We loved everything about our stay at The Red Lion from the reception to the housekeeping staff. Our room was tastefully decorated spacious, very clean and quiet. The bed was super comfortable and the shower was great too. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this accommodation and we will be staying here next time we visit the area as it is perfect for visiting family near by in Sheffield & Derbyshire. We ate in the pub the night we arrived and I was impressed with the service the waiters were very attentive and provided great customer service. The breakfast menu had a great variety of choices. A great stay!

I have high standards and have stayed in 5 star hotels, and even so, this inn is up there with my favourites. Absolutely sparkling clean, no weird smells, everything felt like it was in mint condition, lovely stylish interiors, good amount of warm lighting in rooms, bathrooms are fabulous with rain shower heads and regular detachable shower heads so you can wash in comfort. Also very nice staff. It feels so luxurious staying here and considering how top quality everything is, the price is totally worth every penny. This is the reason I will continue to come back here whenever I go to Sheffield, it’s worth the 15 minute drive to get there for the sake of staying somewhere nice and cosy. Already booked my next stay!!

Spacious room. Comfortable bed. Very good breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful. No traffic noise. attractive decor.

1 - Wi-Fi system very poor. Had to use “The Cloud” and create a Sky account, which required sharing personal information- date of birth, age, sex, etc. we have never experienced this in a hotel before. The signal was rubbish anyway, and I wasn’t able to use my phone’s personal hotspot as an alternative to Rupert Murdoch’s evil empire. 3 - Lack of tourist information. We wanted to research local tourism opportunities, and without the internet, we needed some brochures, but there were none available.

The hotel was beautiful. The public house side of the Red Lion was like an old world country pub, lots of cosy corners for intimate talking. We were up from Sussex for a funeral. The room was spotless and the bed was comfortable. We had a meal in the restaurant and the food and service was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and we would certainly return to stay there again. It was perfect for the motorway and getting into Sheffield. I would recommend it to family and friends.

I couldn't really fault the place. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom mirror was way too high. I'm only 5ft tall and couldn't see my face in it to do my make up. I used the long mirror in the room as there wasn't a dressing table mirror, but it certainly would not deter me from going back. I'd just bring with me a make up mirror. The Red Lion would be my first choice for a hotel visit to Sheffield in future.

Best hotel room we have ever stayed in for the price we paid. Bathroom was excellent, hot shower, clean and decorated to a high standard. Comfy bed and lovely touches, chocolates to welcome us! The hotel and restaurant are wonderfully decorated and we loved the industrial/farm vibes, which tied to the history of the building.

Room wasn’t ready on check in. Some of the food was exceptional (rib of beef, Sunday lunch), some not so and never once was asked if the food was ok. However, we made a comment about missing items on the breakfast menu, which were rectified by way of a discount.

The decor was really lovely in the bedrooms and bathroom. (It is newly refurbished). Little extras were provided such as biscuits, chocolates, toiletries and we’d asked for a quiet room which we were given. We had breakfast which was excellent and the food in the restaurant was also delicious with a good choice. All the employees were really helpful and cheerful too.

The pillows were really firm and ‘full’. We asked if there were some alternative pillows as we couldn’t get comfy with them but we were told ‘they are hotel industry standard’ straight away (which made us think others had already asked for alternative pillows), it would be good to have some other available for guests.

I travel a lot and generally stay in corporate style hotels in City Centres. I love this place though! Recently refurbished, the breakfasts are excellent, the service and staff manner lovely and for someone that spends so much time away from home, this is by far the best place I've stayed that makes me feel 'at home'. Free parking, Brekkie included, excellent well stock bar with good range of beers - VFM it knocks Leonardo's in centre of Sheffield into a copped hat!

During the recent cold spell, the dining room was quite chilly in the evenings, but my most recent visit it was fine. It was -5 in March though!

Friendly,professional, hardworking staff.....Jude and Rebbeca on reception are both amazing and go beyond and above to make sure you have an perfect stay.....Both are a great asset to the hotel...Lynda Head Housekeeper is always helpful,hardworking and again an asset to the hotel,she is very friendly,polite and always willing to help guests ....All staff at this hotel are truly amazing including the Assistant Manager Laura who is truly remarkably ....Well Done all at the Red Lion hotel ....

The decor was really high end, very comfortable rooms and roomy. lots of attention to detail and it felt really good

I think the staff were maybe a little overworked and some seemed very stressed. we had a nice dinner but the girl behind the bar seemed really stressed when we asked her to make a cocktail on the menu and we were barked at about coming to get a table. breakfast was quite good generally but a few strange things like serving us instant coffee (I think!) in a teapot. overall I think it was a great place but maybe need some. let staff to manage the busy-ness

The hotel staff are always excellent, the room was clean and well presented with an great ensuite. the Breakfast service was well organised and the breakfast I ordered arrived quickly and was very nice. I didn't eat dinner at the hotel but I know it is available and has always been very good in the past.

The only thing that is a slight negative is the Wi-Fi service in the hotel but I know they are updating the system and service provider and I am sure this will rectify any issues.
