Dunarle Guesthouse

I liked everything about this guest house. I was made to feel very welcome and the lady looking after the guest house could not have been more helpful and caring. The room was well furnished, a very good size and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was good, I liked that you could choose what cooked items you wanted and they were ready for you at the time ordered. I will definitely come to stay again. This was fantastic value for money. As a guest coming alone I felt absolutely safe and welcome.

Nothing, even the weather was good in late October!

The bed was comfortable, location was excellent, minutes from main street. Kettle, tea/coffee facilities, free toiletries in shared bathroom. When I asked for new towels, halfway through my week, Joyce delivered them quickly. I had everything I needed. It didn't seem that I was, sharing the bathroom with many other people. I was able to leave my bags in guest house next door for an hour after check out. This was very helpful. Good value for money.

On arrival, I found ear plugs in my room. I suppose I'm a light sleeper. My room was right next to front door and street, so I heard a lot of noise from street and other guests coming in/out, slamming door from around 6am each morning, and through night. Not a huge problem, but it did effect my sleep. This was the only issue I had during my stay.

Everything. The rooms are comfortable, very clean and has everything you require for a stay. Ear plugs were supplied but we didn't require them. Not having breakfast price included as we're not breakfast people. We did overhear a couple praising the 1st class breakfast though. Well equipped with kettle, variety of teas,coffee etc in room. Hair dryer and toiletries supplied. We both have walking difficulties but this property is only an easy under 10 min walk from the harbour.

One tiny picky point. Thin curtains that let in the light. I use an eye mask so no problem but my partner woke early. His fault!!!

Check in was quick and easy. Hotel room and shared bathrooms were spotlessly clean! The hotel smelled amazing everywhere in the building. Bed was comfortable and a nice sized room. Room had a great selevtion of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. Very central to Oban centre! And great parking right next door.

Although the hotel was clean and comfortable, in general the price was rather high for the style and standard of the accomodation. Plain white bedding would improve the overall standard of the room. Mattress had a protector on it, however the pillows didn't.

Room was small but had tea, coffee, hot chocolate, biscuits, milk, hairdryer, everything very clean, good bed. Pleasant staff, readily supplied more basics. Not sure why people complained about the sea views - there were sea views from the window (partially obscured by a building) but why would you sit in a room looking out the window when the seaside promenade is literally a minutes walk away!

If you are tall I wouldn’t book the upstairs room 5 as part of the room has a sloping attic type ceiling, easy to bang your head!

Really appreciated having a sitting chair in the room. Makes it a little more comfortable to relax rather than just a bed. The location is great and we could see the water from our room. Really close pay to park car lot next door. I also really enjoyed the bourbon cream biscuits provided with the in room coffee and tea.

Only shampoo and body wash in one provided, so if you need hair conditioner, bring that with you.

Central with free overnight parking close by. We were staying over to catch the early morning ferry and it was ideal for our requirements

My room was ground floor on what is a pretty busy road so it was relatively noisy. Earplugs were provided ( a first for me) and that was very thoughtful & effective. For a longer stay I would recommend asking for a room not facing the road.

Located within an easy walk to Oban Distillery and all the pubs and restaurants. Room was small but very clean and the area around is safe and secure. Comfortable bed.

The TV was a bit dated and controls could only be operated at the TV. The remote turned it on and off but all other controls did not work.

We arrived at B&B and were put in the owners other property Dunmoore. Nice surprise as all rooms were ensuite. Rooms were nice & clean, comfy beds, nice showers and great location. Will deffo return to this property.

Excellent, cooked as required . Staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Coming back in the evening in the dark it was lovely to see the lights shining welcoming me back.

Wasn’t a problem for me it but there were a lot of stairs to rooms and down to the dining room.
