Willington Hall Hotel

Great place to stay, lovely traditional building, fantastic staff ( the owner was about checking on things and making sure everything was ok), food was great including a wonderful breakfast, and the surroundings were comfortable and relaxing. Will definitely stay again. Fabulous! Thank you one and all.

Nothing although having booked on a dinner,bed and breakfast rate the extra charges were most confusing. It's probably better to pay for what you eat rather than some parts of the meals and then be surcharged on the others. There is no advance guidance given as to what is involved in the DB&B rate nor how surcharges are calculated. This is not a complaint as we had a wonderful stay but could be helpful info for others.

Due to Willington Hall being near to Oulton Park this is our second visit. There is a carpark outside the hotel which is private. Our room was large and very comfortable. There was a flat screen TV in the room and also Free wi-fi. All the staff were friendly, professional and did everything they could which made us feel very much at home. The breakfasts were good and set us up for the day. Evening meal was something to look forward to on our return with a good menu and excellent food. Thank you Willington Hall we will be back.

Set in a beautiful location and so peaceful, close to Delemere forest and Chester. The staff were amazing, all so friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was lovely and included in the price. We had dinner one evening and the food was delicious and presented well. Overall, we had a lovely stay and will definitely visit again!

The dinner menu was a little pricey, but can't complain as the food was worth it. The rooms were a little run down, but was to be expected given the age of the house but they were still comfortable and clean.

Lovely food, lots of choice our meals were included which was nice. Excellent staff and nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel welcome. The room was large and comfortable with lots of space. The heated towel rail was on in the bathroom which was lovely. The room was attended to each day with soap shampoo & shower gel. Tea and Coffee facilities also in the room. The hotel had a family feel and due to this other couples joined in conversations which we enjoyed. The hotel is not far from Oulton Park where we attended the BSB.

We did have an issue with fly's in the room & could have done with some fly spray! This is a lovely old building with high ceilings so the fly's were out of our way and once the light was out they were fine. This would not put us off staying again.

Beautiful building in a stunning location. The rooms were typical of an old country house - large room and bathroom with traditional style furniture. The heating worked well, the room was toasty warm. We had dinner and breakfast. All food was cooked to order, served hot, well presented and delicious. Michele was a wonderful host and seemed to be running the place single handed.

We had to wait a while for someone to attend to us when we arrived. It felt a little disorganised. Poor Michele seemed to be running around doing everything - bar, restaurant and reception!

lovely property so much history- gardens delightful. property and rooms although very pleasant perhaps a little tired but that does not detract from the wonderful historical house. food good but not overwhelming. staff worked hard although only 7 guests for dinner.

not made aware of inclusive meal 2 courses. breakfast good but also not made aware of self service trolley but really very nice and from a slightly different era but that was not a bad thing

The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The size of the bedroom and ensuite was impressive, the communal rooms likewise. The bed was really comfortable and even when freezing outside our bedroom temperature was good at all times. Breakfast was excellent and we were offered extra toast every day. Lovely grounds around the outside of the hotel to walk aroundl.

The hotel was lacking in upkeep. Our shower could not be turned down from scalding hot, but we did have a nice bath too. The bedroom and ensuite needed better lighting... Shaving and makeup difficult. The room was not serviced every day. There was not much to do in the hotel outside our room, the bar shut early. but to be fair we went out of season. The hotel is in the perfect setting to unwind. It would be lovely to have a hot tub/,spa there and perhaps offer massages. It lends itself to a really nice health retreat/spa, perhaps like a Champneys.

We had a function which was excellent and the care that was taken of us was faultless. The food and the wines-as well as the service was all that any of the 20 of us could have asked for-and it was very good value for money

We chose to stay overnight-and enjoyed another very comfortable stay in a very well appointed room. The quality of the breakfast was also of a high standard-however there were not enough front of house staff on duty to ensure an efficient table service, and the waiting times were longer than expected.

The location is gorgeous with pretty peaceful grounds.

The room was cold upon arrival and it was winter time. We were provided with plug in heaters but actually, once turned on, the radiators worked. We had advised the hotel of our arrival time so it would have been easy to have the room warm. Our neighbours complained their room was very cold so I gave them our spare heaters. We were assured that we could be catered for as vegans and gave plenty of notice regarding our requirements, but this was not the case. The chef made absolutely no effort to take care of us and the artisan bread and olive starter was served with a tiny amount of balsamic swimming in the yukiest tasting vegetable oil. Even though there was no desert for us we were charged for coffees at the end of the package included meal. We ate out the next night.

A very relaxing stay at Willington Hall and all the staff were so good. The building is old and full of character and the parking is great because it is in the country we felt at ease parking our trike without fear of someone touching breaking or stealing it.

I had an accident and fell on the first day of my holidays and needed to use crutches and I thought a lift woukd have help immensely.
