If you're visiting the Cotswolds, The Swan is a charming choice - it overlooks Bibury, one of the prettiest villages to visit, the stream and bridge running through the village and cows grazing in the field. It's a comfortable hotel, pretty English design, and we had an OK room with a sofa, big bed that we slept well in, very large traditional bathroom, and some nice touches: Nespresso machine, choice of teas, local magazines, Molton Brown products. There's a small bar area and a courtyard that's a great place to have a drink, and a large restaurant where we had dinner and breakfast. Some local choices - like the local trout, and standard of dinner was good. The staff are friendly.

Our room was overpriced for a 4-star hotel, and for the level of service and facilities at on offer - that said we stayed on a bank holiday weekend, so were perhaps paying more than usual. Bibury is on the tourist circuit, so it is very busy. Service could have been better - no offer to help with bags or finding a car parking spot, a bit slow at dinner.

It was a lovely getaway location. The staff were very friendly at the front desk and in the restaurant. The rooms were beautifully decorated. I enjoyed a bath before and after dinner. We planned to end our day at Bibury and we had the area to ourselves after 6pm so it was worth it to stay at the hotel, once the tourists had all gone for the day. The meals in the restaurant were delicious. If you go, you will want to stay in the hotel and enjoy the restaurants. It is a bit of a drive to get to anything else.

Loved absolutely Everything about The Swan Inn. Beautiful setting! Room was spacious and fit the Cotswolds perfectly. We had dinner at the restaurant there and it was delicious. Breakfast was wonderful too. Would Highly Highly recommend!

Nothing! Everything was great! The only thing for future visitors to keep in mind is there is no air conditioning. We traveled at an unusually warm time so that was the only thing but we had the window open and it was just fine.

Charm and position, plus car parking was easier than expected plus larger room than expected.

Almost faultless but the room window catches are painted over and hence the windows don’t open properly which was a problem with the recent heatwave and no air conditioning (though there was a good fan). This could be fixed so easily even by a home handyman with good reproduction brass fittings available that do work. I can’t recall a bathroom exhaust fan either

Loved everything about the Swan Hotel, very stylish, sophisticated, lovely country feel, very friendly staff, top class favourites, delectable meal dining, excellent coffee & too too it off the best location ❤️

Loved everything, the only downside was I found the mattress was very hard & asked the staff if they might have a mattress topper? The Staff were so accommodating by fitting one that afternoon, problem solved & a restful sleep was had. This was greatly appreciated.

This is a superb hotel. Honestly one of my top experiences. Bibury is a stunning English village and the whole area of the Cotswolds is beautiful. We had the four poster bed which was super comfy and romantic. Well worth getting one of these rooms if you can. Huge room and bathroom. Big bath and, two sinks so great for a couple. Superb restaurant (try the local trout) and beautiful ala carte breakfast. You can enjoy a port or whiskey in front of a log fire in the evening. Just wonderful.

Nothing. Beautiful hotel.

We really enjoyed spending the hot tub and someone came at some point to change the water which was great. Waitress were very helpful specially Maria who is such a lovely person and gives lots of advice about the area. She also recommended us what to eat as we could not decide. Room was very clean and well equipped.

A small fridge would be great specially in the woopper cottage as we bought some drinks from the bar and could really use the fridge to keep them cold.

the old building, the location, the bathroom, tea and coffee at the room, the little park outside, the dinner

the staff at the restaurant seemed to be a little unorganized, probably not very experienced, but they were friendly. At the time we were in Bibury, in the beginning of September, the streets were full with cars and busses, will probably be better later in Autumn or in winter It was very warm and we couldn't open the window enough

Great location to explore Cotswold - easy drive radius of 10-30mins. Lucky for us we got parking lot (bit of a lottery really). The room was a good size and bathroom was huge! Bed was comfortable. The small garden in front is very charming - very nice to chill out there. Well maintained too. The lady at front desk was very welcoming and the overall service was very good. Special mention of wait staff - I think she's Maria from Bulgari. She was serving table on 16Aug night, followed breakfast on 17Aug - service from the heart! She was smiling with every table guests - every! Love her passion and how genuine she is! Good breakfast selection too.

The sink was slanted, so when you put your hands washing gel on it, it would stand and will slide into the sink. A simple problem which can be solved by just adding a ledge across - inexpensive and will be so helpful. Car Park was limited and coming back from sightseeing, one really prays for a lot!

Located in the picturesque village of Bibury the Swan Hotel is very much what you would expect. Stone walls, wooden beams, creaky floors and very much in keeping with its surroundings. We stayed in a four poster room. I say room but in truth it was more like a suite with a bathroom the size of most hotel rooms and a separate sitting area. Plenty of storage and all the equipment you might need in a UK hotel, fan, hair dryer, safe, etc. We specifically asked for a quiet room so we’re given one at the rear of the hotel. In hindsight this was a mistake (ours) as there was no view. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Don’t think that you are restricted to just one thing from the menu, you can have whatever you like within reason. We had dinner in the restaurant three nights and thoroughly enjoyed each meal. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful especially Amanda. Some of the options on the menu were quite expensive but when we compared with other similar establishments the prices were very similar. Not all the items were to our taste but when we asked chef was more than willing to prepare food off menu, if given some notice. Overall it’s a lovely hotel in a lovely village with lovely staff.

Parking can be problematic but that’s true of any village in the Cotwolds and not just Bibury. We did find the published menu on the website a little confusing as it was not clear, to us, what was available on the diner menu and what was lunch only. Also worth noting that the central heating radiators in the rooms were on. It was only after one night that we realised and turned them off! I’m sure some nights can be quite cold but being told about the heating might have prevented a slightly restless first night.
