Holiday Inn Express & Suites - Tampa East - Ybor City, an IHG Hotel

The staff we encountered were wonderful: kind, helpful, and very friendly. The breakfasts were great - lots of options and good coffee. The room was quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. The shower and bathroom were clean and well appointed. It was great to have a refrigerator and microwave in the room, too.

There was a security guard on staff over night. One night we arrived home form dinner to discover the entry doors locked. A staff member opened them for us, and informed us of an altercation that had occurred in front of the hotel (not between guests.) The area surrounding the hotel was a parking area for trucks. We did not feel comfortable walking around the grounds of the hotel.

Nice hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. There is an available shuttle that will take you anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel. The clerk at the front desk gave us a list of restaurants that were within the 5 mile range. The shuttle driver gave us a few recommendations and the restaurant that we chose was fantastic. We called the hotel when we were done dinner and the shuttle came back to pick us up. This shuttle also brings you to the cruise port but book early as it fills up quickly. We would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Was in town for Frozen Four hockey. Great for getting around Tampa. We managed to avoid the often congested Route 4 by using Broadway and Adamo roads to city of Tampa which are about 10 minute drive. Those roads don’t have tolls. If you need snacks, gas, or drinks, Wawa store is an easy walk next to parking lot. Staff is outstanding, always there for assistance with questions or issues. It’s easy to get out of Tampa from hotel to go to Orlando for its parks or airport which is a little over 1 hour away.

Swimming pool is kind of small but still nice to use on a hot day.

We pulled up and I was very worried about my choice of hotels as it was under a highway and noisy semi trucks were everywhere. I was blown away how much I enjoyed this place. It was safe, quiet and clean. Comfortable bed and top of the line tp. The staff was kind, amazing and helpful. Plenty to choose from for breakfast. Great location. Close to Ybor City with a free parking lot. Easy to get to downtown Tampa via free Trolley ride from Ybor City.

This hotel is very clean. I stayed only 1 day but I found the place very pleasant. Good clean and smell throught all places, including the carpeted but perfumed rooms. Complete breakfast with fruits, milk, coffee, eggs, toasts, pancakes, desserts, sausages and juice- really good!! Friendly staff. I recommended this place. If I need to stay in Tampa again, certainly I would book in this hotel!!

Breakfast was good. Location was excellent for where we needed to go. Access to freeway and gas was perfect. Will stay here again the next time we are in Tampa.

One of the buttons in one of the elevators had a makeshift "press here" instruction taped to the button. Instruction was also given by the front desk staff. Might be easier to just fix it (and it would look less tacky)

The hotel itself is pretty close to any fast food restaurants you want and about a 10 minutes drive from Busch Gardens. As soon as you walk in you can tell it is a very clean hotel and it was brightly lit. The check in staff was very friendly, when I checked in it was a man named Victor whom was friendly and informative. I really liked that the buffet for breakfast had gloves that were required for guest to wear when getting food, so everyone can be safe. The elevators are very up to date and came immediately upon pressing the button. The hotel room itself was also clean with 4 pillows for each bed. The beds themselves were firm but very comfortable. I enjoyed the shower as well, it had excellent water pressure and the water heats up quick. I was happy to find that the bathroom is equipped with shampoo, conditioner and body soap so I didn’t have to go out and buy any. There’s also a good variety of channels on their tv if you end up watching anything in your room. Just in case you like sleeping in, the rooms also have excellent blinds that you can pull down that block out any sunlight which was a major bonus.

I honestly don’t have any complaints but one thing that could be seen as a negative might be the pool size as it is a bit small. But I didn’t stay there for the pool so I didn’t mind.

Breakfast was excellent. The room was spacious and clean. We loved the bench with hooks. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower. The room was next to a highway and therefore noisy.

The cleanliness

That they almost messed up my reservation. I got a call while I was boarding my flight saying that I didn’t call to confirm my stay and now they are booked for the night. I damn near had to beg on a plane full of people because I was afraid I wouldn’t have a place to stay when I arrived that night. However, I didn’t know if she said all that to cause me to panic but apparently there was a mix up and it was rectified when we arrived, but other than that I’ll stay again.

The staff was amazing. I was in town at another hotel and it was terrible. I made my reservation here and showed up at the hotel about 10 am. I knewbi wasn't going to be able to check-in but they held my bags for me while I went out and told me to check back around 1 and would see what they could do. When I got back at 1 they were more then happy to let me check on. I was able to go and relax get a nice shower and not be afraid someone was going to break in my room. I want to think the whole staff at this hotel

Only thing I didn't like was that there was no shuttle service at this time but that was the only thing and not that big a deal I was able to get a lyft easy
