City Rooms

The host M.B was very friendly during hte check-in process and very clear about the access codes, etc. The bed was comfy and the shower was nice and warm.

The apartment itself is great, but the property would benefit from a check-in area. The entrance is a random door without any "City Room" labels and no labels on any of the doorbells. After meeting the host I was then taken to another house around the corner, which again did not have any labels or anything. As a woman travelling alone it felt a bit discomforting, even though the host was very friendly. I think a check-in area of information on what to expect upon arrival on the website would be beneficial.

The room is situated in a house which has been divided up into secure bedrooms. Sharing a well furnished bathroom. Being a house the major advantage it has a fitted kitchen with all the advantages this gives. Prepare meal to eat in or prepare food to eat out. No shortage of places to acquire food in the area. It was a quiet well lighted residential area.

Being the doors are opened by a keypad, numbers punched in. I would imagine any person with hand movement problems could find this challenging. But otherwise, the owner is very patient in showing a person how to operate the keypads. Also allowing a person to clearly demonstrate they can do it. Providing all the relevant door opening instructions, in my case on a WhatsApp. I did feel it would be more suitable for a male person than a female person. This was based on the fact there was already another male there, less awkward leaving a door open, privacy etc. Also being very quiet at night has it disadvantages for a woman.

Lovely helpful lady, Diana, greeted me and settled me in. Basic room but comfortable bed and all I needed to enjoy my break. Great location, so central, just what I wanted. Felt completely free to come and go and do whatever I wanted. Other guests very considerate. No loud music, shouting, hogging the bathroom etc. Would definitely love to stay again. Really good value for money.

Hot water could be a little unpredictable, mostly in the sink. Shower generally fine. Furniture in room a little bit worse for wear but such good value for money you don't expect everything to be perfect and immaculate.

Simple accommodation in great location

I travelled with my partner for a three-night stay city-break. We had lower accomodation budget, and considering this it was a decent stay. The location is perfect I would say. It was close to everything and we felt safe. The host, Sam was very nice, helpful and quick. There was a large common space for breakfast and hanging.

The room was a bit dirty, under the cupboards however the bedsheets were clean, we had clean towels. A broom could come handy for the bathroom and bedroom (for people with long and falling hair). Maybe it was there, I just couldn’t find it.

Location was perfect, really well connected and close to public transport. The member of staff who greeted us maintained excellent communication and was very helpful and friendly. The place was clean, and had everything you'd need for a short stay. It was really cost effective, very happy and would definitely book to stay again.

The space might be a little small for some, but for us it was perfect for 1 night. The apartment was a little hard to find, but again the friendly member of staff who greeted us on the street and took us to where we needed to be.

Great central location. Lots of free tea and coffee, and milk (not the rubbish powdered kind), and a fridge and freezer. Very comfy room with everything I needed. Lovely friendly person who did check in. Just big enough for two, and great as a solo traveller.

Got sent 2 addresses for the apartment, which was confusing (one round the corner from the other). Nothing on eiyther side to say "City Apartments". Didn't say anywhere when I booked I would need to ring to be let in - not normally a problem, but my phone had just broken. Also, text was apparently the only way to get the door code? If I hadn't been with a friend, I wouldn't have been able to check in. Tea towel would have been useful.

Great staff and communication - special thanks to Rob for being a very welcoming and diligent host! Great access to the City and East End areas and Liverpool Street Station.

Not so relevant this time, but for a longer stay, we'd prefer more bedroom space and a location less noisy at night.

Location was excellent and the unit suited my short stay perfectly. Rob was very accommodating for check in as I was coming from France and couldn't guarantee my arrival time. Having a highly rated cafe next door for breakfast was a bonus.

Bathroom didn't have shampoo or body wash as they do in most parts of the world. Wasn't sure if this was standard in London. I would have struggled if I had to spend a lot of time in the unit as it was very basic. However, location trumped as I was always out and appeciated its location.
