Exceptionally clean, surrounded by pubs, restaurants and bars but didnt hear a sound, really quiet. Lovely comfortable bed

No kettle in room and no t bags. Not everyone drinks coffee. I.did ask for a kettle and one was put in room but personally I think it should be standard. Also my room was so small that I had to climb over the bed to get in as there wasn't enough room either side of the bed. It was clearly a single bedroom but had a double bed in.it. apart from that all was good and I would stay.there again .

Perfect location to explore Canterbury. Parking space available at just 5 a minute walk away. Rooms are small, but stylish and very practically furnished and the bathroom is rather spacious. Checkin is automated, instructions were very clear and all was well prepared. I wouldn't recommend this hotel if you plan to spend more than 2/3 nights, because then I would feel it is a bit too small, but it had all the convenience we were looking for during our short stay.

The walls are rather thin, so it is easy to hear noise from the other rooms and the hallway. Keep that in mind when you move around and maybe bring earplugs.

Comfortable memory foam bed, good sized TV with apps (brilliant!), fabulous shower and bathroom, excellent toiletries (!!!), full size bath sheets, air conditioning if needed, hairdryer, key code entry, very peaceful room, bottled water, ear plugs, bang in the centre of Canterbury, priced fairly. Clean lobby. The communication and help from the owners was exemplary. Really first class!

No kettle, only a coffee maker - not everyone likes/drinks coffee - that was a BIG disappointment and really let it down for me, as someone that drinks gallons of herbal tea, and the floor hadn't been hoovered/swept, otherwise it would have got a 10/10. Also a fresh coffee stain on saucer - not a deal breaker obviously but along with the bits all over the floor and rug, did make me query the cleanliness. Rest of the place, though, was clean. Duvet very thin - summer duvet. Although you can control temperature with AC unit, it took a while so an extra blanket would have been great, if poss. So much was right with this place. If it had a kettle... sigh...

Location, comfort, ease of access all superb. Questions answered immediately. Problems sorted immediately. The lighting in the bedroom and shower room were amazing. Bed really comfortable. I was at the back of the building and it was extremely quiet.

I just wish that people designing bath and shower rooms would put a shelf of two in, or even a larger basin area, so that you don't have to put your wasbag or makeup bag either on the loo or the floor! Also, don't expect the TV to have any live channels - it's all through wifi, so with the apps (like Youtube and BBC iplayer).

I like that it's spacious and in the center of everything. The kitchen is big and provide enough utensils and tableware. My husband loves the coffee machine.

I didn't know that it's a duplex unit. We have to carry our suitcases to our bed room up stair. I don't remember I found or read the information about its being duplex before. The unit is located next to a pub, it can be noisy sometimes when people talked and smoked right below us. Luckily, they stopped around 22.00 hrs. So we could go to bed in peace. The first day was a bit hectic, we couldn't turn on the heaters. We had to write to them. There is a remote control for the heater, not just to turn the valve at the heater itself. I wish they can provide new wooden spatulas, they all are broken.

The check in was super easy and fully automated, all instructions were sent via Booking and by text in advance, which we really appreciated! The room was super clean, gorgeous design and layout, very comfortable! It’s also right in the centre of town, so super easy to get to every part of Canterbury on foot (max 20 mins even to the farthest point of interest). Highly recommend!

We would have loved a later check out, but that wasn’t possible.

We loved absolutely everything about our stay, the accommodation was just perfect, the bed was super comfortable, the decor was beautiful, the bathroom was stunning and shower awesome... Various light fixtures, hidden lights around the ceiling edge , spot lights, 3 modern low hanging down lights, lights either side of the bed which also have a movable spot light for reading. The bathroom has a lovely long mirror over the double sink which has a light on and lights under the bathroom sink and the ceiling spot lights... Very close to the station and obviously everything else in Canterbury. The tv was easy to use and we watched a couple of hours of Netflix . The coffee machine was great to have aswell We could see the cathedral and the Marlowe theatre from one window which I have to mention have the most lovely high quality curtains 😊 It was very quiet at night time and actually any other time we were in our room... We were gutted we had to leave a day earlier due to the train strikes and having to get back to London. I'm definitely booking to stay here again. Thank you The Hugo team for our lovely stay.x

Right in the heart of the city so return to hotel after local walkabout is great. One of the best shower I have used in any hotel. Coffee machine. Ear plug provided, though I wasn't aware of much noises. Hassle free entry. Many pillows available.

Nothing major. Minor issues. Room is cozy. I was unable to find light switch at the bed side, so had to get up from the bed to switch the light off and get back. For other traveller, note that the road infront of the hotel is pedestrian only, standard for Canterbury city. One flight of stairs is bit steep.

Location superb (we were visiting the Marlowe theatre - a couple of hundred yards away. Very comfortable, everything you needed and very quiet (we were in Suite 4 at the back) despite being located on the main thoroughfare. Bathroom was among the best with a walk in shower, lashings of hot water, twin sinks, and lighting effects that could keep you amused for hours.

A kettle rather than the Nespresso machine (ability to make tea and something other than the very strong coffee supplied). A stair rail for the top 4 treads of the steep access staircase (we were warned of the staircase itself as I had mentioned I am getting on and a little unsteady on my feet). This would be a real problem for some elderly or physically disabled.

Brilliant location in the city centre, car park in easy walking distance. Well equipped, modern and clean. Perfect for up to 4 persons (family or couples).

Shower gel provided at 2,- GBP per small tube (single use) - and you need to call the concierge to arrange payment before use??? Some leftover buns, juice, etc. in kitchen/fridge. Not sure if it was meant as a welcome gift, but as the stuff was already open, we left it alone.
