excellent location, with close proximity to Arthur’s seat and the beautiful hills and fields beneath, which made for a stunning evening walk and all less than a 10 min stroll back to the hotel. The room was clean, comfortable and well-equipped with complimentary soaps and shampoos etc. Bed linen of good quality and the bed itself extremely comfortable and meant I had a really good nights sleep. Staff extremely friendly and professional and the service is efficient and fuss-free. Good variety of choice in the continental breakfast ~ a cooked breakfast would have been nice and I would have been prepared to pay extra for this option. The free car park attached is such an added bonus and something I have not encountered in Edinburgh before. I’ve already booked to return later in the year and am very much looking forward to it.

The very comfy big bed and that we did get a double duvee and not to separate one. It was nice to cosy up under the same one:) the staff were really nice and always trying to see if we need anything but not in an annoying way. The room has usb chargers which was a big plus for us that left the adapters at home and the sink and showers have regular taps, and not two sperate in the english style which was even a bigger plus. The room felt elegant but comfy. Breakfast was good. Quite as well, had the best sleep (once those shutters are closed hello dream world). Cosmetics in the bathroom, even toothpaste and toothbrush if u forgot your own
No hangers in the bathroom. Needed to improvise where to hang towels after shower. This seems to be a reccuring problem, not particulary to this hotel, i guess hotel designers forget about practicality:/ the shower would need maybe some cm lowering or smth so the water would stay there. It wasnt a very big problem (werent swimming after shower in the bathroom) but i would consider it as i would also do something about the ventilation( it got quite damp in the mornings in the room)

The property is beautiful with so much character and original charm. It’s very well presented. The hotel is peaceful, tranquil and my room had the most delightful view over a well kept garden. The bed was huge and extremely comfortable. Best night sleep I’ve had at a hotel in a long time. The room is more than well equipped, including well stocked mini bar, complimentary tea coffee biscuits . The bathroom was really well presented again with an array of toiletries and over night kits just incase you have left yours behind. Continental breakfast was included, amaxing more than enough choice. The staff where so friendly nothing was too much trouble.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Salisbury Hotel during my trip to Edinburgh, and I can't recommend this hotel enough. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. The room I stayed in was absolutely beautiful and had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The amenities, including the delicious breakfast were also top-no. But what really stood out to me was the exceptional service provided by the staff. Every person I encountered went above and beyond to make sure my stay was enjoyable and stress-free. From the front desk to the housekeeping staff, everyone was friendly, professional, and accommodating. Overall, I had an incredible experience at Salisbury Hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay in Edinburgh. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making my trip so wonderful!
Everything was perfect!

Everything !!! The room was amazing. It was super clean, the location os great. The bathroom is very well organised, it was super quiet. Had the best stay in a long time ! And even with all that being great, their staff is amazing. I was in a tricky and stressful situation and they went above and beyond to help me out. If there was I way I could have left a tip for the both of them I would have. They really made a big difference and I can't thank them enough. You do hire very nice and efficient people. Take good care of them, they are great !! Thanks again
Nothing. It was my nicest stay in Edinburgh so far !

The location was good. There was a pub within a block that offered beer and a good meal. The young lady at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The continental breakfast was quite fine, but perhaps not in the great category.
There was a bad leak in the shower which caused half the bathroom floor to be flooded. There were what looked like moth holes in the curtains which didn't bother me particularly, but didn't seem to be right in what to me was not an inexpensive room. For me paying with Australian dollars, the room seemed very expensive especially considering that it was quite small.

Lovely hotel in a perfect location for getting around. Really comfortable bed in a lovely room and a nice garden view. Very quiet so perfect for our 3 day break. Reception team were very friendly as were the breakfast team in the morning. Continental breakfast available which was really well presented and lots of veriety. We both really enjoyed our breakfasts.
Only downside was the tele reception wasn't the best and made it impossible to watch sometimes so we had to resort to watching our tablet that we had taken. We did mention this to the receptionist but said its how it was and nothing could be done. Also had problems with the plug in the sink not coming back up when you pressed it down so had to keep pulling it up with our nails and holding it but didn't disrupt our trip too much. On saying this we would definitely stay in the same room again.

We received emails prior to our stay reflecting they were looking forward to our arrival and queried what time we would arrive. We both received a warm welcome on arrival and the receptionist was very accommodating moving her car to enable us to park and informed us of the amenities and just genuinely interested in the reason for our visit. The Sailsbury suite was massive and very clean. The dressing gowns and slippers were a lovely touch The room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels provided which we hadn't expected but appreciated it. The hotel was ideally situated for our needs and was a pleasant 30 minute walk to Edinburgh Town centre or a 5 minute walk to the bus route. Plenty of restaurants nearby as well as their own Sophias. We thought it was reasonably priced especially with the Edinburgh Tattoo event. I would highly recommend it and will definitely stay again

lovely hotel, very comfortable and cosy, friendly staff and a warm welcome. We stayed in room Higate, we found it to be very comfortable. roomy , lots of storage, garden view, good size bathroom and shower, optional mini bar and plenty toiletries. I had asked for wine in the room, which was provide and we enjoyed a nice bottle of red wine. the hotel was quiet and we weren’t disturbed by other guests coming and going. a good selection for a continental buffet breakfast in the morning, and all the staff we met were very pleasant. it is about a 20 minute walk into the centre- we had table reservations for dinner on market street and found it an easy walk to get there. We were also able to park at the hotel which saved us finding the nearest park and ride. overall a really pleasant stay.

Communication was good, room was lovely and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is 20 min walk from station so ideal booked again for 2 nights in December. Price on reflection was abit on high side for 1 night but was start of the fringe festival which I wasn't aware of when booked. Beautiful building and our room had view of garden.
The shower gel dispenser was empty didn't realise until was in shower. If going to offer this which is a nice touch should be checked as too late when you're in the shower.
