The location is fantastic, the breakfasts are amazing, great value for money. Apart from summer months you can park on the street all of your stay, but there is a car park at the rear of the property for residents. The bar has a great range of beers , whiskeys & gins😁& knowledgeable bar staff. The hotel was pretty full but we heard no noise from other rooms
Our room was at the back & wed to keep the curtains closed as there are appartments behind the hotel. Not great for such lovely bright nights & mornings. You Def need a room at the front. Our bathroom was "tired" & needed alot of tlc, & the chairs in the room were worn.

The staff were very helpful, friendly, and welcoming and happy to answer any questions. The breakfast is nice you can't really complain as there is more than enough and lots to choose from. The staff were very helpful as the coffee machine broke so one of the members of staff made coffee especially for us. The reception is 24 hours, which is really helpful as we were in and out of the hotel a lot. Also, we needed to check out really early for flight. There is parking outside the hotel we stayed in december so it was completely free and plenty of bays available. As for the room, we had a Seaview room which had a perfect view of the sea, which was amazing, and another facing the other side of the building onlooking the carpark, which was fine both rooms were really warm and temperature could be easily adjusted bathrooms were very tidy nice big mirror the shower water pressure wasn't great but enough to have a decent shower. Honestly, I would recommend it to anyone visiting and would probably return again myself.
My only complaints about the room were no clothing iron provided with the room, and the tv didn't really have many working channels.

Staff were very friendly and the food was good and a great selection of food for breakfast.
Our room was very poor and needs an upgrade. We stayed in room 203. The paint was very poor and there was up in 30 touch ups of different shades of white. The red wall was very poorly painted and the skirting boards were very mouldy and dirty. Also the carpet was stained and worn. The food tray for cups also was very dirty and there was loads of dust to the obvious eye. The bathroom was average and could have been cleaned a little better. It was overloaded with dust. We paid a fair price for the room, the beds were comfy and clean. I hate to be the one leaving reviews and don't usually leave comments but there were quite a few issues with the room and want to give my honest opinion on our stay.

The hotel was very comfortable and we got parked at the door. Bed was very comfortable too and the shower had a great flow so was great. The breakfast was a buffet and cook was topping up with freshly cooked items continuously so it was really lovely.
We mentioned when leaving and staff noted this so it was fine. Heating in the room was almost overwhelming as the radiator valve was not closing the water supply to the radiator although it was in the off position. We coped with opening windows and the door etc except when sleeping This was not something the staff could do there and then so the hotel we are absolutely sure would have a plumber in to fix. So this is NOT a complaint.

Breakfast was good, great selection. The location is great, so easy to get about. Hotel is very comfortable so would recommend.
The only negative thing was that the hotel were not serving any meals so we had to eat out and because we stayed on a Monday & Tuesday there weren't many places open. We weren't informed of this at the time of the booking and i felt for such a big hotel they should be catering for guests who want to have a meal whether it's a quiet time of the year or not.

The room we stayed in was quite outdated and could use some renovations, particularly when it came to improving the lighting. Despite this, our room had a window that allowed some natural light to filter in, which made the atmosphere a bit more pleasant. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the staff; they were incredibly friendly and eager to assist with any requests we had. Their helpfulness truly enhanced our experience. Breakfast was another highlight. It was a self-service arrangement, allowing us to choose exactly what we wanted, which I found quite convenient. I also appreciated the option to request free-from items, catering to various dietary needs, which is always a thoughtful touch. Overall, despite the room's need for modernization, my positive experiences with the staff and the breakfast options make me inclined to stay here again in the future.

Convenient location within walking distance of the Train and bus depot. Nice garden directly outside the Hotel with promised views up to Scotland...our weather in February was wall to wall grey cloud. But I do believe the views exist beyond the Skerries. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The hotel is dated and needs money investing to reclaim former glories. Front door sticks, H&O missing from Hotel sign on chamfered corner. Rust showing through paintwork on the external wall. The lift is clanky and doesn't inspire confidence.

I asked for Seaview and the lady kindly changed me to a front room. Booking.com can be very misleading and make you think you have a frontal room when you don't. Always check! The breakfast was reasonable. We had hot breakfast. There was a mixture of cereals and breads crossaints jams. More than enough to get me and the kids sorted. Beds comfy. Room spacious and shower was powerful.
Few broken tiles. Bit run down. Some mould on bathroom ceiling. Crack in sink. Could be doing with a bit of attention
