We chose this resort as we were attending the street fair. One of our group members has limitations so we wanted to be close and central to the fair and city center. This resort allowed all of us easy access to nearby restaurants and the fair and BONUS The Beach!!! The price was reasonable for the resort, the proximity and the amenities available and included at the resort. We’ve stayed here before and look forward to returning.

It would be nice if the hotel/resort had a bar. There is a bar and restaurant a two minute walk away, but it would be nice to have access on site even if just beer and wine. The only situation we encountered was that our sink drain was VERY slow. It did drain, but quite slow. We did not mention it until check out and they appreciated us letting them know.

I really liked the location, so close to the beach and activities. The staff were all very kind and accommodating. The facility was clean and charming.

Suggestion: There should be a push light under the shelf that holds the safe, as that closet space is very dark. The push light would allow one to see better when making coffee or tea. Price - is much higher per night than I can really afford. It was a special occasion, so I went forward with reservations. As a retiree, however, it was a bit pricey.

LOVE the location. I grew up in Carlsbad on Ocean Street, so it’s fun to be back in the old neighborhood. We’ve been to Carlsbad Inn several times before and always enjoy coming back.

Overall, the staff was great, but one thing that was not appreciated on this visit was to overhear loudmouthed complaints at the front desk. My daughter and I were in the front room toward the pool, a distance from the front desk, yet I could clearly hear the employee’s voice spouting off his grievances. I think it was a young male employee expressing his discontent with his job. As I recall, he was loudly grumbling to a lady supervisor, a lady I recognized from the timeshare events.

This is a beautiful facility with a great location and walking access to the many things available in downtown Carlsbad

This was our second visit to this hotel and this time, the housekeeping support was nonexistent. After two nights, we needed more towels and housekeeping hadn't even come in to straighten the room. I called down for more towels and someone brought more towels but did not remove the used towels. The next day when I saw a housekeeping cart in the hallway, I took them out myself. For the next two days our trash was not emptied and there was no evidence that housekeeping entered our room. We made sure every day that when we went out we removed the "Do not Disturb" sign.

the convenience of location, right in the heart of Carlsbad. you literally never have to get in your car once you check it! open and spacious property. right on the beach. they supply everything you need for the beach!

the communication between cleaning crew, staff and manager. when we checked in we were given a room # and keys. we walked in on a family! went back to the desk. got it figured out. settled in our room and then about 2 hours later a family came walking in our suite. then a cleaning lady, and another cleaning lady couple minutes later. my dad went to the desk to speak to a manager. he was not available so he left a message with the gentleman at the counter to have the manager call him, and we still haven’t heard from the manager and we’ve been long gone..that was 2 months ago.

I traveled to Carlsbad with my 3 year old son. This hotel was the perfect location! Such an easy walk to the beach and to restaurants, coffee, ice cream shops. Parking was easy and free. Housekeeping came every day - a perk I haven't seen at a hotel in 2 years! Our room wasn't stylish, but it was clean and comfy and spacious enough with a nice patio. I was blown away by the gorgeous common grounds at the hotel - a turf area with loungers, firepits, a pool, tables, views of the ocean, music and free wine/snacks on some afternoons. Such a great place to spend time! It really struck the perfect balance of being a convenient, perfect location for kids but feeling like a spot where adults (with or without kids) will also love to hang out.

I wish they had a bar or servers so you could order a drink while enjoying the common grounds!

Everything was walkable. We never used our car. The amenities weren’t over-crowded. Staff and other guests were friendly and respectful of each other.

Both my spouse and I needed to work part of a weekday and the off-season construction was somewhat disruptive. Staff made every effort to mitigate this issue, which was greatly appreciated!

Great location!! A quick walk to the beach. Lots of dining within walking distance. The outdoor pool was heated just enough to make the water enjoyable. The activity center has everything you need. Loved the extra touches like a bag of microwave popcorn in the room. It was a great spot for families and I would definitely come back.

There was a lot of construction going on. Also it would have been nicer if there was not carpet in the room where the dining table was. As someone with little kids I felt bad because when they eat crumbs go everywhere and I couldn’t really sweep it up because of the carpet.

Location was amazing! Loved having use of bikes, chairs, etc.

We are both athletic and agile people but felt the shower tub combo in our room was very dangerous! Not sure how the majority of people get in and out of that safely! Also we didn't really understand the housekeeping schedule...

The location was great! It was wonderful that the hotel provided the beach items. The beach was so convenient and close too. The firepits were very nice in the evening.

We were woken up every morning by the neighbors next to us. The walls were so thin we could hear their entire conversation. It was all older women and we heard every detail. It was very annoying and frustrating. It was the wall with the shared door. We didn't have this problem with the other neighbors.
