The staff are very friendly. Reception booking was very efficient and we were offered a warm chocolate chip cookie on arrival. Room was spacious and well appointed. Location is excellent just off the motorway as part of the services complex. Breakfast was good .

Even as a hotel guest you have to pay for car parking at the hotel. It is currently £5 per 24 hours and you must enter your car registration number on the terminal at reception on booking in. The other issue is that the hotel has no lift. The bedrooms are on the ground floor or on the first floor. If you are on the first floor then you have to carry your luggage up 2 flights of stairs. If you are disabled or mobility impaired then this is a challenge as it was for me . Therefore if you do not want to climb the stairs with luggage you must ask for a room beginning with 1 as these are on the ground floor . Rooms beginning with 2 are on the first floor .

Booked into this hotel for 1 Day to visit family nearby. From arrival to departure found all staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel was clean and my room was comfortable. Found area where room was (269) nice and quiet . I was concerned about some of reviews but I had no complaints and extended stay to 2 days. Nice warm cookie on arrival.

Disappointed that two of the facilities in the leisure pool were out of use ( Jacuzzi and steam room) . Female changing room in leisure pool was small, especially when children and families were using it for swimming lessons. Bedroom lighting quite dark . Room quite dated . No free parking. No biscuits left with coffee tea facilities.

Staff here all friendly polite and professional. They go the extra mile to ensure everything is ok. Room comfy food good breakfast excellent. Straight off the M4 but not noisy just very convenient. The spa is an added bonus.Definitely recommend

Room was a bit chilly and couldn’t get aircon to work but supplied heater did the job. Was surprised to need to query with server at dinner whether we had been given the correct menu as we were full board-turned out we hadn’t ! Good job I wondered could have been embarrassing

Location good. Breakfast suitable for everyone’s preferences. Did not use leisure facilities but was good to have that option. Staff friendly and helpful.The duty manager was very receptive to your views and feedback Lounge area lovely location for relaxing.

The bar was closed for refurbishment. They did have some drinks available but unfortunately but these were limited if non existent one evening. Should not have to pay for parking if you are resident in hotel.

Generally a very nice hotel. Very good, friendly and efficient staff. All the staff we met were polite, cheerful and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and spacious. Our room was a little dated, but well appointed and served its purpose well. All the food we had in the restaurant really was excellent, with a superb selection to chose from. The hotel was near to where we planed to meet family in Newbury so was convenient for our stay.

The weather was very cold during our stay and the hotel heating was not really up to the job. The communal areas of the hotel were extremely cold. The management need to arrange for some sort of space heater to be hired for the colder months. Our room was very cold when we arrived, but we turned the heating on and went into the town. The room was much warmer on our return a few hours later, but it took till morning for it to become comfortable. The bar was not well stocked and had a very limited selection for a hotel bar. It was to cold to spend any time at the bar anyway, so hopefully this will not still an issue during warmer months and a descent selection of beverages will be on offer commensurate with an hotel of this standing.

The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed, although is a little dated, not that this out us off much. The breakfast was excellent and had everything we may have wanted....and more. All the staff were very helpful and put in a little extra to make our stay enjoyable Special mention to the extremely hard working Hannah, she popped up everywhere, nothing was a problem and she was very pleasant to chat too, made our stay that little bit nicer - thank you.

No real downers just that rooms are a little dated but they are still very clean and comfortable. Oh and a small fridge wouldn't go amiss......

I always ask for a specific room which is on the ground floor and not to far to walk to. I notice that is has been upgraded with disabled toilet and bath facilities, and has pull cords to alert staff if the customer has difficulties. Nice and warm, with good heat/aircon. The breakfast was excellent as always although the price has increased to £15 and the only yogurt flavour was toffee (ugh!). Cooked breakfast and fruit was very good.

Nice large room, very friendly staff and night porter who kept the bar open for us when we returned from dinner.

We went for family weekend and everything in the hotel was good. Not all the rooms were as close as we would have liked but that caused no problems. The pool was great for the grandkids. There was plenty of seating in reception area. Breakfast was buffet with plenty of choice. My wife is coeliac and gluten free and the staff were really helpful to ensure there was no cross contamination. The one evening meal we had in the restaurant was good. Location close to M4 and Newbury was excellent.

Restaurant couldn't serve food before 8pm due to Christmas parties taking priority. They did provide cheesy chips for the children which was fine.

Everything minus one thing was perfect with our trip to the Doubletree Hilton. The lobby area is a lovely space to socialise, have a coffee and chill out, rooms again basic but lovely, leisure facilities again, great! The only problem that we, as a group of 9 experienced is the mattresses. Everyone suffered from crunchy mattresses where you could feel every spring as you moved. Being greeted by Jacob and George both mornings made up for a poor nights sleep as they'd always be there with their charm and humour, they were also so wonderful with my 4 year old nephew. Thank you Jacob and George youre a great asset to the Hilton.
