thoroughfare of historic downtown Fairfax. My room did face the street and I could hear some traffic noise, but it died down as the evening progressed and did not bother me at all.

Excellent waffle and sausage breakfast with very thoughtful accommodation of spouse's gluten sensitivity. Lovely and comfortable setting close to downtown restaurants, wine shops. Donna is a very friendly, thoughtful, and helpful host (rescued us when we locked ourselves out shortly after arrival!! - Thanks again, Donna!).

No complaints - property was as described, hosting was exceptional, and setting/accommodations were perfect for the end of our vacation!

Oh my gosh! If I could visit the Stafford House more often I would! Donna is beyond welcoming, was responsive to any question/need I had. Our towels were exchanged daily, which was very nice. The tub was FANTASTIC, we never ran out of hot water! Breakfast was to die for - her pancakes are the best pancakes I've ever had (sorry mom!). This was beyond my expectations of a Bed & Breakfast. Honestly, Donna has probably set the bar too high for any other place I may stay in the future!

The only negative thing I can say is that this is 7 hours from my home & I can't visit more often!

The location is central to everything in the Fairfax area. The property is beautiful, and the breakfast was "over-the-top"! We loved the breakfast cart! Very quiet which made for a good night's sleep. The bathroom is not only beautiful, but very modern. It truly was a very enjoyable stay, just not long enough. Donna is the perfect and considerate host! She made us feel right at home. We not only look forward to staying here again, but also highly recommend it!

Everything was great!

The proximity to Washington DC was convenient. The accommodations were exceptional, cozy, and romantic. Probably one of the most comfortable beds I have slept on. The Jacuzzi and bathroom were next level. The breakfast each morning was incredible. Overall, a very memorable stay. I would go back in a heartbeat.

A very minor thing, but some of the light switches were a little confusing. The one overhead light would come on and off at random times when we had the switch on, and we never did find the light for over the bed.

EVERYTHING was amazing. Donna went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, comfortable, and at home. She made us a delicious honeymoon breakfast and suggested a lovely place for dinner. She even called us from the store to make sure we had what we needed. We will definitely be back!

Nothing except leaving! Wish we could have stayed longer! It was a fantastic experience!

We loved the room, especially the comfortable bed, the more modern bathroom, and the breakfast table. Our host Donna is amazing! And breakfasts were wonderful, delivered to the room exactly when we requested! We just loved the comfort and all the personal touches.

Probably best to have a rental car, which we didn't. While walking to downtown Fairfax is a breeze, getting into DC is straightforward but quite long (bus to the orange line into DC).

The location was convenient to restaurants and shopping. Donna's banana nut muffins were absoutely amazing. A true Bed & Breakfast with expectional beauty. I would recommend it to friends. Also, would stay again.

Bed pillows could have been better. Aside from that I have no compliants, wished my schedule would have allowed me to stay longer.

The room is a bit on the dark side, however the bathroom is huge, and very well lit. The breakfast was awesome and the lady owner was super nice and very accommodating (she tried to be creative with the breakfast since I had some diet restrictions). The location is perfect as you can walk to a lot of places (restaurants, pharmacy, stores, etc. ).
