Lovely location. My bedroom (no.2 if I remember correctly) looked out over the beautiful little courtyard garden and in the distance, the castle was visible. Very clean room. Immaculate in fact. The bed was extremely comfortable. Friendly hosts who greeted me on arrival and made me feel most welcome. Wonderful breakfast with good fresh coffee. Big choice of things to have for the most important meal of the day.

My only little niggle is that the guesthouse is quite expensive. I paid £123 for the one night which I think is quite pricey.

The room was very nice if a little small. The breakfast was exactly what we ordered and expected and the beds were comfortable.

The room was a little hot for sleeping and because the night was windy, opening a window would not have been the answer. I'm not sure whether we could have done anything about it but it did not spoil the stay and I don't bother hosts with things unless they are obviously badly wrong. Kirkgate house probably can't do anything about it but parking is only in the municipal car parks. Maybe they could think about a token scheme.

Upon arrival we were shown around the property and the owner was absolutely amazing and answered any questions we had and really eased my anxiety. The room itself was very well facilitated and the beds were so comfy! A lovely breakfast was provided and there was a wide variety to choose from and we were so well accommodated. The location is excellent, it’s up quite a steep hill from the station but it’s only around a 2 minute walk & it’s within walking distance from all the main attractions which is brilliant for a disabled person. This will definitely be our first choice of accommodation on our next visit!

No complaints at all!

Very friendly owners who give 100 percent for their guests. Fab location located close to all Knaresborough has to offer. Fresh milk and water for the room which is always a winner with me. Lovely breakfast selection with fresh coffee. Lovely little extras in the room such as chocolate went down very well with my little girl. The weather was scorchio but the fan really helped and they thoughtfully closed the blinds to try and keep the room cool. This was a great night away for my little daughter and I and she said it's a 10!

You can't park on site this is to be expected in a place like Knaresborough. We were kindly directed to the best place to park so no big deal for us.

location was good and breakfast was very good and our hosts were kind and most helpful. The bedroom (first floor) and en suite facilities were very good.

Car Parking was an issue in that our host explained where to park overnight etc (Behind the police station) which was only 150 yards or so away - But the warning signs there suggested overnight stays were not acceptable and the max time was limited to 4 hrs. A revisit to chat with our host confirmed the place was the correct to park so we paid for a 4 hr ticket a 4pm and then revisited the park at 11-30pm same day (Sat Night)) and took another 4 hr ticket which then confirmed we were OK on the Sunday until midday! So, simply, Knaresborough CC needs to get it signs and act together to help paying visitors enjoy their stay and not have any worries about overnight parking etc. What's wrong with having a simple 12 or 24hr ticket!?

This is my second visit to Kirkgate while visiting the area. The location is excellent, with a local car park just a few minutes walk away, and the train station down the hill. Hosts are so lovely, and I loved the extra in room touches such as a great tea tray selection and even an Easter egg! The breakfast is also excellent and we couldn’t fault a thing. We’ll be back again when in the area. Thanks!

The only thing I would say is the floorboards in the superior room are a bit creaky but this wouldn’t put me off from returning.

The welcome (even though we arrived later than advertised), the opening windows, the comfort of the beds and facilities in our (small) twin room (good choice of drinks, plus biscuits, chocolates, sweets in the room), the fabulous breakfast, the central location and the town itself. Plenty of storage space. Attractive en suite. Nice toiletries.

If we'd been there for longer than a night or two, the room would have ended up being too small. No room for a table or desk beyond the chest of drawers the kettle etc were sitting on. One arm chair.

Our room looked onto lovely little courtyard with beautiful flowers in it and a resident squirrel! Very comfy bed, good shower and toiletries, good quality bedding and towels. Good selection of tea, coffee etc in rooms and fresh milk provided . Delicious hearty breakfast and plenty of choice. Lovely owners who were very helpful with our car parking questions and kindly provided maps of a walk we wanted to do. Knaresborough is a lovely little town well worth a visit.

No car park at the B&B but public car park literally 2 minutes walk away and really cheap to park.

The location was perfect during our stay. The room we had was so beautiful, very clean, very comfortable and we will stay again. We were grateful for the toiletries because typically I forgot some bits but we were covered. Richard and Karen were wonderful, very welcoming and the breakfast was delicious, high quality ingredients. The location couldn’t have been any better too, everything was on your doorstep.

We loved absolutely everything about Kirkgate House. From our lovely friendly welcome! 😊 to our room which was beautiful and was full of little treats on the tea/coffee tray. Excellent facilities immaculately clean, warm and so comfortable. We both loved the flexibility of the breakfast times. Then comes the breakfast! It was outstanding! Plenty of choice and again always a lovely welcome from both Karen and her husband, Thank you. Our stay was just lovely and certainly just what we needed , but they went above and beyond to make us feel so welcome. We will certainly be making a return. Thank you so much!
