Oaklands Guest House

Tim and Teresa were fantastics hosts and we had a lovely welcome when we arrived, the breakfast's were amazing and so much food ! and nothing was too much trouble , the room was spotlessly clean and a good size, the tea's/coffees topped up each day, with a small fridge with fresh milk and water in the room. The hotel was only a short10/15 minute walk to the harbour where there were plenty of eating/ drinking pubs restaurants. Tim and Teresa also recommended places to eat and advised booking in advance which was really helpful, all in all a wonderful stay !

Fantastic small hotel within easy reach of Weymouth town centre yet in a very quiet area and always room to park on the premises, even in full summer. The hotel is beautifully and tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing, fantastic choice of fruits, cereals and local jams and beautifully cooked savoury choices with daily specials. Every little detail was thought of and Tim and Teresa were great hosts, always on hand for a chat or recommendation or to lend a map. We would not hesitate to recommend.

The accomodations are so beautiful, the bed was perfect for us, excellent quality and options for breakfast, and hosts friendly. The neighborhood is quiet and Although it's a few minutes walk to the seafront, it's a nice few minutes walk 😉 It was everything I would want, actually, and so happy we chose it. Character and personality and charm and gorgeously designed. LOVED the shower enclosure. We didn't spend much time in the lounge but I would have under different circumstances, and the honesty bar is an inspired idea, and a gorgeous piece of furniture too. Hubby really liked that. Also, I think one of the best Eggs Benedict I've had in some time, and Hubby loved his eggs with avocado.

Personally, I don't think the art on the walls go with the rest of the design, at least not in the room we stayed in (room 2). I'd go with something more Rothko, or Banksy repros, or rustic paintings and collages by local artists, or a mix.

you MUsT stay here if you want a truly unique, beautiful and authentic experience! the hosts are such lovely people and so attentive you can tell they put so much love into running this beautiful place, the rooms are all unique and beautiful in itself - very steam punk mixed with its own different styles in each room - breakfast was the best ive had so far in terms of the fresh fruit and berries… omg! so yum! and Ella museli who is one my my favs and they catered for me being plant based so im so appreciative of that - they also ahve a little bar with everything and its an honour system so you just put your name down as to what youve had and they charge your card after you leave - 10-15min walk to the old town and its nice safe simple and easy - parking is available - i give oaklands 15/10 and would def come back! thankyou!

Everything was fantastic. I received a text welcoming us and informing us our room was ready. We were greeted at the property by Tim. Very welcoming and friendly. Once we checked in Tim showed us around. The whole building is immaculately presented, clean and welcoming. Our room was stunning with a massive ensure bathroom. The bed was so comfy, all the bedding was top notch, clean and comfy. When we met Teresa later in the afternoon she was just as welcoming and friendly. Breakfast on both days was amazing, plenty of choice, my partner only drinks skimmed milk, we requested this on check in and it was available in our room later in the day and every morning at breakfast. BEST B&B (GUEST HOUSE) WE HAVE STAYED IN!

The property is an old property, beautifully decorated to a very high standard, but appreciating and maintaining original features throughout. The front door is 100 years old and was undergoing restoration when we stayed. but this did not deter from the beautiful wood and carving. The property stands out and looks regal in its place. We stayed in Room 2, downstairs, which had industrial decoration, which really suited the. room. However there are three pictures in the room, which divert away from the theme, they are fun, and a bit sexy. There is a lounge with an honesty bar with a very good selection of drinks, and some snacks. No need to worry if you run out of tea or coffee in your room, there is a supply in the breakfast room left for guests, this was a lovely touch. The room is cleaned every day and always looked homely and welcoming. There is parking to front and back of property, but parking around the property is free, so no worries. Breakfast was beautifully executed, with cereal options, fruit, yoghurt, and endless supply of toast, tea and coffee. Tim and Teresa who own Oaklands run the breakfast with staff, who put on an amazing service. Tim delivers a cooked breakfast, fit for a king. always delicious and always eaten, while Teresa is front of house, making guests feel welcome and providing that customer service, which is key to their success. There is always a special on offer, worth looking out for. The property is 10 to 15 mins from sea front, with local roads providing cut through. Owners were more than happy to provide local information on where to eat, and popular places, which proved very helpful.

To be perfectly honest, there was nothing we did not like.

A BIG thank you to Tim & Teresa for making our 3 day break so special. It’s a beautiful house that’s tastefully decorated, & our room & bed was very comfortable with everything we could wish for. The staff were really kind & most helpful. We were always greeted with a warm welcome. Breakfast was fantastic, all cooked to perfection. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Oakland Guest House, just a perfect place to stay, & enjoy Weymouth beach walks, Harbour & town.

The owners have thought of everything the customer could possibly need. I loved the fridge in the room and the fresh milk, I’ve never stayed in a guest house that has that provided fresh milk before. The coffee bags are a good idea so the granules don’t go everywhere and the biscuits were our favourite so I’m afraid to say we ate all them. Nice & quiet and comfy beds, breakfast was lovely and they have specials each day, just a short 10-15 min walk to town. All in all a lovely stay.

Nice size room good bathroom. Lovely hosts who very accommodating. Food very good great choice with lovely fresh fruit daily. Had my special red bush tea and put some in my room which was appreciated. Good parking for all guests. Every room has a small fridge which is very useful and had fresh milk and bottle of water every day and courtesy tray was refreshed daily too. There was an honesty bar downstairs and ice machine too. Map of town and surrounding area given on arrival and leaflets available for visits.

Our only issue was for us personally was the bed was a little too soft. The tv had limited channels.

We had a lovely family stay at Oaklands. Tim and Teresa were very welcoming. The guesthouse is well maintained, the rooms are nicely decorated/modern and were comfortable. Breakfast was super!! Really appreciated the choice and daily special. It was helpful that we could park at Oaklands. Would definitely recommend.

A little further away from the the main tourist strip but we obviously knew that when booking. We walked in most days and got the occasional taxi back which was fine. The one communal 'hotel style' iron wasn't great but very minor in an otherwise lovely stay.
