Cove Bay Hotel

my wife and i couldn`t fault cove bay hotel even with our very late arrival due to thunderstorms they had saved us a good hot meal , so nothing was to much trouble for them to make your stay even better , even the lady running the bar [ tuesday evening] was very helpful telling us best routes to take and best place for lunch . had a couple of evening meals in the hotel all food was excellent . also on the plus side there was a excellent breakfast menu all served by a top class friendly lady the plus point was 4 days of hot sunny weather

the one thing we didn`t like was having to leave and come home

The calm and the peace of a characterful old granite inn but still on southern edge of city plus the coastal views. The food is really very good. Friendly and helpful staff at every turn. Room was comfortable, traditional nice decor, with great bed, good pillows and not too small as single rooms go. It had a great modern en suite with very good shower and high quality soap/shampoo. Nice view of the sea and tea/coffee making available with biscuits.

My room was above the public bar and it was noisy until just after midnight BUT it was a Saturday night and it's clearly a popular venue with locals. After last orders it all quietened down quickly so it's a minor point to be aware of.

Cove Bay is a beautiful old hotel right beside the sea, close to Aberdeen but away from the hustle and bustle. We had a newly decorated standard room with parking right outside our cottage. The bed was super comfy and the decor a warm subtle highland style. Great shower. Great breakfast. Cordon Bleu dining both nights. But best of all is the friendly, cheerful and helpful staff. Diane, Claire and their team looked after us as if we were special from the moment we arrived. We totally recommend Cove Bay Hotel as part of your Scotland Experience. Barb and Mark NZ

We liked every little thing.

loved the location of the hotel! my family and I live around the London area so being able to wake up and take a 5min walk down to the sea, breathe the fresh air and relax was a dream. the breakfast/dinner room also had a beautiful view and the gentleman who booked us in made sure we had a window view table which was thoughtful. The double bed room I stayed in felt big and light even though it was a fairly small room. The bathroom was also clean and had a spacious shower.

sadly I found the WIFI connection wasn't too great and trying to watch anything on your Netflix account would struggle to load or pixelate, but from the rest of the experience, I personally wouldn't see this as a big negative and would stay again.

We were looking for somewhere nearby city centre that had parking. We visited Cove Bay a couple of years ago and noticed this lovely hotel. We made a last-minute booking while travelling up to Aberdeen. Swayed by its good reviews and location, it was very reasonably priced, so we took a chance. I'm so glad we did as the food was absolutely amazing. A spotless, modern bathroom and the bed was one of the comfiest I've been in.

Our room was above the bar, so it was a little noisy, which is OK if you don't need an early night or are planning to join them. Which we did 🙂

This is a family run hotel where ALL of the staff treated you with the same accommodating attention and service. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were basic but clean, comfortable and had everything needed. We had beautiful sea views and the harbour was only a short walk away. Hotel free parking and close to the city centre. Small local shop with post office and a bus service if needed. Oh and the food was second to none. Wouldn't even consider eating elsewhere. Fresh fish brought in daily. We will be going back.

There was only one thing and that was the jukebox on the Friday night but it went off dead on last orders at the bar. So not really a complaint. Was not expecting it.

The hotel is situated around a 15 minute drive from Aberdeen city centre and is a welcome retreat after a day's sightseeing. We found the staff warm, welcoming and friendly. The food was exceptional, with the restaurant offering a wide variety of choices containing local produce. We ate here on each of the three nights we stayed and were very impressed. Clearly the restaurant was popular with local people too. Our room, although perhaps a little dated, was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would not hesitate to stay here again when we return to Aberdeen.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The room was excellent. It was spacious. The bathroom was lovely and big, too, with a large shower. We loved the sea view. The food was delicious and the staff were polite and helpful.

A litre carton of soya milk would have been useful, as I need a dairy free diet. The tiny, sealed plastic pots provided meant that I couldn't have cereals for breakfast. They weren't very nice in tea and coffee either.

The food was delicious! Definitely recommend the steak. Location was perfect for lovely walks along the coast and for exploring. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our flight was delayed and they offered to make us some food for when we eventually arrived. One of the nights we wasn’t able to get a taxi to a restaurant we booked so they sat us down straight away in the restaurant and we’re so glad they did as the food was incredible. Would definitely stay here again!

Breakfast service could have been a little better.

Directions to hotel were very good, well signposted. Plenty car parking Lovely staff, friendly, accommodating and welcoming Room was lovely and clean, bright and airy with great views of the sea. All meals are made to order, so everything is fresh. Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Had a great stay and will definitely return Oh … and we saw the dolphins in the bay - twice!
