La Quinta by Wyndham Raleigh Cary

The front desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating. I was able to check in early. The room was very clean and cool when I entered. The bathroom was spotless. The overall room was laid out nicely, especially if you were to need a workspace.

Walking down the hall to my room there was a very strong off putting odor. There were signs throughout the hotel that looked as though they needed some repair. Wall paper peeling back and some water damaged areas in the bathroom. The room was a bit dated with some of the built ins. The mattress was not the most comfortable and the sheets felt very thin and cheap.

They didn't clean our bedroom between days. We stayed for 2 nights. The crib was not ready when we arrived at night, so we had to ask for it at the front desk, the person there didn't know it was requested while the booking was made and she thought they even didn't have any. I made her check, she called someone and was told that there were cribs. She found one. I had to.carry it myself to the bedroom and it didn't have sheets.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable and it had a small refrigerator and microwave. It was located near several shopping areas, one with a supermarket, several food places and a Walmart within walking distance. I was there for 2 nights and was informed that my room would not be cleaned during my stay, but with Covid still around, I was happy with people not entering my room after I did my additional disinfecting. And I had adequate towels for the 2 day stay. Plus, unlike another Wyndham property that I stayed in earlier this month, the little coffee machine was operable. Finally, no mildew around bathtub and sink which has been a pet peeve of mine even in some so-called luxury hotel in which I've stayed in the past.

The bathroom toiletries were skimpy, I got only 2 small bars of soap and a bottle of shampoo. I wanted that small bottle of lotion. The complimentary breakfast was limited, no scrambled eggs and sausage or bacon like at some other Wyndham properties. Only cold boiled eggs., mostly unhealthy carbohydrates. But the coffee was good.

There is a half inch wide 3 inch high metal thing around the dog poop bag area to hold the pine needles in place. The pine needles wer covering it so I didn't see it . I stepped on it fell and rolled my ankle. Luckily it wasn't too bad. I told the desk person and they were very helpful and let me check out very late so I could ice my swelling ankle. He said he was going to tell someone so something could be done. It is quite dangerous and I am very lucky my injury wasn't worse or we would be having a very different conversation. I really hope this dangerous issue has been taken care of

Breakfast just OK but adequate. Wish there was a plug from my phone right beside the bed. I had to plug it into a wall outlet near the floor to charge room is the interesting design.

There was no apparent side walk out toward the restaurant that was nearby so I drove over but that restaurant is excellent so that is a good recommendation that she gave me at the desk

Excellent value & a great location (very near a convenient and clean strip mall) and actively dog friendly. It has a relaxing pool area, and a basic (but mostly empty) exercise room & washer/dryer area.

It turns out that La Quinta, NC, has a very specific & strict payment policy. In particular, payment in advance & payment by non-bank debit cards aren't supported. This lead to some problems checking in, but the staff any management were ultimately able to sort that out (fortunately for us!) Resolving this caused an extra delay on Friday evening, where there are many check-ins. Usually, the staff have few guests to deal with, but it seems queues can form on the Friday night.

We stayed for 5 days. It was a nice comfortable room. Location of hotel was good. Breakfast was good.

We stayed for 5 days. But housekeeping was not done. It had to be specially requested to be done and it was done only 1 day after a lot of persuasion. Towels and change of bedding had to be requested each time going to the reception. Calls to reception was not answered most times. So this hotel is definitely shortstaffed. Checkin/checkout process took a very long time because of staff shortage.

Room was clean and comfortable, property was close to where we needed to be. Check in and out was easy.

Some of the facilities weren’t in the best condition. The main elevator close to the front office was out of order for our entire stay, and the “continental breakfast” did not have any hot options. Only cereal, fruit, yogurt, and bagels. A minor inconvenience was that the bathroom didn’t have an exhaust fan to vent the steam from the shower like most do.

1. Most of the key-access doors were broken/didn't work 2. Despite pet-friendly and availability of poop-bags there was not a single outside trash can and I had to use the dumpster to discard. The additional effect was that there was refuse around the property as the doors since no trash cans.

Good location. Attractive property! King suite had a nice layout with a bedroom separate from the well- furnished living room, including a large desk area, couch, chair and coffee table; there were 2 closets, fridge and micro.

Bed was uncomfortable, hard; only 3 pillows on king bed, and 2 were feather pillows which I requested No Feather Pillows due to allergy - housekeeping had difficulty but helped me find 2 replacements. The Grab n Go breakfast snack is a bottle of water, granola bar and muffin... sub-par! Coffee and juice were available 7-9... different hours than posted at check-in. This was our 7th hotel on a road trip and all the others had full breakfast options. La Quinta is behind the curve.
