Very friendly welcome from Alex and he gave us some great tips for exploring the area. Gardens very lovely to relax in and adequate seating/sun loungers. Breakfast was very nice and staff were particularly attentive, friendly & efficient. This was a trip down memory lane for me as it’s 42yrs since I stayed here as a young girl with my parents and brother. Happy memories still there.
Couple of reception staff not so friendly (older couple). Not acknowledged by older lady….and on check out, the older gentleman never asked if we’d enjoyed our stay or any other conversation from him. I think, on the whole, customer service is just not as good as it was back in the day, which is a shame as it either makes or breaks the experience! Coffee on both mornings at breakfast was lukewarm.

The room was as advertised, small but comfortable. the en suite facilities were a bit cramped but did not detract from the comfort of the room. The breakfast was very good. The dinners were excellent, with 3 - 4 choices of starter and main and dessert each night, I stayed 3 nights and the menu was different each night.
There is nothing I can say that I didn't like about the hotel. If you want to walk into the town it takes about 20 minutes, but there is a steep hill up and down both ways, going into town and coming back to the hotel. However there is an hourly bus service from outside the hotel that runs hourly.

Very well run, efficient and unobtrusive. but consistent service Good staff presence and leadership. Quiet, immaculately clean, good public rooms and dining room plus wonderful garden with plenty of shade and sun and places to sit and ponder, or read, or sleep. Exceptional location just yards from a very good beach which was never too busy yet a manageable walk into the hustle and bustle of Torquay itself. Wholly exceptional restaurant with an evening meal, fresh produce, freshly cooked and well presented at a very reasonable price. Far better value that most in the area.
Some of the bedrooms are small, designated "Cosy", and although very clean and with every facility still feel a little jaded. But a minor issue since the comfort and service of this hotel in all other respects was so good.

AllThe food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant and frendly nothing was too much trouble for them. Very niceely furnished with beautiful gardens really enjoyed our stay .
We would have liked a bigger room. We had a very small room called a cosy room just a bed and wardrobe no chairs to sit on had to use the bed small bathroom with a shower and of course the weather could have been better.rain almost every day apart from that couldn’t fault anything

The grounds are lovely as are the staff Lovely English Breakfast. Pleasant walk to the Harbour. There is a lovely coastal walk from the bottom of the road at Meadfoot Beach into Torquay, well recommended it. Mant thanks for a comfortable stay.
Everything was good We had a cosy room so no complaints there We could just of done with a stool to use the dressing table & the mirror.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. My room was comfortable and clean. The food was delicious. Dinner was great. Breakfast was really good and well served in a very relaxed but efficient way. The entertainment was very good and the lounge and bar area very comfortable. Although I was alone I was made to feel very welcome and fellow guests were very pleasant. Very near the beach and the hotel has a lovely patio and gardens.
Maybe they could do with a lift as there are quite a lot of steps and stairs.

I picked this spot because I loved the look of the lawn area. It was very nice, along a nice road too with plenty of places to walk to. The room was lovely. Cozy. And the breakfast in the morning was great!
The wifi was terrible. Basically unusable. Also because of the location I didnt have any 5G service. So not a great spot if you have computer work to do. Also the clientele here were at least 20yrs older than me. Which is fine with me, but it had me wondering if I had booked a 55+ location by accident.

Couldn't fault the hotel everything was perfect clean and tidy so relaxing staff really nice nothing to much trouble very polite they made you feel so welcome..The hotel was not far from the beach just a short walk and the town didn't take long to walk there or there was a bus stop right outside the hotel and the bus came every fifteen minutes there and back.
Could not fault anything

I found the hotel easily - mentioning the red letter box is helpful - and I was able to park there each evening. The spaces are adequate if drivers park carefully. The food was very good and the atmosphere relaxed as all the staff are pleasant and keen to assist the visitors.
I had help with carrying my suitcase up to the single room on the second floor. Described as "cosy" the room was small and quiet with the basin by the bed, while the toilet and shower were en suite. There was only an open rail for clothes but plenty of drawer space and the bed was comfortable. I adapted to the conditions during my stay!

The hotel itself was stunning, beautiful grounds with sun loungers and seating, had a cream tea on the terrace, delicious. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. Had arrived on two motorcycles and were able to park on the grounds of the hotel. The room was very comfortable and meticulously clean, lovely thick white towels, bed and pillows were great. Tea and coffee in the room. There were so many areas you could sit and relax in this beautiful hotel. The restaurant was set out superbly, the breakfast menu was exceptionally detailed and served lovely and hot. I really can’t fault The Balmoral at all. I would highly recommend this hotel without a shadow of doubt. Thank You.
