Terrace Bay Hotel

The remodels are Beautiful. Even the hallways are Beautiful. LOVED that I didn't have to ask for an extra pillow because there were plenty. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The price was just a hair over what I felt it was worth. But the reason I didn't give it a perfect score, was because of the CONSTANT emails and texts from the Hotel. I only need to be told welcome and thanks for coming. We were only there for 16 hours...and I got 8 emails and 2 texts telling me about the restraint, things to do in the area etc. All that stuff is GREAT....but do it in 1 or 2 emails NOT 8. We were enjoying a nice dinner out and my phone dinged TWICE just during dinner alone. "We hope you're enjoying your stay" ...I WOULD be if you'd stop interrupting my vacation with these nonsense notifications.

We chose to host our wedding celebration here, and we could not be happier! Wonderful rooms, restaurant, facilities, hosting of events such as weddings in their ballroom and patio areas, and they have the best swimming pool and hot tub facilities! Our favorite place to stay in the area, and we will be back again and again!

Everything was perfect! We have no complaints. This is always a wonderful place to stay and they did not disappoint, as usual.

Well of course the view. For anybody who are able, get the Lake View Room, you won't regret it. The property handled the new construction well and when it's done, there will be lots of Lake View Rooms. The only issue, and it wasn't too bad, was that the Wifi was quite sketchy! Oh well, forget the computer and enjoy the view. The restaurant was excellent. Our server, Jamie was delightful and the food was over the top!

This was a last minute booking/stay, going home from a work trip in Detroit. I called the office and asked to find the best hotel in the direction I was headed. When I arrived, it was nice to see the hotel on the shoreline, with a great view. After checking in, I stopped in the dinning room for a meal. The food was great all around, ordered more than I needed, but I wanted to a few options. I'm not sure if the area is set up for it, but I would return for mountain biking in the summer or cross country skiing/ice fishing. Wouldn't hesitate to return for an adventure.

Somethings outdated, bed & bedsheets, it was nice to have two tv's in each room, but a little small. But the room itself was some what remodeled.

Great location. Fantastic restaurants close by. Room was beautiful. Great size! Very comfortable. Staff was amazing and very helpful. Rooms are beautifully renovated, with nice lighting options. The sunrise was amazing!

They need a little more attention to detail in renovations for that price. Caulk is sloppy and tiles in bathroom were bubbling (had been painted) I don’t mind they were painted but they need to fix their work. Chairs on patio are nice but a table is needed out there

The new owners have done an excellent job updating the premises. Great attention to detail on design in the room. very comfortable bed. Enjoyed the pool & hot tub area and a short walk on the bay front. Watched eagles and osprey catch fish and a stunning lightening storm from our balcony. Also arrived after 8pm and had a very tasty meal and cocktails in the adjoining restaurant. Picked up a mocha from Biggby Coffee in the morning. A perfect stay! We would definitely return and tell our friends.

The staff was very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The view of the bay was beautiful.

They've worked hard on some updates on the inside, but you can tell the building is old. It's a bit run down on the outside. The pool also could have been a little cleaner. It's not as great as the pictures make it look.

The staff and location were excellent. The restaurant fantastic! History of the hotel and view wonderful. Would go back to stay at a renovated room with a lake view for sure. Really enjoyed having the bikes to ride up the lakeshore and into town, visited a lovely park and beach! I also loved the area in the back down the stairs, a boardwalk area, great for birdwatching!

Having such an amazing view at this hotel, it would be nice to have a place for guests to sit and enjoy it. The terrace with the fountain is used for events so not really a place for guests to hang out. Having no meal option till 430pm inconvenient. Wish the kayak option had been ready.

Great location! Such a beautiful view of the bay! The rooms are nicely redone and SO spacious!! We took advantage of the bike and kayaks while we were here. If we are in the UP again we will definitely look forward to another stay here.

Location..water view..comfortable beds...restaurant was at the hotel and it was great..

Expensive, $275 for deluxe 2 with beds...needs maintenance, balconies are deteriorating...pool was cloudy...hot tub had too much chemicals in it..lamps in room had switch on cord ( tacky)..no transition strip in door way between adjacent room, cut my toe...no breakfast...noises from adjacent rooms and hallway
