Cottage Inn by the Sea

Rom condition was very good.

The person who checked us in - Greg - was rude and unprofessional. He asked for a credit card for incidentals and I told him to use the card I submitted when I made the reservation. He said it was declined. I asked what was the last 4 numbers. He told me and I said that that card was not mine. He did not even apologize. Also, he speaks so fast you have a hard time understanding what he is saying. Coffee used to be complimentary. now they charge you. Pretty bad considering they don't give you a single thing for breakfast. This will be my last stay here..

Property is beautifully situated on a bluff at ocean's edge. Nice walking trail along the bluff and access to the beach. Nice large room with a fireplace.

Breakfast has been suspended. It would have been very nice to have something available.

We loved the larger than normal room we were given esp with our 3 young kids. The room was nicely decorated with an updated bathroom, nice furniture, desk, table & two chairs, and we loved the fireplace!! The ceiling fan was a nice feature for warmer nights. We loved the garden area on the cliff above the ocean with beautiful landscaping & firepits (we roasted s’mores), pool/spa with view of ocean, walkway between connecting properties above ocean with amazing views. The lobby was also upgraded and gorgeous cafe with Starbucks coffee/lattes and other breakfast items and snacks available for sale.

The view from our room was amazing. Our room was on the ground floor and walked right onto the ocean cliff. It was so pretty!

We had to change rooms because our shower didn't work. The water trickled out. They moved us to the room next door and explained all the rooms were being updated. Also, if you have a room on the bottom floor, next the path alongside the ocean, be aware that people can walk right up to your back door and try to come in! It happened the first night there and it scared us! All the rooms look the same so I think it was other patrons trying to get into their room. Keep your door locked lol

View and the grounds were amazing and it was very well kept. The people at the front desk were friendly, everything was very well maintained and the added seating and view was just a slice of heaven.

I do wish that you didn't have to request housekeeping. They do make it very easy to request it, but it feels like you are asking for additional services instead of it being included with the stay. I know that most hotels are making this change but I preferred when getting the service was the norm and you could let them know if you didn't want the service.

Loved how away from the crowds it was. The views and amenities were fantastic. The size of the room and parking availability was really great

The room could have been a little cleaner. The floors looked and felt like they had been mopped/quick mopped in a few stays. Handles or things were dirty especially in bathroom area. Along with outdoor patio chairs dont seem to get wipe down at all. And the sink counter so close to the shower/tub was so tight to turn shower water on. (Not an easy task for a pregnant woman with a big belly)

I enjoyed the view, the fireplace, and the fact I was on the second level so I could sleep with the windows open. I forgot my swimsuit at home, so I could enjoy the hot tub or pool. I appreciated the desk clerk getting an open room for me since mine wasn't ready at 4:15, and I was quite exhausted.

I used to clean for a BNB, and we'd take one day a month for deep cleaning. I think this is a practice they could employ to remove built up dust, address mold, and go over things that may be skipped on the day-to-day cleanings when time is an issue.

The rooms facing the water! Fireplace adds a nice touch. Being right above the shoreline with amazing views. The only room I will suggest for future stays is facing the water….upstairs! Fire pits for residents were wonderful!

Needs some upgrade, carpet, windows were difficult to open. Pool is too small for the size of complex, so alittle disappointing but can’t change that. The kids took over pool & Jacuzzi! Lightening in the bathroom was terrible.

Spot on what we wanted - cozy with a view. The room was a good size and the window view to the ocean was lovely. Mitch checked us in and he was very friendly and helpful. the fire pits, pool and hot tub and stair access to the beach make it all worth it!

The setting on the cliffs above Pismo beach is magical, the view is stunning. Just by the view they have pool, a garden with comfy seating and stairs directly to the beach. The rooms are huge, ours came with a working fireplace (gas driven) and very comfortable bed. Nice getaway equally for couples, families or people who just want to relax.

No breakfast was a disappointment especially since I thought it was included. The rooms close to the street tend to be noisy from the highway, while the rooms further in are more silent. Limited dinner choices in the same block, but an abundance if one is willing to go to central Pismo.
