Ramada by Wyndham College Station

Beautiful furnishings, spacious room, ample bathroom counter space, Dove brand toiletries, Texas-shaped waffle maker, good tasting breakfast in large breakfast area, nice staff, immaculately clean, no arms on comfortable rolling chair so the desk could be useful without wacking up against the desk, excellent small-lamps lighting, 100% cotton towels. Nice to have had a fridge and microwave. Parking is close.

Ceiling lights are eye-painful “blue” LEDs when they could have been the “warm” LEDs; not sure what bedsheets’ fabric is made of, but weird textile; time-consuming, unmarked alley approach to find the hotel from older section of College Station.

I loved that it was a very affordable price and right next to the Texas A and M campus that we visited. There were also lots of shops and food items within walking distance. The breakfast wasn't great, but it was alright with warm and cold options. The rooms were very spacious, and the pool looked very inviting.

My only complaint would be about the fitness room. Both the elliptical and the treadmill were damaged and/or bad quality. That just creates a dangerous environment, so I decided to not even work out. When it is 106 degrees outside and a hotel claims to have a fitness room, that fitness room should have a good quality working treadmill at the least.

Fair. Always prefer a restaurant setting

Very hard to find the facility. Web site states the location at corner of Earl Rudder Fwy and University. However it is impossible to see the sign or the hotel from that corner. Big sign is obscured by trees. Facility is way back in the shopping center. Suggested options to improve the ability to find your hotel include: Adjusting the web site to state in North East corner on intersection in the Shopping center near the Freeway, and/or including the Ramada name on the large Freeway signs that state other significant facilities in the center. Note: even when driving up and down the freeway looking for the Hotel the existing Ramada sign is obscured by trees and it is easy to miss it while focused upon the Freeway signs identifying other significant facilities in the area.

The property was clean, staff was polite and bed where comfortable.

after checking in to the property and getting settled in our room, we stepped out to eat and when we came we noticed that housekeeping had been in the room. They didn’t clean or dump the little trash we had in the room. They did move some our stuff around, nothing was missing. I went and asked the front desk but she just looked dumbfounded and said she didn’t know… Maybe it was because we checked in early. However, we didn’t check in early and shouldn’t the room already been cleaned? it’s was just wired……..

Repeat customers! We stay here regularly having an adult child attending A&M, and we’ve come to rely on them. Provided they’re not already full when we fail to book enough in advance, we always enjoy our stay a lot. The staff especially are always great.

Well, I believe this becoming normative with hotels across the country in the pandemic times and reducing overhead, but I’ve noticed hot water has been less so, and even seems to run out with 2 showering back-to-back. Not that it actually gets cold, but just tepid, like the thermostat is dialed back. I’ll be more critical of this once the economy turns around, but here and now, not a big deal.

We actually stayed 4 nights and extended to an extra night due to our move from Bryan. The staff was everything, we had a comfortable stay, the pool and all amenities were kept up, and they made sure we were taken care of. My car battery was dead and they did everything they could to help. I thank everyone at this property.

Very clean. Exceptionally friendly staff. Location near University Drive is good for restaurant access. Breakfast buffet has great variety and hot foods had great flavor!

Only negative is that you can hear nearby rooms air conditioning units when they come on. They have a kind of pulsating roaring sound. I overcame that by turning on my air conditioning fan and let it run constantly.

Breakfast was ok, but not as good as others I've had. Only offered wheat bread. Would have like to see Bagels, Croissants, English Muffins, etc. No fruit offerings either. How about some cream cheese, or cheese along with the eggs and sausage. Also need some Louisiana Hot Sauce or Tabasco Sauce. This is Texas, you know. We don't eat anything without hot sauce.

Breakfast. The only thing. Otherwise, it was beyond expectations.

Breakfast, including coffee, was pretty much gone when I got there, 10:15. The biggest problem was trees hid the sign; I couldn’t see it driving south on hiway 6. I turned on University per gas station attendant directions, drove back north, but could only see stores. My ride to a concert had to pick me up at Home Depot. Late. Cut the trees! My GPS doesn’t work in College Station. Thank you.

See above. Also, my drive from Dallas took an hour longer than expected. I wish I could have checked in an hour earlier; maybe I wouldn’t have cut it so close. You should still make the sign visible. Based on what I saw the next morning, it is not. Lorraine Holland - Oct 17

I liked the area it was in, it made it easier to get to nearby stores and restaurants. I also loved that even though the staff was swamped they were very polite and helpful.

The only complaint I have is the outside door left of the entrance was giving me a hard time; I had to scan my card about five times before the door would unlock.
