Waterside Inn

Great value, beautiful view from balcony, and nice breakfast offered.

I wish they explained what their “grab and go” breakfast meant at check in. I went down to the lobby the morning after with vouchers for me and my fiancé thinking I was just going to pick up two brown bags of food like what most places do when they do “grab and go.” But instead I had to make several different breakfast selections for me and my partner and then attempt to carry it all back up to the room alone. Had I been told at check in about the breakfast spread, my partner and I would have gone down together. It was a nice selection of food (waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, etc), but I couldn’t carry meals back easily for two which was aggravating.

We loved the room view, a “sea view” queen), the bed was super comfy, the location to some shops and restaurants was convenient. Our room was quiet, clean and well arranged, a sofa and big arm chair added to the appeal. The Waterside has a private pier for fishing or just relaxing. The breakfasts were grab and go. The staff were super friendly and made us feel very welcome. We hope to return next year!

No hot water in the breakfast room for tea, and breakfast was for take out only, due to covid restrictions. The rug in our room needs a good shampooing!

We had a great stay at the Waterside Inn! Rooms were clean and comfortable with a nice balcony. The swimming pool was well maintained, and the view outside was great! Breakfast was good and the staff was great, thank you!

We had the privacy sign hung on the door knob, however Housekeeping did enter the room when we weren't there. We preferred that they not enter, but not a big deal. Thank you!

The location of the Inn was perfect! With walking distance to several cute shops and delicious restaurants. Best of all it’s right on the water, so every night you get to experience a beautiful sunset; whether you’re sitting on their private dock or floating in the pool!

The Inn was a pretty far distance from the bridge to the wildlife refuge. Also, there were some areas of our room that were kind of dirty, (i.e. shower and carpet). But other than that, it did the trick.

We love the location of this hotel and the water views are beautiful. We love the pool right next to the water, too. They have a great pier. They also have a good breakfast. All the staff are very friendly and the cleaning crew does a great job.

I really can't complain about anything. This is a great establishment.

Amazing views of the bay. The laid back environment was refreshing.

No smoking at most places let you smoke on the balcony. There is no smoking on the property . 250$ dollar fine if caught. they have no smoking section at all. Kinda ruined my idea of vacation to smoke on the pavement. Not even a bench when sitting on the pavement smoking.To add injury to insult certain areas have cigarette butts on the ground by the pool an steps. Not sure if the no smoking was just implemented but at-least remove evidence of past smoking on the property if it will be enforced so harshly.

The room was large, had two sinks and exhaust fan. The porch was great. The pier was fantastic, crabbing was fun, and the staff was friendly

We were in the first floor and it was a bit loud from creaking floor above. If you're a sound sleeper this probably wouldn't bother you. Breakfast was a bit small.

We absolutely love the location of this hotel and the room views are wonderful. The pool is in a great setting where we can look out at the water and the pier. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the breakfast quite decent for these times that have been changed by Covid. We love the atmosphere of Chincoteague and would recommend Waterside Inn.

The beds were nice but a little too soft for us. The hot tub seemed to have too many chemicals and made us cough at one point. We really like this place so it is hard to find much to criticize.

The staff is so wonderful and were able to accommodate our large family that traveled in for a wedding. The location is hands-down the best on the island - water views from every room; the dock is a nice perk; picnic tables to eat the hot free breakfast each morning; the pool is open late which is perfect for after spending the entire day walking through town or after a day at the beach. We recommended this hotel to our family and they exceeded everyone’s expectations! We all plan to meet here again in September.

The rooms are slightly dated, but they are working on updating the bathrooms. We spend a lot of time traveling to beach towns each summer, so we were prepared for the musty smell in the rooms. It’s not unbearable, but takes some getting used to.

Really enjoyed our stay at the Waterside Inn, the staff was wonderful from check-in to check-out. The hotel was super clean, and the room was spacious and equipped with everything a traveler could ask for including a coffee maker with wonderful coffee pods, big fridge, and a balcony with a beautiful view. There is a lot of attention to detail here, and a lot of care. The spacious onsite parking and elevator are an added bonus. Great hotel!
