Exceptional staff. They were very friendly, courteous and willing to help with any problem navigating the area no matter how large or small. The entire home was emaculate and cleaned daily. Food was deliciou with many choices. Breakfast was available at your request and your schedule. Snacks were available at all times. This B&B has quite a history and so well documented for your review. The area is safe and quiet with any number of excellent restaurants within walking distance.

You have a private bathroom but some are off the hall not right off your room. There are steps to climb. Both of these limitations are due to the age of the home.

We were warmly welcomed by Paul on our arrival, given a tour of the beautiful house with lots of information on its fascinating history and very good recommendations for places to eat and visit. The breakfast was excellent, served by Liz in the dining room. We knew nothing about Fairhaven itself when we booked (we'd been drawn by the FDR connection), but, as well as being attractive, it turned out to be a really interesting place with several past residents who'd played a significant role in the history of the US. We'd highly recommend a visit to the local museum to find out about it. Also don't miss the Whaling Museum in New Bedford.

The Delano was wonderful. Liz was fantastic and made a delicious breakfast spread. The location was perfect, great neighborhood walking distance to a lot of spots to eat and a wonderful coffee shop around the corner. The bed was incredibly comfy and the room was lovely and huge. The homestead itself is charming and you can feel the history. And we met some lovely folks at breakfast also staying there. We loved our stay.

Only couple comments that don't change my review but, there was no key to our door which was weird. Did we miss it? I don't think so. I guess it's just a really safe neighborhood but that made us a bit uneasy. Also the bathroom was not en suite, we were the only ones using it so didn't bother us but not everyone is cool with that so fyi. Not sure if the other rooms have en suite.

It was really interesting learning about the Delano connection to Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the historical records and photos were a bonus. Staying in a historic mansion is really special. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and our new hostess was very helpful. It was not too far from the ferry terminal to Martha's Vineyard by uber. Walking around the little town of Fairhaven was very memorable.

Bus transport from Newport to Fairhaven was limited even though it is only 45 minutes by car.

Breakfast was delicious and customized to our request (eggs with meat), special added items with coffee and juices; fresh fruit, kitchen made granola and more. Excellent! The king size bed was great. Luxury robes provided. Large suite with the private bath next to the room made the best accommodations for our 5-day stay. Travel to the sites from this location was what we are looking for and found it to be perfect. The guests who we shared breakfast with each morning added to a special touch found only at a true Bed & Breakfast. We met people from Belgium, South Carolina, Maine, and even neighboring New Bedford. The locals had wonderful recommendations of what to see and do (and we did!)

There was nothing that we would change. There is so much attention to detail given to the house itself. Then, the breakfast made by Liz was a culinary delight. Paul answered many questions of what to see and do for our 5-day stay. We enjoyed the breakfast guests that we met each morning, from as far away as Belgium to as close as New Bedford.

We had two perfect days / nights at Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast. Our hosts Paul and Sharyn fulfilled our every wish. The house and our room were tastefully decorated and very comfortable. We had delicious breakfast and even had very special guests in the garden one morning: turkeys! We would travel to Fairhaven again at any time and can recommend the Delano Homestead Bed and Breakfast! Thank you Sharyn and Paul for this great time with you. See you soon (hopefully)

Awesome house with a lot of history to it. Beautifully kept and decorated. Bed was great and we had a huge bathroom for ourselfs. Thanks to Paul for the warm welcome and the awesome tips & suggestions. We also really liked the detailled info that was in the room about excursions, food, history, .. Extra credits for Liz, who made a killer breakfast everyday. Wish I had a Liz at home! So good, we usually didn’t eat again until the evening because we were so full.

The place is a great combination of historical building and relatively modern facility. We stayed on the third floor, and the bathroom has fully renovated with clean facility. It also has big windows and the view of the yard was fantastic. The innkeeper, Liz was very nice and prepared great breakfast during our stay. The neighborhood is very quiet, and it was fun to stroll around the house to see other historical buildings (library, town hall, etc.).

There was no fridge in the room we stayed; however, they let us keep our food and drink in a fridge in the kitchen.

Delano is in a lovely quiet neighborhood. Full of history and beauty. The accommodations were more than wonderful, and the staff is great! Lizzy made us feel at home and was a terrific cook! She made several suggestions for places to dine, and local places she thought we would enjoy and she was absolutely right! Loved our cozy room and comfortable bed! Looking forward to visiting again!. 1000 times better than any hotel in the area. ❤️❤️❤️

The property is well located in Fairhaven close to the ferry to Marth's Vineyard. It was located in a quaint neighborhood that was was safe and well kept. Liz the manager was very hospitable and full of historic notes and recommendations! Liz's recommendation for the Black Whale Restaurant was outstanding. The house and property was a travel back in history to a time opulence and splendor!

The only drawback is that we couldn't stay longer!
