Sawmill Creek by Cedar Point Resorts

The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions without hesitation. Our room was adequately stocked for the 2 nights we were staying. The room smelled fresh and was very clean. We both enjoyed a walk around the area on the paved trail to the marina and Lake Erie.

There are elevators but they are located a ways away from the rooms. I'm not sure if all rooms were set up like ours but only one side of the sliding shower door was moveable. It made it difficult to get into the shower because you had to squeeze between the toilet and that sliding door to get in.

From the moment that we arrived at Sawmill, we were IN LOVE! This place was SO amazing to stay at. We were very pleased with the friendliness from the staff the moment that we arrived. The interior of Sawmill is BEAUTIFUL. The room made us feel like we were at home. The beds were comfortable with PLENTY of pillows and the bathroom was VERY nice. My daughter and her friends enjoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub. We visited the fitness room while we stayed there and it was one of the best fitness areas I have ever seen in a hotel. There is plenty of workout equipment for everyone to enjoy. I would DEFINITELY recommend Sawmill to anyone looking to stay in Sandusky!

The price of the breakfast.

Quiet, serine, and surrounded by natural beauty. Cleanliness was resort expectation; which is perfection. It was wonderful to come back to this environment after being at an amusement park all day. Samantha at the front desk was exceptional at customer service as well. When booking.com made a mistake on the details of the breakfast cost, she and management went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed a very delicious and beautiful spread each morning (on the house).

The outdoor pool pump had broken the day prior. I would have also liked if the pool side bar had been staffed. I do think that both of these problems were out of the resort's control though. Also, if you do not plan on doing the breakfast buffet or purchasing coffee, bring a travel coffee maker for your room.

I loved our room. The bed was extremely comfortable and loved the in-room fireplace. My companions and I truly enjoyed the holiday festivities offered during this week before Christmas. I hope this will be an annual occurrence.

We tried to get a breakfast sandwich at the Marketplace but they were all out on the second morning of our stay so we went with the breakfast buffet in the Harvest Room. The buffet was large but not a good value for us since its more than we normally eat. More breakfast options would be appreciated. The entire dinner at Millers Table was very tasty but they skimped on the veggies. Two very thin carrots and one piece of broccolini appeared to be more like a garnish than a portion of the meal.

Clean throughout common spaces as well as room. Pool had an a great attendant. Would definitely stay here again hands down cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in.

The only bad issue to this hotel is trying to leave and get on the main road. It needs a red light to accommodate guest leaving. In the morning rush time we waited for at least 10 mins and finally some nice person in the main road stopped and wavied us to go out ahead of them. If not lord knows when we would of been finally able to pull onto the main road.

the holiday lights were beautiful. I loved the wildlife pictures in the halls. each hall had a different animal. we stayed in Cedar with pictures of red foxes, my favorite. there was plenty of parking available and vending machines were conveniently located on each floor in each Hall. The vending machines also take cards as the property is Cashless. The bartenders and staff at the restaurant we fun, friendly and engaged with us. we were there Tuesday-Thursday and felt like we had the whole resort to ourselves. The Truffle Parmesean chips were amazing and I really loved the fish sliders.

True resort feel. Beautiful outdoor pool, hot tub, and cabanas. There were multiple outdoor areas to hang out - fire pits, courtyards, etc. I could see this place being enjoyable in the winter, too, with its indoor pool/hot tub, and multiple fireplaces in the indoor congregation spots. It has the lodge feel. The Miller’s Table restaurant was fantastic.

Just make it dog friendly! We have a tiny Pomeranian. I’d come here multiple times a year if we could bring her.

The room was spacious. Recently remodeled so everything felt clean and new. Loved the in room fireplace as well as the outdoor firepit. The bed was VERY comfortable. I wish I knew what kind of mattress it was but couldn’t find out.

Breakfast was served buffet style for $20. I would have preferred to order a smaller meal off the menu. A buffet seems like a waste especially during an off season weekday which is when we stayed. There was no free coffee available in the room or the lobby. I don't drink coffee so didn't affect me much but others in my group were disappointed

It was nice having a choice of restaurants at resort as well as many close by. Very clean and everyone was hospitable. My favorite would be Caleb (poolside bartender) and Cloe. Very down to earth and fun to chat with. Will definitely be back!

I didn't like that I was supposed to be upgraded and was not! Our fireplace didn't work (in our room) which wasn't a huge deal but still disappointing. Other than that everything was great!

Service was phenomenal and the staff were so accommodating. The place truly felt like resort; it was peaceful and calm and the scenery was beautiful too. The room itself was very large and ours had a fireplace. There was a beautiful view of the green lawn from the window. The breakfast buffet was also really good and had a great variety of choices; something for everyone.

The beds and pillows were too soft for my liking.
