Easily one of the best places we have ever stayed in. Pros Comfortable beds, excellent fresh food especially the seafood platter, pleasant hard working staff, easy car park, large spacious room, large TV, plenty of refreshments in the room even including de-caff tea, quiet. Cons (Minor) We had to wait 50 minutes for food most nights as only one chef had turned up. We can forgive that, we all have problems. However, perhaps the staff could have been more alert to this and offered a free drink while we waited, or the reception staff could have reacted with less suspicious incredulity when paying the bill. Digital radiators are a mistake, they rely on batteries being changed regularly in the control knobs which were unresponsive. Overall That said, the attention to detail here is second to none and we still give the Globe Inn 10/10. Someone has taken a great deal of time and thought to get it right. If you’re thinking of staying in this area – book it.

Would highly recommend The Globe - could not fault anything. Choice of breakfast excellent - including eggs Benedict, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs and full English with a choice of yogurts, cereal, fruit. The dinner we ate in the bar area was good value for money - presentation good, great tasting. I had the scallop starter and crab linguine. Our room was at the back of the pub (recommend asking for one at back as the front is on the road - we could not hear traffic). Room fairly small but great beds, powerful shower and nice tray of tea/coffee/biscuits. We stayed here as a base to visit Salcombe, which was about 20mins drive. Thank you to everyone at The Globe Inn for making our stay so memorable and a special mention to Sue who served as breakfast and was friendly and good fun which made a great start to the day.

We had a superb evening meal - steak and ale pie and burger both homemade delicious and a great sized portion and good value for money. We enjoyed a pre dinner drink on the terrace at the back of the property which was well situated with a great view of surrounding countryside and very relaxing. Great location just 5 mins drive from Kingsbridge Sue John and team were very friendly and welcoming-thank you for a great stay we will be back.

Great base for visiting Dartmouth, Solcombe, Kingsbridge, Blackpool Sands etc Large, comfortable, clean bedroom and super sized bed. Staff were helpful and friendly. Sue, in particular went the extra mile. Great cooked breakfasts and good pub evening meals.

Traffic could be noisy from the front bedroom as it was next to the main road.

Owners John and Linda were very friendly and welcoming from the point of check in and throughout our stay. Our bedroom was very spacious, warm, cosy and spotlessly clean with sanitiser provided for us to keep it infection free after returning from outings. Nothing was too much trouble when we needed anything for the room or advice on places to visit. John even provided us with a replacement lead for our Sat Nav as I had packed the wrong one! All the meals we had including breakfasts were superb. All were home made and very generous in portion. Linda provided variations to menu items to suit our taste and a delicious complementary sea food sharing platter on the last evening of our stay. All in all we had a wonderful stay at the Globe and would recommend it highly to anyone wanting a relaxing get away in a lovely part of the Country. We will definitely not hesitate to stay at the Globe again should we ever return to Frogmore.

Friendly staff. Lovely clean and delicious breakfast food. Super garden tables to sit outside Nice touch to have a fan in room Lovely biscuits with tea tray in room Bus stop a couple of minutes walk away if don’t fancy driving one day.

Very late check in time…of 5 pm although we turned up at 4 and someone arrived then..so was ok. Not fault of anyone but dinner menu a little restricted as 2 of the mains were not available.

The hotel was very clean particularly the bedroom. Excellent choice of tv channels. Bedroom was large and comfortable. Bathroom was a good size with a good pressure shower, plenty of hot water and a large towel rail keeping the fluffy white towels nice and warm. We like extra pillows and this was supplied with no problems. Breakfast was delicious and well cooked. Good variety offered. Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble especially when we wanted to stay an extra night.

Fabulous Location, really friendly staff, the rooms was spacious and clean. The breakfast was great & the 1 meal we did have in the pub was really tasty.

Probably all down to Covid - BUT..... not cleaning the room whilst you are staying - yes we could ask for towels & tea etc.... but would be really nice to have your room cleaned & bed made etc.... The Pub itself was closed on Mondays & Tuesdays, a little disappointing as we do like to have a few drinks in the evening... I think in light of all these things, maybe out of the owners control, I do feel that it was a little expensive for what you got... If in normal circumstances it would have been different?

Food was of very good quality with generous portions. Staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

Wifi was a bit flaky, we sometimes couldn't connect. Traffic noise during the evening which coincided with hot weather so room was a bit airless with the windows closed.

Generally the food was very good. Had a couple of really nice evening meals. Staff were excellent and friendly and the room was very clean.

Room was a little small there was not enough storage space for clothes - could have done with a chest of drawers or something similar. Unfortunately the road nearby was quite busy late a night. It is a shame the village is not a 20mph limit, like the others along that road.
