Fab location. Good size, clean, comfortable room- lots of mini toileries and hot drink items provided., value for money
Unfortunately the outdoor pool and bar are being renovated so out of use. Will return again when completed.

Lovely location, near the front, town centre not too far away providing you went the right way of course. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the meals were good , covered to keep warm with lids unlike some other hotels that leave them open to the elements. There were not too many people in the hotel so looking after the customers wasn't hard for the staff. Having said that, they still went out of their way. This is my one of many visits to Torquay and I was caught in 1995 by the mysterious water bug that recurs in Torquay, so I made sure to use bottled water for my teeth, not tap water. Just a precaution I took, once bitten twice shy. I did it in the Canaries as well so perhaps it was just myself. Certainly no sign of that this time, and I've been to Torquay many times since, so it's all good. As I have a bus pass now travel was easy. All the same I went on the train to Barnstaple and back for under a tenner, (with senior Railcard), the trains may not be the most modern but they have an old feel to them that appeals to me, modern is not always the best. But so cheap it's unreal. I wish it was that cheap around my way (Cambridgeshire), but some chance near London !
The window in my room couldn't be opened or closed from its original position. As it was hot I wanted to open it further for which I needed an unfindable key. Didn't spend that much time in my room so didn't get around to doing much about it but I'm sure the staff would have done something if asked. Also the carpet in the breakfast room I nearly caught with my foot and went flying, it had folded over, nearly had me over a couple of times. Perhaps a bit of double sided tape underneath would prevent that, other than that just had to be careful where I trod carrying a plate with food. Again I didn't bring this up, just forgot by the time I had eaten I suppose, as I didn't actually fall over, thank God. But this sort of stuff is common anywhere so I didn't make a fuss.

Such a lovely hotel. We were welcomed by Rob who provided us with excellent service! The room was lovely and had all the amenities we needed. Love that there is an indoor pool too. The hotel is a quick walk from the beach and restaurants, it is very conveniently located. We were able to park right at the hotel, after paying for the spot (which we were happy to do!), they put a note up with our name on it so it was clear that space was reserved. The hotel rooms come with plenty of tea, coffee, and even some biscuits which is such a lovely touch!
If you are going to go for breakfast, go early. Service dramatically slows down around 20-30 mins before the end of breakfast and staff stop refilling things. They are more concerned about cleaning up. The first day we had breakfast at 8:30 and had plenty to eat, the next day 9:15 and had very little to eat based on food availability.

The room and the fact that the dog was allowed. The room was a nice size, and the children loved having their own room with their own TV. The pool was amazing and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The garden out the rear of the building was a great place to take the dog.
The bath in the room did not seal properly, so it would drain before it got full, so I had to seal it with a face cloth. WIFI was very weak and needs to be improved No bins outside the premises, and considering dogs are allowed, it would be nice to have a bin near the yard to dispose of dog waste The parking bays are extremely tight, so much so that you can barely climb out of the car once parked.

The location is excellent for the seaside and local amenities, with everything easily accessible on foot. The family room was spacious and well-equipped. The cooked breakfast was very good, and the coffee was enjoyable. Staff were friendly and helpful, even directing me to a free parking area nearby.
Parking is very limited and must be booked in advance. There’s no lift to the third floor, which can be difficult for guests with mobility or invisible disabilities. The room could benefit from an air conditioner, it was very hot at night, and opening the windows let in road noise, making sleep challenging. The television felt small for the size of the room, though this may not matter to everyone. Continental breakfast had very few items, really need a good rethink.

Very pleasant staff. Value for money considering that the hotel has only recently been acquired & it obviously needs some TLC. Great location next to the Torre Abbey Museum & the Riviera Gardens. Bathroom was great with a proper hot shower with 'Rain' shower option. When we booked we were told that the pool was closed but this did not apply to the indoor pool. If we had known we would have taken costumes. We'll remember next time 😉
Breakfast was confusing as the first morning was buffet & the next was table service. Once we had worked out the system & why it changed without notice it was fine. The food was brilliant so this is strictly speaking not a criticism. .Btw, Parking is limited & can be booked at a cost. However there is also another small parking are that is round the corner & it's FREE.

White fluffy towels and bedding 👌 Value for money. A great breakfast was included in the price. Very clean hotel Newly decorated room Free parking Extremely helpful staff members who are working hard to make sure you have a pleasant comfortable stay. Excellent location near to beach, harbour, shops bars and restaurants. Sea view room Tea/coffee making facilities in the room
The rooms are basic but clean and everything you need. We were a little disappointed about the pools not been in use at the hotel as when we booked we weren't notified about this, but the staff ensured my little boy and i was able to use the Riviera splash centre just a 5min walk away for free so this definitely made our stay more enjoyable. Thankyou we had a wonderful stay.

Room was great with sea view, we had a room for 3 adults, a family room , and extended our stay fro 2 to 4 days. also the hotel building which had a lot of original features, chandeliers, glass , we were not sure was it art nouveau ? anyway mostly just it had not been spoilt and one room we had when we extended our stay had high ceilings and wonderful hand made( I think) curtains, breakfast was perfect as although we don't eat meat it didn't matter as lots of fruit and plain yoghurt with lots of healthy options. Most important the staff were without exception friendly and fun. so I felt at ease in this wonderful building. pool was also unique. looking forward to coming back
All perfect, nothing I didn't like, all the important things were right and not pretentious.
