It is a beautiful , well lit, modernised Edwardian building which still maintains many of its original features and resonates a positive and peaceful vibe. My room was spacious, ventilated, clean and well looked after. The breakfast was continental, with good options to choose from. The staff members I encountered were welcoming, friendly, professional and really did contribute to my stay being that much more enjoyable and relaxing. The hotel itself is in an ideal location, it has a spectacular view, overlooking a quiet part of the beach, which is only two minutes from it's entrance. It also is conveniently located that within 5 - 10 minutes walking time, I could be in the more busier and touristy part of the seafront. If you are looking for a place to stay in Eastbourne, I would highly recommend you consider this place.

Communual kitchen lovely idea, loads of food choices, fresh fruit and yoghurt etc, perfect location, quiet end of the sea front. Stunning view from room!

PLEASE put a hook in the bathroom to hang towel or handbag etc, and perhaps small jug to fill up the kettle with as it wont fit under the tap.

Free street parking a very short walk (1min) away was fine. On arrival, was greeted by very friendly and helpful Steve. The room was very nicely decorated and modern. The room was very clean. The Smart TV was a decent size and had a good connection for Netflix, Youtube and FreeView. There weren't any disturbances from other guests; annoying noises from nearby machines; road traffic; or people leaving pubs etc. The Wi-Fi was on point - (50mb/s) - I think there must have been a router/booster on every floor. I've stayed in a few Hotels in Eastbourne (probably about 8) and will aim to use this one again. It was a very relaxing stay here as it had everything I needed.

Very happy with the hospitality from the staff Lee made sure we had the best room for our stay and couldn’t have done more for us. Would recommend staying at the halcyon and will be back next year. Shane

Everything was really nice. We didn’t know that this hotel provides breakfast, but it was there. They offered us with fruits, juices, different mills, fresh croissants and others. They also provide us rooms with breathtaking views. We had one room with sea view and other three with city view. The rooms were enough big, everything was clear! I don’t remember the name of the owner of hotel, but I wanna thank him! He was so kind! Thank you! This hotel is near station, about 10 min walking. It is a big advantage of this place! A lot of restaurants around. And the main place Beachy Head is so near (5-7 min by car, 40-50 min walking). Thank you so much!!!!

The hotel was undergoing renovations but even so they provided us with quiet and clean rooms without any inconvenience.

The hotel was perfectly located with a beautiful view on the sea. As it was rather at the end of the road along the beach one could find free parking very close. The rooms were brand new, the more expensive one was very spacious and perfectly equipped. The owner and his staff are nice and welcoming.

The one thing that should be improved is the breakfast. It's nice to sit with the other guests in the kitchen and it's ok to help yourself to milk/yoghurt in the fridge. But a coffee machine should be added and there should be "real" plates/cutlery and not throw away dishes (even if ecologial). Also the quality/choice of the jams/youghurts could be better.

we were the only ones there and got upgraded to their best room with a sea view. The room looked freshly decorated. Lovely bath & shower. Comfortable bed.

just a slight issue with the TV connected to the wi-fi. was looking forward to some catch up TV at the end of the day but just wouldn’t connect. stuck with terrestrial TV and nothing on.

everything about the place the staff the building the price there was actually a free help yourself snack type breakfast cornflakes toast tea etc. would recomend to anyone. Cheers

only 1 thing car parking but after 6pm and before 8am you can park free in the street outside the hotel before 6pm. and after 8am permit ? required

We booked last minute on our road trip. As a result we had the small room. We were very happy with it. The bathroom was tiny and we needed some yoga skills to manage. But it was part of the charme of this monumental house. It is beautifully located. Ocean's view. Direct acces to the boardwalk and city center. Also important: good hosts. A friendly conversation, tips and suggestions. No commercial atmosphere here.

Great location at the quieter end of the seafront, and only about 20 minutes walk from the station and the centre of town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. DIY Breakfast arrangement worked well.

My single room and bathroom were small, with a lack of surface space to put anything down, which might have been an issue if I'd been staying longer. However, they were clean and pleasant, and I did have a sea view!
