Absolutely beautiful courtyard garden with spaces to sit and relax. The welcome drink by the fountain was heaven. Bridget is an excellent host and the whole property was spotless with lovely bedding and thick white towels. The period features gave the ground floor room a room a very interesting ambience and a change from modern hotel style. The Old Kiln House is a marvellous centre for exploring the Cotswolds - nowhere is far to drive to and the roads in mid July were so quiet. There are plenty of individual places to eat in Shipston on Stour and not a corporate outlet to be seen!!
The only negative comment I would give is that the steps down from the bed onto uneven flagstones were a little hazardous for older people (we were able to dim the lights so we could see during the night to go to the bathroom), and the shower in the bath is also better suited to the more nimble!! However it was an enjoyable experience!

Whenever you see something described as a "hidden gem" you'd be forgiven for thinking that little-or-no thought had gone into its description, however, sometimes, that's exactly what something is. In fact, so much so, that I'm almost reluctant to sing Bridget's praises for fear that this "gem" won't stay "hidden", however, you've gotta think of the bigger picture. Highly recommended.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at The Old Kiln House B&B and I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The place was simply charming, and everything was kept immaculately clean. It's clear that the owners take great pride in the upkeep of the property. Bridget, the host, was an absolute delight. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome and was always available to offer advice and assistance whenever we needed it. Her warm hospitality was truly a highlight of my stay. The breakfast served at The Old Kiln House was a real treat. The food was delicious, and Bridget made sure that everything was nicely presented. It was a great way to start the day. Overall, I would highly recommend The Old Kiln House B&B to anyone looking for a comfortable, charming and welcoming place to stay. The combination of clean, cozy accommodations, friendly hospitality, and delicious breakfast makes for an unbeatable experience. I would definitely stay here again in the future

Bridget thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The bedroom decor was lovely, lots of lovely little touches including bottled water, fresh milk each day for our tea and coffee, great walk in shower, heated towel rail. She welcomed us on arrival with a little drink and snack. Breakfast each day was delicious and the ingredients were as locally sources as they could be. She offered to make dinner reservations for us and was generally a great attentive host. Would love to go back. Thank you Bridget!
We liked everything.

The Old Kiln House was beautifully furnished and we had such a warm welcome from Bridget, who was very friendly and helpful with her knowledge of the local area. It was comfortable and well equipped - so much attention to detail. The linen and towels were of superior quality and the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful - using local produce and served in a beautiful dining room.
Nothing negative to say

We were met at the gate by Bridget and first impressions were of stepping into an oasis. A beautiful courtyard garden lead us to the entrance to the house which is full of character and original features. The entrance hall and adjoining rooms were beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout and our room on the ground floor was equally lovely and relaxing. Clearly great care has been taken to retain the character of this property and Bridget providing equal care to look after us during our all too short stay.
There was absolutely nothing to find fault or complain about. Bridget made us feel very welcome and took great care to ensure we enjoyed our stay.

The choices for breakfast were excellent. There were cereals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt to help yourself to. The cooked breakfasts were delicious with locally sourced bacon and sausages. Bridget cooked everything in her beautiful kitchen which was open in view and freshly prepared to a very high standard. Freshly squeezed orange juice was provided along with tea and coffee. Home made jam, marmalade and toast was also available.
There wasn't anything not to like.

Bridget was an exemplary host, going above and beyond to give us a lift to our restaurant booking even when other taxis were fully booked. Breakfast each morning was cooked to order and tasted great. The room was extremely well presented and clean. Location was fab. The prices were extremely reasonable.
