Best Western Plus High Country Inn

Pretty much everything. The woman at the desk was great, really welcoming us and our therapy dog. There is an off leash little area, as well as a wonderful trail with a pond. A restaurant on the property which the receptionist said was the best in the area although I think I would debate that. A full hot breakfast in the morning, we were given a room on the main floor with an outside entrance, which is great with a pet. All in all, we were so impressed. Five stars. Rating of 10. Whatever.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property. Parking was easy, heavy, secure doors to each room, etc.

The breakfast was good, convenient and pleasant. We didn't mind at all that the maids did not come into the room until we left. Making the bed is not a problem for us. The refrigerator was a better size than most in motels and was cold enough to keep items cold enough to be refreshing.

The bed was too hard. The first night it was seemed like it would be okay, but it got harder to adjust our bodies to every night. One of our key cards did not work properly and had to be replaced the second day. WHAT IS UP WITH THE ROOM RATE DIFFERENT EVERY NIGHT? Nothing was said about that on the website nor when we checked in. We've never had that anywhere unless it was stated upfront! We didn't have any kind of room service or ask for anything additional.

it doesn’t even feel like a motel. it is clean, comfortable, very beautiful lobby, amenities (jacuzzi, the pool, gym) are very clean and look so nice, backyard of the hotel (right out of pool room) is also so beautiful. they even have event lodge. front desk ladies are so welcoming, soo friendly. separate thank you to them! they made sure I was staying comfortable there. there’s also restaurants/dining right in front of this beautiful motel which makes it so convenient. whoever runs this motel is doing amazing job.

I have nothing but good things to say.

It was clean, and put together nicely. The pond and garden area also very beautiful and helped make the decision to try it out. It was nice having a continental breakfast, my family isn't huge on breakfast everyday, but it's great being able to have something easy when you're traveling.

The hours for the breakfast being a little longer would have been nice. With time zone changes while traveling it wasn't easy to make it in the time frame given for breakfast.

great location, beautiful grounds , excellent restaurant on property, spa was wonderful, once it was operational, the breakfast and selection was good and maintained well during the meal time (never running out of food even during busy times)

the spa was out of order when we arrived but was backing about 90 minutes before the pool closed for a he night, the shower jell in the shower was empty in our room but fortunately there was a face bar at the sink so we were able to wash up

The grounds are absolutely beautiful, I was impressed! I loved the koi ponds, waterfall, and walking paths in the back. The mountains in the distant background just add to the serene landscape. The pool and hot tub were very clean and my family really enjoyed them. We appreciate that there were pool noodles for the kid's to play with in the pool. The room was huge, clean and comfortable. The only issue was our mini fridge wasn't working properly but as soon as I notified the front desk within a matter of minutes that issue was taken care of. The breakfast was delicious. Three of the four desk people we interacted with were super nice, friendly, and helpful. We would definitely stay here again if we ever find ourselves in Odgen again.

We would prefer that the breakfast start at 6:00am instead of 7:00am for those who need to get an early start and hit the road. At breakfast my son grabbed a milk for his cereal and when he went to pour it it was curdled. The dates on the milk are not being monitored closely enough because after we realized it was curdled we found many that were passed their expiration date.The only other issue was that the timer on one of the waffle makers wasn't working so you just have to watch it closely and kinda time it yourself. Other than that it was great.

It’s a good location and always clean.

Whoever was cleaning the room next to us was quite loud. I know they didn’t know the reason for us staying there, as it was medical. I was preparing for a medical procedure and was up all night. I tried to get some sleep in the morning before we left but it was very difficult because the cleaning staff person was constantly slamming the door next to our room.

Great breakfast! The landscaping was nice to walk around on the property even with snow, I bet it is a wonderful place to stay during the summer time with the outdoor fireplaces and pond. Has a private dog park for guests and the gym,pool and jacuzzi were nice and well kept.

Some of the front desk staff were not as kind as others, such that they were snarky and didn’t seem to care or were bothered/irritated by any needs of the guest. The rooms itself was nice, however ended up in room 154 which stated online as a queen size bed and was more of a full size, then tried using the shower and the shower handle fell completely off. Ended up getting bumped up to a king size bed in room 254 which was a huge difference from the “queen” size bed before. The bathroom in 254 was VERY small, and lacked any sort caulking or finishing around the shower faucet and nozzle which made it wiggle and move every time you would touch it.

Nice "Germanic Geppetto mountain cottage" appeal, obviously antique but in a good way 'cause it's decently kept-up so it doesn't look run-down in closer inspection. You can't get these cosey aesthetics in any contemporary construction. The staff is especially helpful and friendly, had a chance to visit with both shifts, nice people. We had to leave too early for the breakfast, so I can't comment on it. Highly recommended, especially if you like the feel of authentic dark stain wood timbers, etc.

Many, Many thanks to Josh the night manager. His service and ability to work with us to get the rooms we needed was an effort that in my opinion went above and beyond the normal call of duty. It is extremely refreshing and comforting to know that Best Western has staff like Josh to be there when travelers need them. He was not only understanding of our situation but went out of his way multiple times in order to keep my family comfortable. While we do not stay in Ogden often, the next time we are in the area I plan on staying at this location.

Both AC units we stayed in (room 202/203) need to be updated. The unit in 202 has a broken panel that needs repair. There appears to be no easy way to adjust for coolness/heat.
