View Crest Lodge

While the road was a bit rough heading to View Crest Lodge, the experience was not. Check-in was quick and easy, the room was nearby and parking was clear. You can see the ocean, but certainly can hear the Sea Lions. The room was quaint, warm and clean. Stocked with K-Cups, as opposed to the normal coffee/maker, I found the service amiable and at the right price. I would definitely stay here again, particularly if I was driving up the coast to Oregon/Washington.

I had the smallest of the available rooms and let me tell you, it was definitely small. It only lost 1 point because of the size, but given the service, amenities and location, the room size was a marginal issue at best.

This little gem is even nicer in-person! If you’re driving up toward Redwood NP, stop here rather than some chain’s average outpost. We arrived during a storm and the staff couldn’t have been nicer. Rooms are clean, updated, comfortable. We booked the cottage with hot tub and it was worth the extra few dollars. Breakfast is a notch above chain hotel grab-n-go, but don’t book if you’re expecting hot buffet and luxury-chain amenities. It’s a Lodge with a View on a Crest, and it’s wonderful.

The living room area was a little tight for four (we were here in the rainy season), but hey-it’s a cottage not a Vacation Home, so it didn’t really bother us.

Room was large (actually 2 rooms-sitting area with sofa, fridge, coffee maker and microwave as well as a bedroom) Both were comfortable and clean.

It looks on the info like all the cabins are up on the grass covered hill with a view, and we were given one of 2 that are at street level. We were disappointed with this, and wish the marketing info had explained this was a possibility. Then I would have known to request a cabin up higher on the hill.

We had a great 2 night stay here, the hostess was friendly and gave us lots of information on places to visit, eat and recommended hiking trails. We liked the simple selection of breakfast options to choose from, the breakfast was delivered the night before with a delightful knock on the door. This was great for us because we had early starts to the day and didn't have to wait. Laundry facilities were great and included washing detergent. The ocean view from the balcony was great. I liked the selection of hard and soft pillows to choose from on the bed.

Rooms are very nice, the kitchens have most things you'd need, no baking sheets but lots of pots and pans. We had a great stay and the staff was excellent with anything we asked.

Parking was a little challenging as the neighbors parked all wonky. We didn't have any soap or toilet paper but as soon as I asked the office they brought it right over. Very minor things and this was an excellent property and great place to stay!

Separate cabins. Individual hot tub. Large comfortable bed and wonderfully clean bedroom.

The fabric love seat and chair were dirty and we could not use them to sit on. Additionally, the oven appeared as if it had not been cleaned for quite a long time. Further, there were non-stick cooking pans that had reached their useful life. However, we placed extra bath towels over the loveseat and chair and then placed our open luggage on them so they served a purpose.

There was a paper check list on non-perishable breakfast items and a wide array of drink choices. Some items were limited to 2 per person. This was more than enough. They delivered the items the evening before. The cabin we stayed in was a duplex, our unit was right off the road, as most cabins were, slightly, up on the hill from us. The rooms were spacious enough with 2 TVs on a wall. One on one side, the other on the other side. Didn't have a whole lot of time for TV, but did enjoy having them available. It was a great choice for our adventures we wished to do. We also used their Bbq grill, twice. There was a little kitchenette with a microwave and mini fridge with a faucet/sink. The bed was very comfortable. We had a wonderful time.

To say something could of been better would only be negative. We had no negative s this whole trip.

The property is maintained, peaceful, and beautiful. The price was reasonable and a good value. The staff are helpful and courteous. We were given simple cold breakfast options and they delivered it the night before. The location was quiet and a perfect base for all the things we did. We may come back some time.

Pictures of the rooms only show the larger kitchenettes so ours was minimmalistic. It would be helpful to know more before....but I didn't call either and that's on me.

Our cottage was beautiful and set in a gorgeous location just off the cliffside. Beds are incredibly soft, fully functioning kitchen that even included dishware and cooking utensils. Wonderful hot tub is in a private separate room just outside the front door, and the one downside we found was that we couldnt figure out how to change the temperature on the hot tub. Breakfast was delivered the night before, based on a card we filled out with our choices when we arrived. Good selection, and it was nice not to have to mingle during Covid for breakfast! Fantastic stay, we are most definitely planning on coming again soon.

Our cabin was so cute and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook a meal and we could see a little bit of the ocean from the front deck. The setting was gorgeous with green grass, tall trees and manicured landscaping. Location was perfect between Trinidad and Patricks Pt state park. We will definitely be back to stay again!
