Everything, I arrived after the kitchen closing time but they stayed on to cook me dinner. The reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and well laid out, the bed very comfortable and huge. The bar well stocked with a good selection of drinks. Everyone very friendly and treated all the customers in a very professional way. The Heathfield Inn is under new management who are determined to make any traveller's experience an enjoyable one. I wish them well, they certainly made my stay perfect. Breakfast was served well and quickly, perfect for bust people.

I little difficult to find but worth the effort.

We only stayed one night (it would have been two, but we were delayed by flat tires). This is an ideal location for touring Wiscombe Valley nearby (we are from the American branch of Wiscombes), and perhaps Lyme Regis for a day trip. We enjoyed finding Wiscombe locations but saw Lyme the day before we checked in. The hotel itself is quite quaint and historic-looking. But to be clear, this is not a touristy area, and there are almost no touristy things to do in town or close by. We walked the main street in the early evening and most things were already closed (by 5 pm). There was none of the buzz of a tourist town. Honiton is just a regular town going about its business. The hotel is also a significant walk from town. I think it would be perfect for just getting away from it all and relaxing and walking, but not for an active tourist except as an overnight stop to break up a trip. The breakfast looked quite nice but, as budget travelers, we had our own yogurt.

We didn't stay long enough to have any problems. Everything you expect of a hotel was provided.

Booked this for the night for my boyfriend as we were attending a wedding where I was bridesmaid and so had to stay at the venue the night before so needed something close and easy for him to drive to the morning of the wedding as we were staying at the venue the night of the wedding. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and nice. Good knowledge of the evening menu and the food was good. The room was really clean with a very comfortable bed so a good nights sleep. The included breakfast was great. The location was perfect for the wedding in Deer Park, a 10 minute drive away. Big car park.

The location was a bit in the middle of nowhere, Honiton is a really small town but good for Deer Park Country House.

Fantastic room, really large and comfortable. The hotel is old and historic and the room was amazing, with loads of storage and extremely comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and the restaurant is well recommended for delicious food at a good price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located for the local bus service which we used to explore the resorts of Seaton and Sidmouth, both only 30 minutes by bus.

This isn't an issue, just a note that travellers may be surprised to find an old 16th century hotel located within a very modern housing estate - we were convinced that our satnav had got it wrong. This is not an issue as it is a quiet estate and caused absolutely no problems, it was just very unusual.

Room itself very good and nice bathroom. Although check in was 3pm we were able to get to the room just after 2pm. Staff very helpful. Nice old building with atmosphere. Plenty of parking in a residential area so very quite. Very nice breakfast.

It seems that very limited times for meals and with a check in after 3pm when the restaurant is closed. Do think the breakfast times could be extended during the week past 9am especially when the check out time is not until 11am. You are paying to stay in these places and there seems not that great individual customer services. Like what time would you like breakfast? Admittedly can't please everyone but up to 10am would be nice especially for people staying that has no work commitments.

Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The cooked breakfast was excellent!

It is bizarrely located in the middle of a 1980s housing estate. We thought the sat nav was directing us incorrectly but then saw the hotel. Although the photos of the exterior were accurate in themselves, it is just so odd to find what looks like a country pub/hotel in that setting! However, we can't fault the service or the rooms so the location didn't detract in any way from our overnight stay.

Incredibly friendly and welcoming staff! Exceptionally clean and well presented room, with delightful home comforts thoughtfully provided! Fabulous cooked breakfast served with a smile!!!

More of a recommendation….A branded sign positioned on the roundabout, on the main road would have immediately allayed my initial fears of driving onto a housing estate…what a relief to turn into the carpark and see the fabulous property depicted on the website….from that moment the stay was absolutely perfect!

The room we had was very big. The bed was very comfy, the room was quiet and the shower was very good. Loads of water pressure, so it really wakes you up. There was also a two-seater sofa on which both seats reclined! That's a nice touch.

There's a bit of a smell in the back area of the building, which spreads to the landing outside the bedrooms. I think it's coming from the toilets down next to the pool table room. This really needs to be sorted out, as it's the only thing really detracting from the stay.

Booked this hotel because it was cheaper than a travel lodge and good location for places we wanted to visit but it turned out to be so much more, after a long day we decided to eat at the hotel so we could have a drink and not travel, the menu isn't as big as advertised online as they wanted to be able to cook everything fresh and it was, best fish and chips l've had the lightest batter and pure white fish, my husband had pie of the day which was venison bacon and mushroom absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was included with selection of cereal, fruit and freshly cooked breakfast to order. Rooms had tea, coffee and biscuits and toiletries supplied in the bathroom. Would definitely revisit. Excellent value for money.

In the middle of a housing estate which wasn't in keeping with the country cottage feel of the hotel but once inside it felt like you could have been anywhere.

The food, especially dinner choices, was excellent. and there is a good choice of ales in the bar The general ambience was very pleasant and it's an attractive old-world building. The room was fine, although I had a little issue with the shower explained below. I had a bike with me and the manager was helpful in finding a secure place for it.

Not a major issue but I was unable to get the shower properly warm. It got no more than what I would call "slightly trepid." It's the reason I feel unable to give the absolute full mark for "comfort."
