Thistle London Heathrow Terminal 5

I needed to drop my wife at Heathrow T5 early Monday morning so chose a night in a hotel for us both and a meal out rather than brave a clogged motorway. We sat in the bar for a few hours and then dined in the bar as we were both comfortable. The staff were great, very friendly and welcoming. The room was fine and breakfast was also good. The car park was very busy and you can't book in advance which is worrying but we found a space. The shuttle bus to the airport was also a definite plus. I will be back.

Car parking. If we had not found a space i do not know what we could have done. I like to know in advance i have booked all i need and this was my only concern. The car park was a huge area around the hotel but very busy. I did hear someone complaining their car had been damaged quite badly in the morning.

Room has everything you need except a fridge. Double glazing keeps the noise down, and I got some great photos of planes taking off right over me from the bus stop - very close. Public bus stop is very close and cheap. Subway between the terminals is free. I'm flying Virgin so will get the public bus to terminal 5 (they gave me a timetable at the desk) and then take the underground to terminal 3. Comfortable bed and bathroom. Huge big TV an arm chair a desk and chair and I had a lovely bath. Check out is 11 which is excellent for me because I don't check in until 2pm.. I also arrived at 8am today and checked my bags then bussed to Windsor castle for the day.

A little fridge, but because most people are here only a few hours, it is probably not essential. I would have put yoghurt in it for breakfast.

I came late (12 o'clock at night), in a flight connection, so this hotel was exactly what I needed. Had a POD to bring me from Terminal 5 (my terminal connecting from one flight to another), it's easy to use, definitely would use it again. Had good employees, clean sheets and a confortable bed, hot bath, TV. The furniture it's a little bit old, but nothing that would really matters I think.. Recomend it to others like me that came late to eat at the airport, them come rest at night.

Without Wi-Fi. The machine for payments didn't work for me, so I couldn't pay for breakfast at the hotel the next day, they didn't take cash too (didn't mind it 'cause had already paid for the room; there is plenty of food at the airport, and last had an active chip at my travel).

Located about a mile from T5. Take bus from stand 6 for 2 stops and you are there. You can also take the driverless pods. A bit steep at £7 each but very fast and conveniently have no waiting Room was clean and tidy.. Self serve breakfast was available from 0600 to 1000 for an additional £12. Traditional English and continental both available. Nice outside terrace which looks across to the takeoff runway. Would definitely stay here again if flying from T5.

If I had to be ultra critical, the corridors could do with freshening up and there were a dozen or so stairs to our floor with no lift access but wasn't a problem for us.

The room was big enough for me, beautiful old stile furniture and room decorations. Breakfast was wonderful, big choice of full English breakfast and continental breakfast. Staff was very polite and helpful. The restaurant has a very big terrace facing Terminal 5, it is a big bonus. You have a nice view and can have breakfast al fresco. Location is very good, close to Heathrow terminals. There is red bus number 432, its stop is around 5 minutes walk to the Thistle Hotel. The bus stop J is in front of Premier Inn hotel. If you travel from terminal 5 of Heathrow Airport the bus stop for the bus 432 is number 6, it is on the right side when you leave the airport. You can get a free train trip from Terminal 5 to terminals 2 and 3, also Terminal 4. There is also a little park next to the hotel and an old pub.

The hotel could inform visitors about bus 432 option.

Clean, quiet and comfortable and a short bus ride (#423) from Heathrow terminal 5. I appreciated the bath. The breakfast buffet overlooking the runway is worth paying for. For exercise I walked to the small town of West Drayton, about 3 miles away, and took the bus back, using Google maps. There is a path by the canal there and a high street with shops.

The price is quite a bit higher than what I've experienced in the past. I assume this is due to summer - still, this is a stopover hotel for Heathrow airport, not a destination. A warming rail in the bathroom would have been useful to dry towels or clothes after a walk in the rain.

Very close to T5 Heathrow, convenient, good value, friendly staff, Pods to get you to and from T5 in less than 5 minutes. Restaurant and bar on premises for breakfast and dinner options.

A bit dated, tiny bathroom, not very soundproof could hear other guests talking in corridor.

It’s very close to terminal 5 , it’s nice that you can sit in the restaurant or bar/terrace and watch the planes taking off. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable . Tea/coffee and bottled water in the room. Nice and quiet despite travellers coming and going . Reception staff were friendly and helpful, we were given a bus timetable. Easy access to business parking with a short walk back to the hotel after we dropped off our cases ( using Google maps put in the bus stop outside of the hotel to get the correct route !) stop J . Bus stop J to terminal 5 just outside of hotel car park entrance/exit . £6.80 per person but that bus collected us across the road at the Premier Inn.

I tried to book overnight parking before arrival but was told it was full . I’d contacted them by contact form and email in regards to find out if it was easy to get from business parking to the hotel . Didn’t get a response . However when we did arrive there were spaces . I had already extended our stay at business parking terminal 5 which was cheaper for an extra night ( actually refunded some money ) so worked out well in the end . so in future would book the same business parking again and not park at the hotel.

Gentleman who checked us in was quite aggressive about how to use the credit card machine. I was quite taken aback and asked him why he was so aggressive. We asked if we could move to a different floor with twin beds as my friend doesn't like being on the ground floor. He told me that twin rooms are on the ground floor only. I mentioned this to the receptionist on check out and she apologised for the rude manner of her colleague and gave me a free pod transfer. She also confirmed that twin rooms are not only on the ground floor but first floor too.

It's a 2-level hotel with easy in/out access to/from LHR T5 within 5-7 min via the POD, thus a convenient access to the London Underground. It's also accessible by bus to explore the immediate vicinities of Hounslow and Slough, two London suburbs. Overall a very good accommodation: very clean room, comfy bed, strong Wifi, good hot breakfast (full English and/or continental choices, fresh fruit, espresso). The dining room overlooks T5 runway. The staff are very friendly and helpful, reception is open 24/7.

While the standard double room is amply spaced for one person, it may not be optimal for two people especially with luggage. The extra 19 GBP charge for breakfast is high-priced (even for London) if not totally unnecessary. Good hotels especially those within a stone's throw to an airport ALWAYS ALWAYS have breakfast as part of the hotel room charge so as to encourage business travelers.
