Hotel on the Cay

This hotel is in the ideal location. You simply walk down from your room and you are on the beach. The beach bar is great too. I read many reviews stating that the hotel is in need of repairs and renovations... all of which is definitely true, but the location makes this your best hotel choice in Christiansted. Other hotels will have you taking a water ferry to the beach instead of simply walking to it from your room.

Make no mistake, if you like fine luxury hotels, this is not it. It is clean and adequate, which is the best I can say about it. However, the staff is friendly, the bar is fun, and the BBQ during the daytime is awesome. You just have to understand that you are trading off having the best location in the city for an old, rundown hotel. But clean. That is not a worry. Also, when we made our plans, our biggest concern was having to rely on a boat ferry to take us from the hotel to the city and back. It was no problem at all. The entire boat ride is maybe 3 minutes and they run all day until midnight. So don't let that concern you.

Cruzan staff excellent throughout the place. All very pleasant. Launch drivers great as well. Great location on the beach, and close to downtown and shopping/restaurants. Nice band playing on Mother's Day, free, great family type music. Free laundry facilities for guests after 4 pm.

Cathy the manager, poor customer service skills. No pool.....but then it hasn't worked for over 7 yrs I think, so not really surprised. Booked at one rate thru booking.com, but they tried to charge us a higher rate on arrival. Because we had documentation, it was fixed, but was a considerable difference, and if we weren't wise to it, would have cost us a lot more.

The view was exceptional, the staff was always polite, everyone was warm and welcoming.

One person driving the boat was very rude, and made snarky comments. Seemed like he was annoyed that we had to take the boat back and forth. There is also boats that dock right next to the hotel that are super loud all night, not really a problem just a little annoying sometimes.

I liked the fact that it was on the beach - literally! The staff was extremely friendly, accommodating, welcoming, helpful, supportive and engaging.

The building is old and should be modified to accommodate modern times. Since there is no elevator a ramp should be built on half of the stairs so guests wouldn’t have to lug their suitcases up flights of stairs. There could be outlets put near the bedside table.

Everything is was great, Hector Almestica and the rest of the staff was great!

The female bartender working on 3/19/2021 was extremely rude, we waited 45 minutes for one drink, when we went back she was talking to this guys and completely ignored us after we called to her...the person she was talking too was not ordering anything...she was just shooting the breeze...she got nasty with us. Very bad customer service 😑😒

This is a very laid back place. It is out dated and needs painting and the pool is not working but over all all of the guests and staff were very friendly. Great Vaca.

The fact that they advertise a pool and it is not operational and doesn't look like it has been for some time. I think I should be compensated in some way for that.

The staff were awesome. They listened and addressed all concerns. Being steps away from the beach is one of the best parts of this hotel and just a boat ride from the boardwalk that is filled with entertainment.

The property can use some renovations (which is coming). The rooms are very outdated.

We had such a great time. I surprised my husband by not telling him that we had to get on and off the island where the hotel was located by boat. 24 hours service. He loved it! So yes the hotel is on an island off St.Croix main island lol Ok so the minute we got there check in was easy despite our flight being delayed so we got there about 8 pm. Our room was on the 3rd floor toward the back. Just want to say the minute we walked in the AC was on, the room was cool and fresh the room smelled wonderful everything was clean I didn’t see any bugs at all throughout our stay. Everything Worked microwave they had a toaster oven television AC hot water and a fridge, everything everything worked. We had a balcony looking out to the beautiful water, we cannot complain about anything, everything was just the bed was comfortable everything was really good. The staff were very sweet and pleasant. Location was perfect. Breakfast Lunch and Dinner on the main island. And you have your on private beach on the cay. And most of all very reasonable.. Oh And a tiki bar too

Yes I knew the pool wasn’t in service because of Hurricane Maria. But if they got that fixed that would have be the icing on the cake. But I already knew this but we were so busy that it was ok

This location was great for us! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved the beach access a few steps away from the hotel. The boat people who took us to Christiansted were always friendly and on point. Overall great experience.

The only thing we didn’t like was waiting for beach towels in the morning.

Room was comfortable, clean and spacious. The view was great and the ac worked well.

It was very noisy early in the morning. Between the Roosters, cars, trucks and doors slamming, sleeping in just wasn't in the cards.
