Quite and friendly establishment Elaine and Peter really looked after us and made us feel welcome, the breakfast was superb. we especially liked the fact we had an external entrance which meant we could come and go as we pleased. We had the room with the hot tub in a private garden area which Pete heated twice for us, lovely stay would heartily recommend.

Nothing really, if I was to make one constructive comment it would be, as in essence the bar area closes at 8.00pm may be there could be some beers or miniature spirits in the fridge, but this is just a minor point.

Elaine and Pete were absolutely fabulous hosts, and breakfast was wonderful both mornings of our stay. I personally wanted a bit of a lighter breakfast both days and Elaine was really happy to help. The terrace was a lovely little spot for a sunny evening, and the setting was lovely and quiet meaning we slept brilliantly both nights of our stay.

The water temperature is SUPER hot - which was great but meant it took a bit of time to find the perfect temperature. I really loved the clawfoot tub but it made it a bit difficult to take a shower without getting water everywhere 🙈

After a nightmare day of our car breaking down, Elaine and Pete couldn't have been more accomodating for us! We informed them we would be late, and after arriving at 8pm, checked in and they offered us home made soup and snacks, lovely wine and relaxing place to sit and unwind. The room was amazing, very comfy, great facilities and just felt like home from home. The breakfast was outstanding, one of the best full english' i've had in a long time! Even after breakfast they couldn't have been more helpful whilst we waited for recovery to take us home I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough, and we will definitely be back! Easily one of the best places i've stayed in the UK in terms of everything being as good as it can be

There was literally nothing i didn't like

Exceptional throughout, completely exceeded our expectations. This venue was the perfect location for us to stay for a local wedding but the setting, in beautiful, quiet country side, was an added bonus. The room turned out to be a cosy suite, beautifully decorated throughout and impeccably clean. The hosts were welcoming and very helpful, breakfast was fabulous and nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended and I'm already planning a return

I honestly can't think of anything

This is now one of our favourite places to stay when heading into Wales, the hosts were very helpful and couldn't do enough for you, we were met on the car park by Peter and instantly made to feel very welcome, we then met Elaine who was exactly the same. Our room was immaculate and the Laura Ashley wallpaper was good to see, the room was very modern and comfortable too, you can instantly tell the hosts have put a lot of effort into making your stay as enjoyable as possible. We stayed in for our evening meal too, this was homemade by Elaine and was delicious, not too mention the breakfast, oh wow the breakfast. If your heading into Wales and are looking for a place to stay Tafarn Y Waen should be at the top of your list.

The host and hostess were very welcoming. They provided a delicious meal despite the fact we hadn't let them know when we would be arriving ( we were walking through wind and rain and weren't sure when we would arrive). We were given a lift back to the Offa's Dyke in the morning after a delicious and fulsome breakfast. The room and facilities were very comfortable and much appreciated. We were delighted that a lift was offered to take us back to Offa's Dyke in the morning. It turned out they would have picked us up the evening before, so I'd advise walkers to call the Tafarn y Waen and ask, because they are happy to pick people up from the local villages.

We were greeted by the lovely couple who own the B&B and they were very friendly and helpful. The room we had was very well presented and felt like home away from home. Very clean and well decorated with everything you need, including some milk and water in the fridge, and even a cute little teapot to make a pot of tea 😃 Location was great - lots of lovely walks and views at your doorstep. We walked some of the Pilgrams way towards St.Asaph through some lovely fields full of sheep. The night sky is full of stars you don’t usually get to see due to light pollution in towns and cities. Breakfast is yummy and they go the extra mile in getting you veggie sausages if you request this ahead of time. Really appreciated that.

Nothing! It was a great place to stay.

Liked the personal access from the outside. Appreciated the water bottles and jug of fresh milk in the fridge. Liked the Kit kats rather than the usual packets of biscuits. The TV was the best I've come across in a B&B or Hotel - very pleased to find it had Netflix.

It would have been nice to have been offered cereal, fruit as an alternative to full English. To be fair when I asked, cereal and simple scrambled eggs on toast were no trouble to provide. The duvets were really big and heavy, which I'm sure some people are perfectly happy with. I just prefer a lighter duvet which isn't so wide. Please don't be offended by these comments, our stay was lovely. Just believe in being honest and hopefully constructively critical! :}

Exceptional accommodation. Breakfast was amazing. Really can not fault the whole place. Pete and Elaine were fantastic hosts and looked after us like we were royalty x lovely touch with bottle of fizz and chocolate strawberries on our arrival. Hot Tub was perfect.

Can’t think of anything that we didn’t like. A truly great place for relaxation and recuperation, for anyone who really need a break from life’s dramas.

an 'out in the sticks' property, but a quick drive to the main A55 road. The breakfast was a lovely full Welsh breakfast every morning, but they could alter the dish as you liked. The room was large and storage plentiful, with a small fridge and 2 TV's. Access was via it's own doors, there was a lovely out door seating area which we sat at and had a drink.

The shower was not independent, but over the bath, so had to kneel in the bath to get showered, so the floor got a little wet.
