Friendly staff. Quiet neighborhood which I liked. No street noise. I read reviews where people complained about the transient people but it was never a problem. They don’t bother you. We were out at 9:00 pm walking. If you’re scared don’t go out or get a cab. Shower is large. They supply shampoo/conditioner/soap/lotion so no need to bring anything. They have a pool but we did not use. Looks nice. There’s a courtyard that’s quite nice to sit in. You can ask for a room that has the courtyard view. The restaurant is closed for renos I think. Once that re-opens it will be good. No need to leave the hotel for meals, as there’s not too much around. Grocery store Von’s within walking distance to get food and drinks for breakfast

The only minus for us is the room didn’t have anywhere to hang our bath towels or face/hand towels. We just left them on the counter or shelves in the bathroom. I’m not sure if that’s just our room or if it’s the case for all.

The hotel is easy to get to from the train line with two stations a short walk away. There are a number of good restaurants within a short walk of the hotel and it was easy to get to places downtown via train. The facility is in good condition and has a number of amenities such as a laundry- which we did use. There is a mini-mart, and spa as well. The bed was very comfortable and the room- located off the interior courtyard - was quiet. The room was quite large, but they are not all the same size.

There isn't a closet and the metal rack provided was a bit awkward. There was a beetle in the bathroom one morning- not a cockroach. The neighborhood, while relatively safe, does have more than its share of homeless and panhandlers in the vicinity which makes walking anywhere near the train stations a bit uncomfortable for newcomers, but not necessarily unsafe. Generally used Uber at night.

What’s not to love? The rooms are super clean, the ones I’ve stayed in (3 times now) were all overlooking the courtyard. The courtyard is completely magical, whether you are looking down at it from your own balcony, or sitting with a book. it has ALWAYS been super quiet- one or two people now and then sitting quietly… the sound of the water is lovely, even on the third floor!!! The gym has ellipticals, weights, bikes… download a guide to the local television stations, though, but that is the only thing I might improve. staff at the front desk is friendly, helpful and patient:-) I wouldn’t stay anywhere else.

The location near the Greek Theater makes this property ideal for a concert goer. That, and the Pie Shop half way back for a piece of pie after the concert was great. The property is clean and looks to be freshly remodel. Our room was freshly painted. Bed and bed linens were comfortable and plush. The bathroom was freshly remodeled and nice. Staff was very nice. Off street parking is available so you don't have to necessarily pay the $30 parking fee.

The refrigerator in our room did not work. The web site shows food and breakfast is available. It's not. The electric plug on the nightstand light is a nice touch, but it's not powered on when the central light switch is off, so it cannot be used to charge your phone over night.

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The rooms were kept clean and the facilities on offer were reasonable for the price. We were given a large room with a view of the pool. If you have a car, it is in a reasonable location to get to other parts of the city.

The room was large but had a pillar in the middle. This wasn't a problem for us but might not be for everyone, there was also the offer of another room that looked over the road that I assume wouldn't have had the same issue. Whilst it was a fine local area with a few restaurants and shops nearby it isn't really close to major sites so it might be difficult to get around without a car.

Has a great location in East Hollywood. If you’re visiting LA for vacation, the Hollywood Hotel is walking distance from a Metro stop.

Hotel & rooms are well maintained and furnished. Ground floor rooms are based around a nice courtyard that was accessible from the hotel lobby area. Helpful staff made the experience feel comfortable and were readily accessible for queries. My room had a walk-in shower, preferable to a shower over a bath, which was a great benefit to me. Though in not the nicest neighbourhood, the hotel and car park felt safe and secure. Also public transport and shops were easily accessible locally (max 400yards).

Elegant entrance from the car park was being renovated, something that should probably have been completed during the slow seasons.

The bed was super comfy. The entire hotel was very clean. The gym was small but well equipped. We enjoyed the large pool and appreciated the many comfortable lounge chairs. I loved taking my morning coffee out to the 3rd floor terrace or to the central courtyard. It was a garden oasis with piped in piano music and comfy patio furniture.

The ONLY thing I would request the hotel change is to either install blackout curtains or dim the lights in the courtyard. They stay on 24/7, making our room quite bright. As a light sleeper I should have known to bring an eye mask. Otherwise we were very happy with Hollywood Hotel and will definitely return.
